Ever since stepping down as the Knicks general manager this summer Scott Perry, after joining ESPN, has been very vocal on his thoughts with the Knicks and what upgrades they should make and so much more. Recently in an interview with the Hoops Genius Podcast, Scott Perry discussed players the Knicks could target and was asked about NY pursuing OG Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors. He also provides insight regarding the biggest issue the Knicks are facing as a team currently. Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!

Quite frankly even without the lawsuit I’m not sure the trade would’ve happened because Masai Ujiri is too focused on his own ego and winning trades by asking for too much. If I was the Knicks I’m not giving them more than 1 unprotected first round pick due to OG being a FA next year and could potentially leave. The Knicks are better off targeting Mikal Bridges because the Brooklyn Nets aren’t going anywhere and nobody gives a fuck about them. Heck even when they had KD and Kyrie people still cared about the Knicks more. They could also go after Dorian Finney Smith tbh.
Everything that Scott perry said and yourself is so true you cant be more right so far for the OG part i love the idea of OG joining the Knicks im all in but tell me this if we do get OG than what will happen with Donovan Mitchell he plays the 2 and if we have RJ at the 2 yeah and i actually want both OG and D Mitchell on the Knicks
Raptor fans believe they will lose him in Free Agency. He will only agree on a $25-30M per year deal. Will the Knicks want to pay OG that and IQ? Probably not. I could see a deal for OG. Its good business. Emotions need to be set aside. Otherwise both parties could lose. OG is playing out of his SF position and playing SG. Knicks probably trade Quickley and Fournier for OG. Quick would need to agree to sign with the Raptors long term as a starter. As for Fournier French is a common language spoken in Canada. He will fit right in there. I could see a trade in February. Scott is probably helping soften the blow to Knicks fans when IQ is traded.

I'll take OG over D Mitch. We don't need a star. We just need that 1 piece that will enhance the game of everyone on the team.
So I understand what Scott Perry is saying. I'd love OG or Mikal for the right price. Here's my issue, can RJ guard 2 guards on a regular basis? I've seen him get beat so many times because he's not fast enough. I know Grimes is struggling offensively, but Grimes is so much more better defensively. If you get OG or Mikal to play the 3, Quentin can guard the best guard and OG or Mikal can guard the best wing.
Would Toronto be up for a OG/RJ swap? OG could leave next off season. RJ has a 4 or years left and is younger. You could potentially build around scottie and RJ. RJ is from Canada so it's a home coming. And if OG doesn't want to sign with us, it just opened money for us.
Best comment of the year at about 5:30 into this video. What’s the point of these updates on players we cannot get ? Mikel Bridges, OG, Mitchell etc. I’d love to see content creators be more innovative with potential names.
It's either OG and Siakam or Zion!! He is showing how much in the pocket Thibbs is with Leon. If somebody doesn't step in and stop this we are going to lose more players and ruin this team a la Chicago Bulls.
The only way iso basketball stops is if you get rid of Thibbs and Brunson!!
