  1. Is this based on accomplishments or aesthetics. Because accomplishment wise there is no way Jokic is over Giannis. Like you have to bet on how you think Jokic will be better than Giannis in the future, because Giannis has accomplished more. Disappointed in this assessment by Jason

  2. "World champion" used to be thrown around a lot for championships in MLB and NFL. I think that may be where the confusion came from.

  3. If Giannis and Jokic would retire today i still think Dirk would have had a slightly better career than both of them. They both need one or two more consistant seasons to overtake Dirk. Pretty sure they both get there but i don't think they're already there.

  4. We all know you don’t play NBA level basketball but with your knowledge and your skill set, do you think you could have played in the G league or something? And if not what do you think you would have needed to do to play in it?

  5. With a full season ahead which Coach has the greatest chance to transform their team? I.e. hawks, rockets, suns, bucks, Philly

  6. The raptors aren’t an American team
 So world champions! đŸ€Ł

  7. Love these lists, one thought is maybe You should add a “perfect robin” to this list for each player. Would be cool to see your thoughts on how certain players would complement each other

  8. NBA is like Champions League in European football. Whoever wins Champions League is the best club in European football but also is considered to be the best football club in the world, since all the best teams and leagues are in Europe and all the best players around the world are playing for those teams. NBA championship is peak level in club basketball worldwide. That said, world champions are the ones who win the World Cup.

  9. Fair ranking. Too soon to rank him higher though he'll continue climbing lists in coming years. Two things Jason implied but didn't actually say. First, Jokic is now clearly the most offensively skilled and versatile true big in league history. And he's also clearly the greatest passing true big in league history. He's at least as good an outlet, high post, mid post and low post passer as previous great passing bigs like Walton and Sabonis while routinely executing passes in transition and off the dribble as point center that previous bigs never even attempted. In 8 seasons he's already historic, which is crazy if you think about it.

  10. Question for Jason: For about 200 years, Newton was the greatest physicist of all time, because no one physicist’s contributions could be compared to his. His worldview dominated physics. Einstein’s worldview, on the other hand, as wonderful as it was, was shown to have limitations by people working in quantum physics. His era of dominance was, hence, short. Does that then make him a lesser physicist than Newton? Because people caught up with Einstein should he be seen on a pedestal lower than Newton?

  11. He's unguardable and makes everyone else better. I see him climbing this list until he's top 3.

  12. This was a terrible argument, he argued Jokic is a good player but not why he is deserving to be a top 10 player in the past 25 years.

Jokic is absolutely the best player of 2023, he had 3 all time great seasons and 4 solid seasons.

  13. Thank you for acknowledging Curry is a better player individually than Duncan and Magic on the All Time Greatest Player list. Jokic plays the game the right way at the highest level of basketball IQ, on the other hand, Magic had better players on his team than most others so he pushed the ball and made passes but if he was able to score consistently as well with his frame, he would be rank higher without being bias because he changed the game. As for Duncan, like you said, he was just average in 2014 and In 2007, they should've lost to a Nash's Suns if it weren't for the incident in Game 5 the Western Conference Finals. Both great players, but if Jokic is 8th and Curry is probably 2nd on your list because you're a Lebron fan, which is fine, then he has surpassed Magic and Duncan as players.

  14. The big thing Bout jok he will get physical with you on both ends seeing how ad shyed away from him on offense to the point of being a jump shoter when jok was defending ad
And his head stays up to read the floor when ever his pivots in the paint.

  15. I love these series but I still have a problem with number #14-13 can someone explain why Nash would be higher than Iverson I don’t see it One player have more accolades & been to the finals the other haven’t with a debatable mvp 👀👀👀

  16. Seriously – who are you and what have you done to Jason Timpf?
I remember Jason Timpf well… he wasn't a big fan of Nikola Jokic, at times he'd say some outrageous things about him just to put him down or to throw a doubt/shade at his success.

I liked that Jason Timpf… He was going with the flow, parroting the BS "nba media" was selling, and he was not too obnoxious about it. He wasn't that insightful, was kinda predictable and a bit cringy – but sort of entertaining for few minutes.

Now… IDK… If you're related in any way to the original Jason Timpf, or god forbid, you're the new&improved mature and enlightened Jason Timpf – is this now the "mainstream" narrative?
Is this what we're selling now? Is this the wave we're riding?

    It's confusing, you'd agree I'm sure… One day we're something, then tomorrow – we're something completely different. It's discouraging.

What message does this send to children!? They know they can't transform like that overnight!?

P.S. I just figured it out… You're going all-in on something that everyone is agreeing on now… Smart move. Not exceptionally original, but smart… And in character.

  17. Finally somebody said that Jokic actually runs more than most centers in the league. There is a clip where Ayton sits exhausted on the bench in awe saying "How big is Jokic, he can run bro… " Jokic is one of the best conditioned players in the league, and all we hear in the media is that he is slow footed, can't move fast to get past guys, but he is just big and lays on other smaller players…

  18. Why is Jokic ranked higher than Giannis when Giannis had more All Star, more First Team All NBA, More All NBA, 5 time All defensive, 4 time First Defensive and a Defensive Player of the Year. Using your logic of dominance, I'd argue than Giannis had a longer and more dominant period than Jokic.

  19. I beg to differ Giannis has so much impact on defense that jokic will never have. Offensively giannis and jokic are closed with jokic slightly ahead because he can shoot. But, defensively there is no conversation between Giannis and Jokic. For his size Jokic has yet to make a defensive team. Basket is offense and defense. Stop ranking player based on offence only.

  20. Mailbag Question: What do you look for in a player to tell that he has “feel for the game”? Also, what is your definition of “feel for the game”?

  21. My small opinion on NBA and World championship
to me NBA is like Hollywood..we all know its from America yet we treat it like it represents all of us movie enthusiasts globally
same with NBA

  22. just to ppl who are questioning this
if it wasn’t for the racist pundits out there like Bum Perkins, he would’ve been a 3X, 3peat MVP.

to ppl who said Embiid deserved it clearly thinks that individual stats trumps team success. which is asinine. and mind you Embiid’s numbers weren’t that much better at all AND he ducked Jokic cus he was too scared to compete against him. some MVP 🙄

  23. MAILBAG: since the next video will likely be about Dwyane Wade, who is also my favorite player, I wanted to submit a question:

You mentioned in your criteria that being the SECOND best player in a championship team is one of the things you value most (more than MVPs, All-NBAs, etc.) I agree, but oftentimes the second best player gets overlooked and forgotten. Can you go into detail about why being the second best player on a championship team is important to you, and why sacrifice is an important element in being great in basketball (and most team sports)?

(This is also relevant for players further up the rankings like Kobe Shaq Duncan and Steph)

  24. How do you consider Giannis a perimter player when he struggles to make anything that isn't a layup or dunk? Giannis is absolutely a physically dominant big man. Jokic is more perimeter oriented than Giannis.

  25. Mailbag Question: What would you change about sports shows or debate shows and how they alter public perceptions of NBA players?
