Totally different tram, and they haven't played 5 games together! Why are y'all discussing this
Robert makes a good point. JG hasn't shown anything new by year 3. He still drives the same way as in his rookie season, forcing his way in without a plan and having abysmal efficiency on layups. He still chucks away the same way. He can still be a volume scorer and earn maybe one or 2 All-Star in his career based on that, but he will most probably never be your best player on a championship team.
I haven't heard anyone mention this, but am I the only one who noticed that Jalen did actually show a noticeable increase in effort against the Warriors? He needs to improve immensely… but I did see him pounding the board more and I noticed how he rushed in to try to get his own rebound on his free throw miss. His efficiency needs to improve and his shot selection needs to get a lot better… what I really don't understand is why he always stands in the corner and doesn't move or work to get himself open or into a shot position? It seems that you create opportunity for yourself by moving. Is there a strategy there that I don't understand?
Yes let’s give them time to develop under ime but let’s lower our expectation with this team this season, I know ime wanted playoff straight away bcos he must have thought kpj, green & jabari would take giant leaps. But that haven’t been the case. So let the Rockets use this season to discover who they really are.let them not put pressure on themselves by focusing on playoff
Great video. Congrats. Jalen and Jabari could not be starters on any contending team with their low efficiencies. Ime should take out the pressure on those young kids. Should limit their minutes, give time to develop their games and maybe they will gain confidence with less responsibilities.
And Stone's wrong roster constraction is ruining the team. Instead of giving 43m to FVV, Rockets could get any decent PG around 20m, do not have to be elite, FVV is not elite on anything either and one solid SG plus one defensive back up center for the remaining 20m.
Trade green and jabari to Philly for Emid. Develop Amen and Cam
3 game and you judging him for that jalen is still adjusting to udoka system
Called Granpa Their Favorite Rockets Expert 😭😭😭😭 That 🤡 Don't Know Basketball
Good Good commentary
Good vid as usual Mr. Land. I agree to a point on Jalen but I believe there's some factors to consider that we haven't. I'm about to make a video on that real quick.
What about his TO. His TO is the most in this team now.
Where is Cam. I think he has more potential than Jalen. Dudes going to be a beast.
To label JG or even put him in the category of a bust after 2 years at 21 years old is wild. I agree with a lot of what you and Frank said about him having to learn how to get to move without the ball and get a go to move/shot. However, most players develop that later on in their careers. If you look at JG shooting percentages/production from when Kobe was 19-21 years old in 1998-2000 they’re eerily similar. Kobe developed the fadeaway and learned how to get to his spots once he worked on his legs and got stronger over time. Jalen is still learning the game and putting on mass. He’ll be fine as the main guy on a contender, as long as he has a running mate big (hopefully Al P). We saw Kobe’s teams look bad without Phil Jackson and Shaq/Pau as well. Relax and give the guy time to figure it out.
I got to say jabari's been the biggest disappointment so far. The one thing he was supposed to do is hit open shots and he can't even do that at this point. I'd like to see Cam out there more personally
He doesn't move like a star but Shai didn't either and you see what he is now. Jalen needs help with his leadership.
don't worry none of his batch has shown a star or super star status in their year so far, if we label JG bust then cade Scottie mobley and many others should be included.
Any man who paints his nails and flaunts it is gay. There is a video in the ether of him dry humping another man in a public setting. That means other people were present. The boy is not man, he belongs in the WNBA. I am speaking about Jalen Green.
As a Pistons fan I check in on Jalen since he & Cade went 1 and 2. I’m not here to bash the guy because Cade is nice but has plenty of flaws. What I don’t like most when I see Jalen is that when he’s on the bench and a teammate on the court makes a huge play, he doesn’t get excited like an unselfish teammate would do. He seems to be only concerned about his game and not a team game. And you guys got a steal in Cam Whitmore🔥
The problem is the system. It perpetrates craziness. And it also sucks that 80% of population is dumb. So that system will be there. But let's talk sensibly for a while and assume people are smart…EFF and PM are your stats and Jalen sucks at those. He needs to look at those to see why, despite high scoring outputs, he has poor EFF and PM.
EFF — looks at totality of available stats — good AND bad. His bads are FG%, ATO, rebounds. Those deducts from his goods, which are points. So if all are smart people, in 10 games people will already be asking for him to be given less minutes if he does not improve his EFF.
PM – over a season, a PM tells how a person defends, hustles, helps teammates. He has bad PM.
If EFF and PM are the basis on basketball players instead of triple doubles and points, rebounds, etc. Jalen would have either improved himself or been assigned for skills improvement whether in G League or just internally. The current system would not have failed the Rockets fans, and in effect, Jalen.
You guys are great. Keep at it. I was quiet for the entire Rockets team because I believe we were purposely tanking for Jalen, Jabari/Paolo and lastly Wemba. Now there's no excuse. I'll be on lookout on your great content forward and Subscribed!
Fastforward to today, Jalen (ZG) had a nice game against Hornets. They won and he produced 5 assists and really handled the double teaming on him in the final stretch. His PM shot up to +11. Could be a calculation mistake but that's what I see on statmuse.
