Okay Forbes valued the Mavs at around $4.5b and apparently the Adelson family filed with the SEC they were selling $2b in shares to fund the purchase of a sports franchise. So it is definitely a sizable share (but under 50%).
EDIT: apparently it is for a majority according to Shams
Hopefully it’s the first step to getting one of the worst owners in basketball out of this franchise.

Guess now we know why they scheduled Dirk to appear on the broadcast tonight? Mark’s running out of feel-good options involving Dirk to throw at us when something gross happens. Even after 35 years of loyalty, it’s going to be nearly impossible to root for a team owned by Miriam Adelson.

Cuban is getting older. All the Cuban haters will miss him when he is gone. He is a great owner and does more community work than any other sports owner in the Dallas area. He saved the Mavs from years of mediocrity and irrelevance.
Mark also stepped away from shark tank recently. Makes me wonder if something is happening behind the scenes that’s about to come out
