The Memphis Grizzlies will not be bringing Dillon Brooks back to their team “under any circumstances” despite the player being in the last year of his contract. For a Toronto Raptors team in desperate need of additional talent, could they be planning a HUGE move to sign the Mississauga native in free agency?
The Toronto Raptors are looking to retool after an extremely underwhelming 41-41 season where they lost in the first round of the play-in tournament to the Chicago Bulls. Two of the main issues for the team were the lack of shooting and the lack of depth which perhaps Brooks could be one of the first pieces to try and help resolve these issues. Brooks despite his reputation is still a quality NBA player and a borderline elite player on defense. The problem with Brooks is the baggage he brings. The ego, trash-talking, and selfish play on the court could be too much for any team who wants to bring him in, but for a Raptors team working on development, is it worth trying to mold him into the ideal 3&D player for this team going forwards?
