Tre Jones should be the floor general of the second unit. He can play with the the first unit while we look to upgrade with someone that can get others involved shoot a good percentage especially from 3 with longer arms and more height that can guard Atleast a couple positions . I like he’s a good dude with the heart and courage of a lion. I don’t know him personally but that’s what I get looking from the outside, I could be totally wrong but I think he’s a good player and I wish him the very best weather he leaves or winds up staying!!Go Tre!! Not surprised by any of these moves. Mamu not being extended an offer suggests the Spurs may target centers in free agency (gotta spend that under the cap money). Having seen Barlow in the G-League as well as in SATX, he has huge defensive upside and a clear NBA career as a rotational piece.
I really didn’t see Mamu as any type of solution for anything needed on the roster. He was inconsistent. Tre is definitely good to bring back. Even if he isn’t the starter, he is a very valuable player to come off the bench. He won’t hurt us with his play. Barlow we’ll see. Champagnie, not really a big fan of. He was like a Romeo lite imo.
I had a question. The Spurs owned Charlotte pick for this year but it was protected! What happen to that pick now? Does the Spurs get the pick move to 2024 instead?
I like the Champ signing. Not much for Tre but we don't have much choice atm since he's still the best pg we have rn. And with Mamu, I'm starting to doubt Brian Wright. After Nuggets won bc of Jokic, the NBA is now all hyped for dynamic big men. Mamu will surely be coveted elsewhere and it'd be sad.

Come on people it's been like 40 years 🤣 that spurs put premium on defense than offense ,Mamu don't play alot of it compared to Barlow who occasionally block shots and play box defense ,so that's just that .and there is enough guys in our current line up who can score ,that rook cisko 😅can play yah gsg❗
I would be very disappointed if they don't keep Mamu. There's no reason to not keep him its not like he costs too much. Otherwise they just giving him to like the Suns or something and he will outperform. We have the cap space and roster space, sign Mamu
Maybe the spurs are gonna go get Jakob back so they'll have a plethora of big men on the roster. Obviously I think we'd all like Jakob back but man I thought Mamu was a lock. Hopefully he finds a way on our roster
I just don't see what other fans see in Barlow. He didn't seem to take advantage of the little time he had. Now Mamu really played well in the time he was on the court. He played with purpose and was always engaged in the game. He seems to have fit well in the system. I'm hoping they find a way to keep him. As far as Jones is concerned, I think the deal he got is very reasonable. If he can raise his 3 point average a little, he'll be raising his stock for his next contract with us or another team…and it won't be as friendly as this one. As I've told you before, you and I seem to think the same. Great minds think alike… : ) Great video as always man.
They probably want Sidy to fill the Mamu role…he seems like a pretty good passer as well and could probably bang and rebound in the same manner similar to what Dejuan Blair did in the past

I believe Mamu will be resigned probably for a cheaper contract if possible as for Barlow i believe his is a two-way contract
Defence at the 1 and 2 spot is our only weakness from what I can see. Wouldn't hurt to go after a high level defensive guard.

My Spurs are making STUPID decisions since Drafting Future Potential Draft BUST Wembanyama.
Mamu could be a Vital Sixth Man.
But….The Spurs still have some First Round Drafts in the next YEARS. Adjusting…..Spurs will be competitive again AFTER FIVE TO SEVEN YEARS.
Wemby will be the Attraction but will not be the Key for the Spurs.
I hope that Sochan, Vassell, and Johnson will develop to be above average players and next year's draft will be significant.
