Harden’s stance has not changed, a source close to him told The Athletic. He still wants to leave Philadelphia. He’s still upset with how Morey handled his situation heading into possible free agency last month.
And even with the recent revelation that Harden attended the same NBPA party as Sixers co-star Joel Embiid and former Sixers owner Michael Rubin in Vegas he’s still determined to start next season in a Clippers jersey.

Harden: “Honey, please bring me my fat suit.”
Philly would be better off without Harden
So they didn’t want to pay him a longer deal, tricked him into opting in and now want to keep him. I would wanna leave too if I was Harden lol
Morey’s just being pissy because he’s not getting a package that would get a prime Harden
sounds like a hostage situation
Damn they really made an agreement for Harden to take a discount last year to bring in Tucker and House and in return he would get more money this year, then turn around and not pay him, Harden opts in on agreement he would be traded, and now they’re like “nope.”
Players are still gonna come play for the Sixers but I’d be wary about how they do business
Morey thinks he has houston harden on his hands lol
Shouldn’t have picked up your option then James!

He’s gonna be staying until the clippers offer atleast Mann, if not, welcome back james
It’s going to drag out.
The Harden stuff is all being put on the backburner because of the Dame stuff and that’s expected to drag out too.
LAC would be especially tough to nail down to a trade right now.
* They could go after Harden.
* If Morey starts demanding all their picks they’d be better off spending those on Dame instead.
* Weiss and Fischer have both reported LAC is still interested in Brogdon. Reports came out Brogdon never failed a medical, there just wasn’t enough time to get one done.
* They could also just wait to see if they can jump in as the 3rd team if Dame lands somewhere else.
They have options and it really doesn’t sound like Philly does. They’re probably just as comfortable with waiting as Philly is.
Not one bit of Raptors news damn
If only James Harden was a free agent this offseason and could sign with any team he wanted.
The only way I see this getting done without the Clippers offering PG is involving a third team. Bulls send Lavine to Philly, Philly sends Harden to LAC, and LAC sends draft capital to Chicago. Unless Morey gets a star level player back, I just don’t see why it makes any sense for us to pull the trigger on a trade now when Harden has basically no leverage. If he wants a long term deal then his best bet is to play well next year for Philly, not have a meltdown in the second round of the playoffs again, and actually increase his value.
It does feel like this is getting to a point where stars have very little value on the trade market anymore. I don’t think this particular situation is going to go well for either party
Morey thinks he can convince Harden to come around to the idea of playing in Philly this season and that he’s uniquely positioned to be the one to smooth things over here with James. That they can get in a room and hash things out between each other. I wouldn’t be so sure he’s right about that theory.
I’d be gun shy too with Harden disappearing in those pivotal playoff games of 6 and 7
Clippers might move Mann but I don’t see it. If anything Harden has no chance since he opted in. The whole reason he did that was for the guaranteed money that nowhere else is willing to offer. If he comes in and tanks the season, he’ll not have the market that he wants to have when he is a free agent. So front Philly’s perspective, why not try and call his bluff? Play for us and play well since it’s your contract year or flounder.
Lol at this sub getting pissy because Morey won’t give Harden away.
It’s literally the Simmons situation all over again.
And I must’ve missed the part where a gun was held to his head to opt into his deal.
I wonder how that turned out when was forced to stay longer that he wanted in Houston and Nets….
I wouldnt even trade moose diabetes for this lazy ass
Harden could’ve been a free agent, but opted in. Sixers/Morey bad…. How could they do this to him????
Dude is never happy anywhere he goes
I can’t believe anyone gave any weight to him attending that party with Embiid.
Fat Harden bout to make a comeback.
Harden is not a player worth giving up depth and picks for at this stage.
Morey deserves the full fat suit Harden treatment, this is gonna get messy and I am here for it
This is what modern day slavery looks like and it’s not cool. He doesn’t want to be in Philadelphia so they should trade him. Morally and ethically unacceptable to force him to play for a team he doesn’t want to. It’s time to stop the boot licking of the owners and act like this is in anyway okay to be allowed to happen in 2023.
Ok of all player empowerment moves this has to be the farthest haha. At least with other trade demands one, the situation changed. Harden could have gone to the clippers but instead opted in. He wants free agency AND contract security at the same time
THIS. ISN’T. FREE. AGENCY.
Headline one year from today: Harden seeks trade from Clippers
Eventually one team isn’t going to back down from one of these players forcing their way out.
Wait he really thinks he gets to choose where he goes? Nice joke harden. You’re the most unreliable player ever just like Kyrie. You have no say about trades after requesting one every damn season lol
No one made him opt in
he was a free agent and no one offered him close to 35 million so he crawled back to take the team option because he cares more about the money. If he didnt want to be here all he had to do was take less.
He just wanted the the best deal and this was it. This is not him acting in good faith so the sixers get assets or any other weird conspiracy theory you guys want to make up.
This whole time I assumed that the two sides has discussed this ahead of time and had a some kind of sign and trade plan in place ahead of time, I very clearly have everyone involved too much credit
Omg he only be one team on his list!?
Why is the picture for this a picture of Dame lol, Harden’s blurred and in the background….
Why would the sixers want to keep him, did no one watch how he played in the last 2 games in the playoffs especially in the 4th quarter
Outside of the contract and years remaining, which is a huge factor, here’s the main difference between Harden and Dame’s situation. Sixers are currently a major contender for the championship, and they want to win it. If Harden is a malcontent, that hurts the Sixers goal. His value will drop, further hurting the Sixers goal. The longer it drags out, the less leverage they have in a trade.
Portland is rebuilding, so if Dame sits out or becomes a malcontent, that doesn’t change Portland’s goal, and in fact could help their goal by potentially landing them a better draft position. It doesn’t alter Dame’s value and allows Portland to play the long game until they can trade him for the desired return value.
Is there any situation where a 3 team trade works that sends Dame to Philly, Harden to the third team, and Portland receives assets from both?
James Harden not run from the grind challenge (impossible)
I’m literally shaking. How could he only put one team on his list? Sixers should send him to the team with the best package. A team like Utah makes all the sense in the world
Jesus at this point if these whiny ass players are gonna be this way just make the league 4 teams in LA, Miami, and NYC
How much help do the Clippers need to get to the second round of the playoffs? 😂
So the Clippers are going to have three starters who don’t show up for the playoffs?
Great plan
