Three 20+ ppg scorers (who most of us would say are all star caliber players), one top 10 player, 2 DPOYs, and two of the best three point shooters in the league. And some of yall will still ask what is Taylor Jenkins supposed to do with this roster.

  2. Haven’t beaten the Raptors in Memphis since January of 2017. It’s been awhile.

  3. ANAL_CAVITIES

when they got it to 5 with 2-3 minutes left and kept forcing 3s and missing anything sucked, particularly the Ja falling out of bounds in the corner one like he was fuckin JR Smith or some shit

  4. CompellingTaxidriver

If we had Vince instead of Smart that’s probably a win. I know his hand is fucked up but still terrible game from him.

  5. theglicky

Unless the team miraculously flips a switch, the team isn’t good enough to make up ground to make the play-in and this upcoming road trip will either prove that or me wrong. The first 4 games were fun but even when you go over those games you see the same issues.

Also, I dont think having an offense where you are top 5 in 3 point attempts while being the worst shooting team in the league statistically isn’t the brightest plan.(then again they shot like 40% in the paint, maybe their just not good at basketball)

Just looking at the schedule games get tougher and tougher .

I honsetly thought we had a chance after Ja came back with those 4 wins.

It’s getting harder to care about this season. Our big 3 all went for 20+ and we still lost to a below .500 team

  9. Lubetube1

Why do we continue to shoot like we’re a 3 point shooting team?

  10. NoirPochette

I find it funny that half a decade or so ago we couldn’t hold on to big leads and now we find a way to come back from big deficits to nearly get the win or sometimes win.

Smart and Kennard not hitting buckets hurt. Smart needed to hit those shots to give us a chance.

Grizzlies need to find a way to have strong second quarters. This season it is like a struggle. Granted there are circumstances.

  11. Stonedthecrowe

We need Jarrett Allen. Or fucking someone. We need a real true big man. Watching some of these guys just stand and watch rebounds makes me angry

  12. Kung-Fu_Tacos

Coach needs to get a better handle on these guys.

1.) Smart should not have the 3pt green light. We should have learned our lesson with Brooks but obviously haven’t.

2). Need more energy in the first half. Our offense is not good, we can’t afford to be down 20 points at half time.

3.) 3 point defense continues to suck ass.

4.) Surprised by Z this game, he played better than I expected. Still not great on defense.

  13. Jaggleson

Jenkins is not a good coach. That’s not really up for debate at this point. Can’t blame our record squarely on him, but I can blame the lack of effort we consistently see from this team.

Even though they had good games individually, outside of bane, our guys body language looks like shit from the jump of almost every game.

I don’t know the solution. Maybe Jenkins has been ordered to tank by the FO and we’re in “stealth” tank mode. We’re on pace to barely hit 30 wins.

This is a pathetic showing for a team with so much talent. I don’t anyone outside of the big 3 on this team next year. Except maybe VWJ. The pieces around our core need to be blown up, and they’re mostly worthless.

  14. mrfadeawayjb

This team should never attempt 40+ three pointers ever again

  15. spacejambroni

I’m frustrated too especially when they make that max effort at the end and have bad offensive possessions to not get closer. They put themselves in that position to have to play perfect unfortunately.

It’s not just missing Adams, it’s missing a true starting level center in general. X is great as a 4/5th big but if you watch when the other team plays defense they only care about guarding Trip, Bane, and Ja and they ignore the other two guys on the court. Luke had an off game tonight, but if we don’t have the SF/C positions giving us anything when they’re not being guarded I’m not sure what the current roster situation can do.

Vince was missed tonight and they will have to make room for him after the two-way contract runs out but not sure if its going to be a token move to do that or an actual big trade, where we swing for another piece.

    Rough one.

  16. They’re just not very good. The thing that made this roster great is gone. Tyus/Kyle/Melton turned into the Williams brothers and Luke Kennard, who Jenkins refuses to play enough. Getting 20 from the top 3 guys and still losing at home to a team that lost to the Pistons last week…they’re just not very good.

  17. How many Grizzlies do you think got better in the offseason? I would say 2 (Bane and Vince)

  18. subatomicwave

Really lost the game in the second and right after the half. Really hope this is the final kick in the nuts that everyone needs.

  19. Lacabloodclot9

This was just a really frustrating watch, especially in the 2nd and 3rd quarters we are so bad at closing out quarters that we’d genuinely be 3-4 wins better off if we didn’t allow these late runs in the last 2 minutes

The truth is if we don’t do anything about the big situation that’s as good as signing the season over and tanking

A big game from Z is a nice consolation

  20. SnakeArms6677

Can’t even beat the Raptors who lost to the fucking Pistons. Embarrassing effort outside of our typical 3

  21. I’ve not been part of the fire Jenkins crowd. But it’s hard to see him surviving the west coast trip if we go 0-3. The team’s weird inconsistency and lack of effort for long stretches is troubling.

  22. My idea of guys this team needs:

Starting-ish caliber cheap-ish Forward – John Collins, buddy hield, finney smith

Starting 5- Vucevic, turner, Drummond lol, capela, Jarrett Allen

Bench Scoring option – Norm Powell type. Literally no one on the bench can get a bucket on their own

Let Smart come off the bench as well as Kennard and Vince

Use whatever Clarke/Adams salary + Z Roddy Laravia + whatever picks except this years first if possible

  23. We need to quit having such bad Q2 & 3s. It’s wild that this is still one of the first games where we’ve had guys mostly healthy. They don’t seem like they know how to play with each other yet, and it was a SEGABABA, but we don’t have the luxury of being able to drop many winnable games
