The Jaylen Brown Contract Is WEIRD…

Jaylen Brown has a supermax contract offer on the table from the Boston Celtics, but he hasn’t signed it yet. Why?

  1. This is sickening to me… Wow someone getting paid 304M over 5 years to play a freaking game… that is insane! I'm about done with the NBA and pro sports in general

  2. I don't blame him for taking the money in any way shape or form, because he knows he's not worth this contract… But, Boston just shot themselves in the foot…..

  3. They still don’t have a reliable playmaker. So they are not going to win a championship….!!!!🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

  4. The problem he might have is that he doesn't agree with you on the success the Celtics have been getting. The team right now is known as choke city. They always underperform in the playoffs. They should've one at least once already if not 3 times. I wouldn't be surprised if Brown wanted to stand out as a great player elsewhere to show that it was all on Tatum and the coaching.

  5. If Danny Ainge was still in charge of the Celtics he would've traded JB for 2 All Stars + 10 unprotected 1st round picks lol

  6. If you think that you don't pay for their salary by not going to games and buying merch, your dentist paid 20k for a trip with his family to a finals game. Your premiums are gonna go up to make up for it. Just an example but you get the idea.

  7. Don't know why you think Jaylen is going to ask out. The Celtics' plan is to keep contending. I'm sure Tatum will also sign the super max. They'll try to win a championship. If they aren't able to do that in the long term, then the team will take a call move both their stars.

  8. Boston is genius. They sign brown to 300 million and then trade him to a eastern conference team and force him left for 4 free wins a season.

  9. This is getting ridiculous. Change the rule to you can’t trade a player with more than 2 years left on their deal. No more signing a 5 year deal and demanding a trade a year later. You get to choose between more money, or the team you want to play for. You don’t get both. From the team side, you can either commit to building around the player or you can let him walk. No more Blake Griffen situations. Win-win.

  10. its just for news timing, for muppets to play around with online… obviously done ages ago

  11. Why do you guys keep assuming the Celtics are going to trade Jaylen Brown?

He's not going anywhere. The $304 million contract should already tell you the Celtics are not trading him.

  12. The Celtics will immediately regret this. He disappears in the playoffs.

  13. How is he a max contract player if you’re questioning whether or not you would even pay him the max if you were a team

  14. jaylen brown to the hawks just makes sense in my eyes. in exchange for dejonte murray and other filler to make the contracts work.

  15. He isn't a number 1 on a championship team, but he will take up cap space like one. Celtics are now stuck, unless they blow it up.

  16. For some reason this makes the 4yrs-$80m that Dillon Brooks got seem like a vet minimum. Guarantee this won’t be the last weird contract before the season starts.

  17. Jaylen Brown is your new John Collins, you're obsessed with speculating about his future lol

  18. Great point about how players now are signing contracts to play in the NBA, not for their specific team anymore 💡👍

  19. People complaining about JB contract don't know shit about the NBA.. LoL JB is duh a 300M max… Celtics cant offer him anything under 300M so its pay the man or let him walk.
But dont worry JT is going to make 320-360M 5yr… depends how much JT can milk out of Celtics. LoL hell, Celtics might be dumb enough to give JT 400M/5yr. LMAO

  20. Jaylen Brown should not be the highest paid player in NBA history. He’s not even the best player on his team. I can name 12 players better. 1. Jokic 2. Giannis 3. Steph 4. Tatum 5. Jimmy 6. KD 7. Luka 8. Embiid 9. AD 10. Booker 11. D. Mitchell 12. Maront 13. Dame. I don’t think he’s even better than Kyrie

  21. I understand making an all NBA team grants you the supermax contract but i juat don't see anyone in yhay vategory sign dor 40mil a year…. Players either make 20 mil a year or 60 mil theres no in between and i see a peoblem there in the NBA and its duture with the aprons. I love melo ball and haliburton and ant edeards but i guess being young and an allstar caliber guy gets you 50mil a year right off the bat….

So many 10-20 mil a year guys, veey few 30-45 mil a yeat guys then loads of 50-60mil a year…. Parity is weird

  22. The CBA really should have inserted a clause where if you request a move and you’re on a super max contract, it reverts back to just a max deal. You have guys like Dame who last season signed a two year supermax extension to his already three year deal that doesn’t even kick in until 2025 and he got that because he’s a drafted Portland player and drafted players get more. But it’s Miami who will have to pick up that tab. What’s the point of creating the super max to keep drafted players from leaving if they can just sign the contract and leave anyway 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  23. Yeah the contract is ultimately with the NBA. You just changing the venue. Loyalty? Please. It's basketball, not a goddamnd Roman Legion. Go back to your political fandom please and make woke or go america great. What-effing ever. Leave basketball out of it 😂

  24. Your video narrative is weird, you mostly talked about (and assumed) that JB will be asking to be traded in a year or 2 instead of talking about the impact of the salary etc…the video is mostly rooted on assumptions…

  25. They ain't winning anytime soon. If JT chokes on big games they ain't winning anything. Idc if KP plays well. They just lost the dog on this team. If no one steps up and be the true leader of this team come playoffs time they are doomed.

  26. JB has now entered into the top 5 most overrated players in the league.

    Top 5 most overrated players:
    1. Chris Paul
    2. Joel Embiid
    3. Devin Booker
    4. James Harden
    5. Jaylen Brown

  27. Harden and Dame haven't been moved yet, if you haven't noticed. Even Durant didn't get traded until the Nets found a way to make it work for them. This "new era" exists primarily in your imagination.
