Takeaways. Nurk wasnt the problem. Simons is buns. Sell the team. Ayton is ALREADY pouty.
In no way shape or form can you draw any conclusions this early. The domino affect of your point guard getting his feet wet for the first time was evident. I don't expect the rotation to look anything like that and we are gonna have a rotation that includes Robert Williams III. I saw flashes of amazing potential and given the short time that they have been together, it's encouraging. Just like any other major sport, once you get actual game film against NBA quality opponents you can actually start teaching shit. The jump in quality of play from last nights game to the next one is gonna be night and day. In my opinion, Shaedon Sharpe does not belong in the starting lineup and playing a team like the Suns made that very clear. I think our identity early on is gonna have to be defense. Having Scoot, Thybulle and Ayton start the game will set a better tone on the D. Imagine if we had RW III last night, he would have been matched up against Eubanks. I will predict this. That 2nd unit with Brogdon, Sharpe and Williams is gonna be money. If Chauncy can get a fluid rotation of good to great defense it will make the offense easier for the young guys. Teams will struggle to match up with us, especially that 2jnd unit.
Ayton played below his average and still looked pretty good. Preseason, it’s all good.
Scoot looked great. Sharpe needs to play 30 minutes a night as he needs to be on the floor long enough to get into a flow so he can play without thinking about it too much.

My early impression is that this team should be playing for 24/25 rather than 23/24. Get the young guys in the games as much as possible. Also play Malcolm Brogdon & Matisse Thybull to increase their trade vaules for a midseason trade. I believe winning games will be a matter of out scoring teams rather than stopping them from scoring.

This guys voice is very annoying, how can you guys listen to him for an hour. I turned him off after 5 min. DA will be barely be above average player , but hoping the best for you Blazer fans.

At deadline need to trade grant Brogdon and maybe next year trade ant 🐜.. ayton is and La power forward with these next couple trades get a legit big guy.. I want sharpe at his natural position a two guard.. ant 🐜 is instant offense off bench like a Jason terry on a good team.. scoot going to win rookie of the year.. this year wins don’t matter all about development of young guys and Chauncey might be the perfect coach because he is garbage 🗑️ top 5 pick here we come Ron holland
If Billups can’t teach fast enough then go get a college coach that’s used to teaching.
They looked just how I thought they’d look, flashes of what could be with a healthy helping of why it’ll take some time. Billups coaching looks subpar as always and our weakest link. But think these guys could get decent chemistry by Jan/Feb and then really get some fun highlights. Definitely need to figure out who the alpha is soon.
Can't really draw any impressions from one pre season game. All I'm hoping for is an entertaining and encouraging 28-32 win season where the young guys improve. Then get another top 5 pick for Schmitz to work with.
And to get something good for Brogdon in trade. Maybe Grant too.
Oh, also for the Warriors to have a down year and give the Blazers like the 10th-15th pick or so.
A year like that would put the Blazers in a really good place going into year 2 of the new incarnation.
