I don’t get it…..I know we joke about the “Laker shooting tax” and all……but honestly, why do players struggle to shoot when they get traded to/sign with the Lakers?

  2. discussionandrespect

Hmmm maybe Ham has something to do with it

  3. slicknick2k

Why did we decline his option and let him leave for nothing? Could’ve picked it up and moved his 17 million expiring

He’s getting some great looks and playing with some great passers.

  5. manofthepeopleSMITTY

I’m honestly surprised he shot 35.3% for us last year.

Not being used right, he isn’t a good spot up shooter and was used as such, no plays run for him to come around screens. Also he only played 81 minutes total in a lineup with AD and Lebron.

Dude i KNEW IT was such a bad idea to get rid of him.

I swear to god i was gonna write up a post about it.

I’m telling you there is something about that gym/background

DLO Vando and Beasily were high value role players before coming to the Lakers. They all managed to fizzle out in the playoffs. Beasily was let go learned how to shoot.

Now fans want Vando and Dlo gone. DLO has regressed and Vandos limitations have been exposed.

This is what happens when you have no offensive system other than give the ball to AD/Lebron and pray.

There’s no “Lakers tax” we just don’t know how to get consistent looks for our guys. Beasley was never in rhythm last year because we had no defined role for him.

All that space w Giannis and Dame plus a modern attack scheme

I keep trying to tell y’all. Someone put a curse on Lebron years ago so that whenever his team signs a shooter they suddenly suck, but once they leave the team they can suddenly shoot again. Idk when it started but it was clearly after the Ray Allen years in Miami and it’s been consistent ever since

Do they run anything for him? Does he come off screens? Swear we would just give him the ball and let him shoot off the dribble or he would have an open look nothing else

The explanation that makes the most sense to me is that the court is illuminated for Lakers home games but the stands are dark, which creates a unusual shooting background. I’ve posted a link to this article in other threads recently, and it lists three-point shooting stats for several players who played for the Lakers, most of whom shot worse in home games compared to away games.

    [https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2021/5/21/22440934/lakers-shoot-worse-staples-center-stats-analysis-homecourt-nba-playoffs](https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2021/5/21/22440934/lakers-shoot-worse-staples-center-stats-analysis-homecourt-nba-playoffs)

Prince has a big home (30.6%) versus away (46.7%) split.

In last season’s playoff series, Curry and Thompson struggled from three-point range at Crypto.

Worse looks with Lakers. Lebron dominates ball and everyone just stands around and watches not as engaged or in rhythm.

The Laker Shooter curse is real lol

  17. annoyedboy671

Darvin Scam would tell him to just go out there and believe in yourself. “Player’s coach.”

Still can’t play defense which means he still can’t close games and play in the playoffs. Again with the 3p% when we lost another game to a decent team giving up 120+ points
