Bob Myers: The NBA’s Most Overrated GM.
Bob Myers is the most overrated general manager in NBA history let me explain so let’s start at the beginning because I think a lot of fans give Myers credit for drafting Stephen Clay the problem is he didn’t that was former GM Larry Riley who was also the acting GM for the
Andrew bogot trade now if we’re talking draft I’ll give Myers credit for drafting Draymond Green one of the best second round steals ever but then we also got to talk about him drafting one of the biggest busts ever oh yeah and it’s not like the Kevin D rant signing
Was some genius move either look I could keep going Myers gave Jordan P way too much money and D’Angelo Russell but I don’t want to make it sound like Myers made no good moves cuz obviously that’s not true either but as we sit here today with the warriors on the outside of the
Playoffs Myers dipped right before this ticking Time Bomb of all of his GM mistakes was set to explode just so that he doesn’t have to take any of the blame

I feel like Bob is just a slightly above avearge gm who gets a lot of credit due to the warriors 4 titles and eight years. The exact opposite of Jerry Krause.
If we’re talking about General managers who don’t get the flack you must talk about Phil Jackson on the New York knicks bro put Melo in hell and the whole franchise basically and yet people blame Melo for wanting the fame
Don’t forget this guy also would’ve traded Klay Thompson for Kevin Love if it wasn’t for Jerry West.
Andrew can you grade the Pistons and Wizards trade?
Basketball discourse is dead. No offense dude, but Bob Myers has forgotten more about the nba than you could ever hope to know. Just watch the games and stfu. This is an embarrassing video
Your wrong as well , it was mark
Do a where will Steven Adams rank all time
Okay. So Mad Dogg already gave this exact same speech on First Take, and both JJ and SA cooked him for it. Cuz by this logic, only 5 GMs to ever exist in nba history are even worthy of the hof, let alone Bob being overrated
this is actually a hot hot take. And you're acting like that's the only role of GM
What happened in 2022 eveyone was saying the wiggins trade was genius? keep that same enrrgy also not even pat riley couldve known james wiseman was gonna br a bust not evn a warriors fan btw js had to point out the obvious
To be fair larry also tried to trade Curry
Wiseman was a very hyped up prospect though, and it was a weird draft because there was limited scouting available. Still a huge mistake but a defensible one.
GSW should’ve chosen KD over Dray! Then JP over Dray! SIMPLE. Revamp the team or it has been a nice run. IMHO, Curry has 1-2 more runs in him! I hope Klay will stay as well, but they need pure 4/5s and nice defenders
Larry Riley and Jerry West BUILT the warriors
Bob Myers is the most overrated GM in sport’s history
Another thing- Jerry West drafted draymond. He scouted draymond, put him on the warriors draft board. Called him saying we are taking you (go back and watch the 2012 warriors draft press conference).
Yes, Myers gets “all the credit” but remember he was promoted GM like 28 days before the draft.
Everybody who knows anything about the warriors, knows this was Wests move.
Almost all the moves from 2011 to 2017 were Jerry West.
RIP warriors assistant head coach
Someone needed to say it, I appreciate you for saying it because it is true.
The biggest stain on his legacy is trying to two timeline crap instead of properly continuing to build around a generational player in steph.
Then failed at it and jumped out a burning car.
I didn’t realize he didn’t draft Steph, Klay or make the Bogut trade. Yea I can definitely see now that although he deserves some credit that it wasn’t that amazing.
I’d say Jerry Krause is the best GM ever , I personally don’t think the Bulls were just destined to win because Jordan fell to them at #3, I think he built the perfect team to complement Jordan and that’s why they won 6 titles.
I think it's pretty well known that Wiseman was Lacob's pick.
Shout out to my boy the Goat Klay Thompson.
