More or less agree minus the washed part. If there’s one thing I will give Masai, it’s that his eye for scouting talent hits even in the late first, early second area (even if the front office was wrong to trade their 2022 1st for the privilege of paying Thad Young)
Malachi and Bruno are the only “busts” and even then the former had some unique circumstances regarding the overall ability to scout in that year’s draft

lol edward is spot on…idk a good chunk of ppl here really thought its smart to fight for the playoffs /play in. I was really blindsided by masai believing this was the smart move.

1/10 is still dogshit odds. Yeah a higher pick is better but y’all gotta relax.

Its like even of we got in to the playoffs, we didn’t stand a chance. I kiss my teeth every time I’m reminded of this.

I agree, I just don’t think Masai is washed.

“Massi is washed” lmao, here we go again.

This team has been directionless for 4 seasons now. The Thad trade, Jak trade, and project power forward were unmitigated disasters. I’m just going to go ahead and say it, Masai is washed. I’m grateful for the championship and some great years of basketball to watch but he’s been fucking up these past few years.

It was truly unbelievable we went for the 8th seed, this year of all years. Jesus

No one jumped into the top 4 except Portland who had 5th best odds. That would have hurt to tank more and not get into the top 4

Horrible way to live life. But it is easy to do.

If only we had that 10% chance, then we could be even more disappointed

What a joke this franchise is becoming

I won’t listen to a guy who’s handle is “Edward Rogers was right.”

Who cares, get over it. We didn’t get Wenby, so what life continues.

Worst fanbase in Toronto. That’s saying something.

These posts and tweets are proof of brain rot from recency bias and bad basketball takes.

Holy fuck can literally anything else be posted on this sub? Are we just going to talk about not getting the lottery for the rest of the year? This sub is just an echo chamber of people with apparently perfect hindsight vision on the season
decent_descent
I feel like Wemby is gonna be injury prone his whole career :/ that body type is just made for it unfortunately

Washed is likely too much. But deserving of criticism? Definitely. If you look at our FO decisions over the past few years, it hasn’t been pretty and has led us directly to where we are now.
FantaLoL
I mean, look at the Pistons in comparison. They went 17-65… and ended up with the 5th overall pick. The odds of getting that first are still so low that watching a product have that kind of record year after year, just praying for a high pick, just isn’t the right play either.
danhoyuen
then proceed to lose to Dia Derozan in play in
Barnicus53
It would be great if fans understood that Bobby Webster pulls the trigger on these decisions and not Masai.

Being a raps fan but also really into European soccer(leagues with relegation), sometimes my I find it hard to grasp that intentional losing is a standard, accepted strategy for a professional sports team. I didn’t think much about this as a kid, but it feels more and more outrageous as I get older.
