I don’t agree with everything here but it provides a good chart to see what the team can look like and we are already pretty much set. I wouldn’t be that comfortable at giving 20 minutes to Hauser at 3, rather I would prefer Jaylen at 3 more. So I would cut 8 minutes from Hauser and also 4 from Brisset and give those minutes to Pritchard. (I’d do it even just to keep him going until playoffs.) I am not sure if he feels those minutes are enough for him tough.

Oh, btw, if you turn off javascript in your browser, you can read The Athletic website without paying. You can turn javascript off for spesific websites while keeping it turned on for others from settings.

The thing with Pritchard is he’s pretty much a “spot player”, as in you have to pick your spots with him. Not sure he can be a full on rotation guy just because the defensive liability. Tough to play him in close games in the 4th quarter or playoffs.

Payton Pritchard will be the starting PG by Christmas

PP sometimes has confidence issues similar to D White. He’s a dawg like we saw in Bucks series and he unfortunately we didn’t see any of that in regular season (except the last game) or playoffs.

We damn need him now that Smart is gone or Brogdon injury.

Just thought about this… bit of fluff:

We now have a center with the initials KP and a point guard who has an alliterative name for the first time since the KG Celtics era…

Btw, everybody is focusing on Pritchard thing naturally, but there is a full rotation chart with on and off minutes in the article. I like Brogdon minutes for example, as he was really better in those minutes at the end of quarters 1 and 3 and at the start of 2 and 4. We should keep it that way and especially use him when Tatum is not on the court. On the other hand, i would like to exchange some minutes between Al and Rob, to see Porzingis and Rob together more.

He doesn’t fit in anywhere. Prichard is on a cheap contract so they will continue to pay him to be the 8th 9th 10th guy.

Answer: right now he’s probably the 9th or 10th man. He’ll play more than last year, but less than he feels he deserves. And maybe he gets moved at the deadline. I feel like he could be a 20 minutes per game guy on lower seed playoff team. 7th man on a decent team, but a for a team that has championship aspirations, he should be lower in the pecking order.

If Gabe Vincent can be a crucial player on a Finals team, then no way Pritchard can’t carve out a role on next year’s team.

Way I see it is after our Top 7, him and Hauser are fighting for that 8th spot, and it will depend on form and matchup.

I’d like to see PP get better at creating shots for his teammates. Sometimes he dribbles way to much with no where to go.
