Whatever happens.. All we had going into this off-season was the number 10 overall pick, and we had to tank the last 2 games of the season just to keep it. Outside of the Mavs getting a superstar, we had a homerun off-season! Just gotta hope that everyone gels together, and that we can make a trade at the deadline to improve even more. 🙏

A player like pascal siakam would be PERFECT for this team, we need a big forward who can guard guys like giannis, jimmy and can score too, he'd be perfect for us
I think they had a damn good offseason . They looked like they had no hope a couple months ago , now with how they drafted and the players they signed with the little money they had they are in a much better place
They're in NBA purgatory. Their roster consists of… -the legitimate star player in Luka -the dude who if he’s there physically and/or mentally is a great first or second option in Kyrie -the recent signee thats probably overpaid in Grant Williams -the most generic bench guys ever in Hardaway Jr, Seth Curry, Javale McGee etc. -Good but probably not great young talent in Jaden Hardy, Josh Green, Dereck Lively II etc.
Teams like this are fun and enjoyable to watch but rarely find success. They need to go out and get some legitimate, veteran starting and key role player talent. A bigman like Clint Capela and a wing like Dorian Finney-Smith (lol) would do wonders for this kinda team. At this point you gotta kinda say f the picks and vets/young guys and make a push for some dudes. I have no idea what it'd take to get a Clint Capela but you gotta be willing to part with some assets to recoup someone who will actually help your team
I appreciate your time spent on the Mavs. I honestly think they are a dark horse team this year. I think they are a playoff team and I don’t think anyone will want to play them. Luka goes nuclear in the playoffs and you won’t be able to contain him and Kyrie. They have some competitors on defense now that won’t make things so easy on the perimeter, although rim defense is still not great. If Lively can give solid defensive minutes by the time playoffs come around, I think they have a real shot at another run to a conference finals.

hawks were 29th in paint points allowed last season, and hawks defense was just significantly worse with capela on than off. he had the worst defensive rating on the team and it wasn't particularly close. he just looks like a shell of himself on that end
