It all comes crashing down when you’re out of the league lmao my favorite Waiters quote was when he said him and Kyrie were the best backcourt duo. He also allegedly punched Kyrie

  2. EvenShaman

I wonder if there is still room for Dion in the league

  3. spritehead

Damn almost like the players respect the Heat organization

  4. big4horryrobert

This guy isn’t the worst Dion in Florida.

  5. BBallHunter

I will never forget his push off during the inbound against Manu.

    Legend.

  6. Zestyclose-Beach1792

Whatever happens in his career he can still sleep well knowing he had a Rewatchables category named after him.

  7. OutlookNotGood

Well I hope he’s genuinely doing better now. There were some weird things that happened with that situation in Miami. Feels like there is a lot more that happened that we never heard about so I hope he’s doing okay.

man i really need glasses, i 100% read ‘[Chiang] Dion Waiters’ as ‘Celine Dion Waiters’ and was extremely confused for a moment there

Forgotten member of the bubble Lakers championship squad

He’ll always have voice acting to fall on if he never plays another NBA game.

  11. ObiOneKenobae

Did the ghost of careers past visit all these guys last weekend?

  12. MSHinerb

His realization and accountability is coming a bit too late for the NBA but I hope he gets a chance somewhere.

The Heat got the best version of Dion. He was legitimately an elite three level scorer for our 31-10 run. He bought in, lost weight, and was a team leader. He just couldn’t handle the success. It went to his head, and when we drafted Herro he turned into a Real Housewife of Miami.

It takes guys hitting rock bottom sometimes when so much has come easy to them throughout their lives to really have their wake up call moment and realize that playing in the NBA is a privilege and not something to take lightly. If you don’t put the effort into your craft and you don’t have the right attitude you can become an afterthought extremely quickly and teams will move on from you as soon as they can.

I’ll be rooting for Dion this year. He seems to have absolutely matured and have a grounded if somewhat also desperate perspective on his career, his failures, and his comeback attempt. He really could score. Just a reminder that being able to score, alone, isn’t enough to be a consistently impactful NBA player.

Wasn’t there reports that he ate a gummy and that led to a poor performance? Or some shit like that

  16. valleykid818MD

“NBA won’t penalize marijuana use starting 23-24 season”

Dion – “Man I messed up, y’all were good to me, take me back. Please (takes a hit 💨).

  17. snakejakemonkey

Imagine if instead of private workouts and 10 day contracts the NBA had a legit farm system

  18. CelinedionWaiters

I, for one would love to see Dion to play for Vegas

  19. Cudizonedefense

We still love your dumb ass Neon Dion. We’ll always have the shot against GS

  20. Background_Action_92

This speaks volume of the Heat too, it shows that are a ride or die organization

  21. OkImprovement1391

Waiters taking responsibility? Now I’ve seen it all! Keep it up, Dion!

  22. PoppySeeded17

Who have thought? That a young buck like you could actually… do the right thing

  23. Julen_23

Dude was, briefly, a fantasy Basketball gold mine….

  24. lslpotsky

Why are the ex Cleveland boys like this, him and kyrie? Did they bump heads in practice?

  25. Serious-Situation672

I hope accountability throws a party and invites my ex!

  26. j2tronic

What? Hasn’t this dude been out of the league for like 5 years? Lol

  27. I will always keep my El Heat jersey of this man for absolutely shredding the league for 18 games, his players tribune is top tier and I’m glad he’s still around

  28. ExpectedOutcome2

His legacy will be that he’s a category in the best movie podcast in the world

  29. blegfisen

    Yeah no shit Sherlock.
On that note, you got blessed with skills and luck that none of us redditors have. You mention the Heat, I believe in second chances, everyone can and will fuck up at some point in their life. So here is my wish, gib the man a 10day heat contract and let him show what he is all about, and how much he changed. Butler can be the drill sergent, lets go.

  30. ScrantonPennsylvania

Didn’t he take too many edibles that caused him to have a panic attack on team plane?

  31. Key-Cherry6709

NBA player’s’ disproportionate ego vs ability always crazy to me

  32. edencathleen86

Oh yeah. I had completely forgotten about this guy.

  33. myteriality

the shear thirst players are directing towards the heat organization after this finals run is out of control

  34. iCOULDbewr0ng

Didn’t know it has been 3 years already since he’s been out the league

    Damn

  35. mmaguy123

Miami heat is high risk high reward.

Either you buy into the heat culture or you go down the Zion rabbit hole at the Miami clubs every weekend.

  36. Pangloss_ex_machina

NBA Champion and Cavs Legend Dion “Dion Waiters” Waiters.

  37. Christoper1994

Pretty hard to come back once you are out, especially for multiple seasons, it’s incredibly hard to really come back.
Most teams would rather take their chances with undrafted but young guys like Reaves.

  38. I just realized that he’s only 31. Feels like he’s been around forever and out of the league just as long. I thought he was like 37. Wtf…

  39. Sea_Background5670

  40. AyyDelta

Ah, the “our so called leaders” era. Him and Whiteside almost broke Riley

  41. ThaNotoriousBLT

He should join the Mavs so that they can have the best backcourt in the west

  42. Guys are seeing the bag players are getting rn and are doing YouTube apology videos tryna get one last contract lollllll
