Great all-around game by the Cs guards. Only 2 games…but Jrue is a level above Smart. (I'm not bashing Smart) because I was a big fan. But Holiday is a little better defensively and offensively.
Heβs gonna be so good at the mid season mark when he establishes full chemistry with the Celtics
He made a play every time they needed one to stay in it down the stretch. Heβs going to be soooo huge for this team, his game fits so well. Heβs such a winning player.
One thing I love about this backcourt is that both Holiday and White aren't just faster than the other team expects — they're under *control*. They're not just moving fast, they're also thinking fast. When you watch Jrue go up for that block, he's not just jumping and reaching and hoping. He goes up, he's watching the ball, and he slaps it away at the right moment. His operating speed is extremely high.
With him, White, and Pritchard all capable of that kind of speed without getting ahead of themselves, I feel a lot better about closing out the fourth quarter.
Celtics look on stoppable. If you double one of them, youβre leaving someone open. Not good.
The play when PorziΕΔ£is grab the rebound over love and Bam and then just dunked it. Only a unicorn can do something like that.
Gonna be crazy when we get smart and Williams back for the low
People worried about the bench, they will be more used vs the sorry teams to see who fits in, this early in the szn the top 6 need to play alot together to get their identity and chemistry down.

I'll be honest. As a Celts fan I liked getting Holiday but thought we might have given up too much to get him. But after the first 2 games, I have to admit I hadn't realized what a scary player Holiday is. He's fast, a great ball handler, and absolutely HUGE in the backcourt. One of the best things about Marcus Smart was his size and strength which contributed to his great defense. Holiday looks every bit as strong, if not stronger. When he dips his shoulders and drives downhill, I don't see too many guards who can guard him at all. Seamless addiiton.
The Damion lillard trade was the best thing to happen for Celtics to have them part ways with Holiday, I was upset Marcus smart was traded but just 2 games in and I have more confidence in holiday both on defense and when he gets more comfortable his offense will improve but I have more confidence that in a tight spot Holiday wonβt make an Iβll advised pass or turn over like Marcus Smart!
