Keegan Murray passes up a 3, travels. Mike Brown: “SUB, SUB, SUB”. Tells Sasha Vezenkov to go to the scorer table, but they can’t sub Murray out in time. Fox finds Keegan for 3 the next trip down, Keegan drills it. Mike Brown tells Vezenkov to sit back down.

Mike Brown is such a goddamn bully to Keegs lol

Keegan Murray getting the Tony Parker treatment

  3. Standard_Landscape_6

That’s why he’s coach of the year holds everyone accountable and will yell at you

  4. jawadhaque089

Would he have benched him if he missed the open shot?

  5. I thought I’ll get over it after one season. Still miss him in GS camp

  6. xGrav1ty

That’s not even a travel but maybe i’m stupid

  7. Blackmalico32

Lol goddamn. Keegan better stop playing with Brown 🤣

This is old style of coaching. Mike is going to force these players to get better, and fit his system or get benched. If you are weak willed its not going to mesh for some. Its refreshing to see this style of coaching again but I honestly do wonder if its going to keep working later on. Authoritative coaching with coaches picking scheme over players compared to players coaching with coaches trying to uplift their guys and keep on course using their stars.

I do think he is a bit hard on Keegan though, but if its the gameplan and Keegan is completely afraid of it, then I understand his frustrations. I honestly am a big fan of Mike Brown. I really think he is the type of coach that actually builds cores, without having to be gifted them first but I do wonder if he will get any hard feelings from his guys. Shouldnt happen since everybody should be professionals but I am sure some of them see other teams with “cool” coaches that are alot of positive reinforcement compared to Mikes hard nose style.

Is it just a bad camera angle or was that not a travel at all? He shifts his pivot feet back before putting the ball on the floor, what was the ref smoking?

    EDIT: I meant ‘non-pivot foot’

Would have been a cool ending if he knocked down the game winner.

I mean this is what a young team needs. You fuck up and hesitate when you have a wide open shot as an ELITE 3-pt shooter, you get benched. You make the right play, and make the shot you get rewarded.

Mike Brown could have coached Cousins knowing how much of a hard headed coach you have to be.

Cousins respected old school coaches that holds you accountable like Malone.

Fox is a bro for this. He knew exactly what he was doing

I’m glad reddit caught this cuz it had me in stitches

Publicly threatening to sub you out like that is actually a hilarious motivator to play better.

If Mike Brown can’t tolerate a sequence like that from Keegan Murray, how does Ime Udoka manage the Rockets?

Mike Brown has done a great job to turn around the Kings. But he’s still a liability for their future. He lost Game 7 sitting Davion Mitchell all game for no reason. Shoulda sat Sabonis. He’s shown in clutch situations he’s gunna f it up I hope I’m wrong.

Did anyone catch the missed high five at the end?

  19. moneyinthebank216

Literally threatened him with the hook lol

Vezenkov fantasy coaches got a little hard for a minute there. (I may be the only one lol).

  21. LyonsKing12

I love that they all dapped him up like he was coming back from playing…lol

I love Mike Brown holy crap. That’s good coaching. If you’re not gonna shoot it, I’ll put someone in that will, when you let it fly and play my way, you’ll keep in.
I genuinely think even if he missed it, Mike still might’ve kept him in there

What is the point of the NBA calling this a travel? It’s not a travel. I’m getting so sick of them calling any slight up-fake or hesitation into a dribble from the perimeter a travel. His pivot foot stays down. They let Giannis take 5 steps but the rest of the NBA isn’t allowed to dribble from the perimeter into the paint.

  24. Honestly its so wild to me they call that a travel (maybe barely lifts the pivot before ball leaves hand/hits ground, whichever one it is) when there’s guys routinely taking a full 2-3 steps before starting their dribble.

The absolute dogshit state of travelling pisses me off maybe more than they should. Early 2022-23 season when refs called all those travels is just the icing on the cake – proof that they see everything just don’t call it on purpose. These are the best players in the world (supposedly), playing by the rules won’t hurt.
