Going to be the Knicks backup point guard yelling forwards and Malachi Flynn’s probably going to get situational minutes at best the Knicks are low on ball handlers and Brunson seems a little tired from having to constantly dominate the ball it would make some sense that the Knicks would be

Interested in acquiring deante because then you have quite the defensive team between Murray and anobi when it comes to Perimeter defense and then obviously next season Once Mitchell Robinson comes back I don’t know if I’m the biggest fan of it because I worry about either Murray or Brunson having to play off the

Ball and watching them play worse but I do see some logic behind it that Nicks definitely should get some more type of ball handler just in case dece McBride doesn’t work out if him or Flynn get injured because Bronson might be getting a little overworked right now I could

See how the rumors going for Deon Murray would make sense now that we have acquired OG so there’s a lot of moving pieces right now but I’m excited to see what OG brings to the team a three and D player um he is a a little limited

Offensively but if we were to go out and get the Jon Murray I don’t want to say that I see how it would fit because it would probably be a work in progress but but I could see how the Knicks are kind of they’re paying a little bit more

Attention to the perimeter defense which is what we’ve been saying for how many videos now we’ve been saying how that the Knicks the three-point defending has been atrocious and OG is known for being one of the better perimeter defenders in the league the Jon being 65 a 65 point

Guard that’s where Jaylen Brunson I mean Jaylen Brunson and Deon being on the same floor at the same time again that’s going to be a work in progress but that is where the Jon can pick up the slack where Jaylen Brunson is going to be having a lot of trouble defending bigger

Bigger guards it is something where Dante D venz is certainly a good Defender there’s no argument that he’s not but he’s not Deon Murray and he’s not even where qu Quinton Grimes is defensively obviously OG is just going to guard the best player on the team probably one through four at this point

Unless there’s like some matchups I mean for instance like Giannis OG’s not guarding him they’re still going to put Randall on him because the strength thing but OG’s got that ability to basically lock up any single player on the court especially one to three but really one to four on most

Teams it would still help to have deante Murray though because as far as this team goes they’re kind of built off a defensive identity most of the time so adding someone like de Jon Murray would definitely help perimeter defensively and it would give Brunson a little more

Room to sort of take a back seed defensively and let him kind of run the offense and be that Elite scorer that we need him to be especially playoff time so there’s definitely positives to the move okay and if you’re actually asking how would we be able to acquire de jonte

Murray there’s been a report by Kristen Winfield if we take a look at it here if they wanted to acquire the jante Murray the Knicks could send the Hawks Evan fornier expiring contract plus any three first round picks and a first round pick swap a comparable trade to what the

Hawks gave the Spurs to acquire Murray in the first place and if we take a look into the jonte Murray’s numbers for this season he is averaging 20 points averaging 4 and a half rebounds 5.3 assists shooting 45% from the field uh threo percentage he is shooting 37.9 and

He’s hitting his free throws at 83% now it’s interesting because when the Hawks when the Hawks were able to acquire the Jon Murray they felt like that was going to be the that was going to be the foundation for the future between him and Trey young but

Obviously but if he were to come to the Knicks automatic starting five obviously now what would you say to me saying that Jaylen Brunson and the dejon Murray being in the same starting five Jaylen Brunson is it’s I think it’s pretty obvious that he needs the ball in his

Hands to be effective he’s not that he’s not great at Distributing the ball it’s not to say that he can’t do it but when you see Jaylen Brunson and when you see him being most effective is when he has the ball in his hands attacking the rim

Being aggressive with shots so how how do you see those two working together that’s my fear is if we’re looking at Bronson he’s at his best when he’s working with the ball it would be helpful to have Murray because he could take some pressure off of Brunson for

Are very different players but we just saw this experiment fail in Atlanta I don’t think it’s time to give up multiple first round picks for a guy who we just saw as part of a failed experiment and it’s not de Jon’s fault that the experiment failed but I don’t

Know if it would succeed in New York I mean this is a guy who’s at for a lot of the time in his best season was averaging nearly 10 assists per game now he’s averaging five that is very worrisome and it’s because he’s playing off the ball which doesn’t work I don’t

Playmaking ability also and then while Isaiah hardenstein is in the lineup his best ability is to make plays from the high post so I really really or at least offensively so I really think that this probably is not the move for the Knicks right now and you brought up a player

That I was literally going to bring up to you is Julius Randall we didn’t even talk about that if de jonte Murray were to come to the team and he be the starting five that’s another player that needs the ball in his hands to be effective so

Favorite Knicks but when you look at it the Knicks had too many cooks in the kitchen RJ wanted to drive to the hoop and have the ball in his hands he now gets to do that in Toronto the Knicks already had Brunson and Randall who both go to the left side
