This is the doc rivers special. Our offense is, a lot of the times, impressively uncreative. Pass to Embiid, stand and watch him fight a triple team. If that doesn’t work do we adjust? Nope. Do we try to run any sets to get our smaller guys like Maxey easy buckets? Doesn’t seem like it. We run the same thing for 48 minutes. And when it really doesn’t work, this is what happens.
Why can teams put up these huge runs on doc coached teams? Because every offensive possession of ours is hard. Embiid has a great fadeaway, but that shouldn’t be the fucking go to on damn near every possession. We can’t sustain with how hard we make our own lives with our shit offense, and next thing you know you blink and we’re down 20.
Fire Doc. And bring in a coach who can make the most out of our talent.

I went back and watched this stretch like a fucking sicko. It starts with the tobi foul pushing Tatum in the back. Didn’t see much but whatever. Then the kicked ball by embiid next possession. Marcus smart hits a circus shot, PJ misses a wide open 3 and Tatum hits a tough contested 3 over embiid. At this point, it’s just a bunch of tough breaks, we’re down by like 8, but it’s when a clear shift in our body language starts. We start panicking early and honestly doc just doesn’t do enough to reign it in. They get a bunch of switches with embiid on the perimeter. How much of that is directly embiid’s fault I’m not sure. Just an insanely brutal stretch and I don’t know how doc didn’t do more to correct it

Doc is clearly gone now, but he deserves it. Celtics changed the lineup by start two bigs in Game 6, it worked, and Doc just stubbornly refused to adjust. With the paint clogged we needed to bring in perimeter shooting but Doc just keeps bashing the same failure over and over.
