Mids and Giannis share the same brain man, we need Middleton so much for that exact reason. Jrue was with us for 3 years and he still didn’t have even close to the same synergy with Giannis.
Dame is a better playmaker and fits better thank Jrue, but even he is going to take a lonngg time to adjust to Giannis. Ironically Giannis despite his complementary tools in theory, takes a while to mesh to new teammates. Both Dame and Jrue adjusted to Brook very fast.

If you want a single play to encapsulate why as Knick fans we saw our teams ceiling tonight, this is the play. Our best player getting spun off of, and simply not being able to get up as high as the best players in the world, or defend against them in a meaningful way, or match their offensive intensity with our defensive intensity, just means that this is how good we will ever be with Randle as our best player. Bro couldn’t do that to Giannis or Bron and even if he’s more athletic than the Lukas and Jokics of the league, they’ll just be better than him on a mental level by a mile. Julius is a good player, nice guy, but the FO has to realize that they just saw our ceiling and if he’s the best player on your team you are just gonna be a perennial playoff dick tease until we have to face a team with a first ballot HOF wing and throw the whole season away in 5 in a flurry of Julius Randle double teams and attempted Brunson carry jobs by himself.
