Who is the MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER in the Western Conference? 🤔 Kawhi, PG or Jokic? | NBA Today

They are all separated by just a game in the Lost column the Nuggets of the favorites to come out of the West that’s according to ESPN bat and see look at that the Clippers they’re a close second here so all four teams at the top of the West they’re playing great basketball

Right now so that begs the question Brian wior who is the single most important player in the Western Conference it’s Kawai not necessarily that he’s the best player but if he stays healthy as he has been for the majority of this season it’s a huge difference maker and what you look at is

Kawh started this season off a little flat like literally his shot was flat and not only hasn’t been Harden’s arrival but it’s been Kawai going back into basically MVP Contender mode that has triggered this incredibly great run for the Clippers and if he’s able to stay this way and they win the western

Conference with the number one seed he’s got a real case for that mvp I I agree it’s not just kawhai it’s also Paul George and I know I feel like the elephant in the room in the this conversation is nikic but we all know that they are expected to be Champions

Based off of what we see in the Eastern Conference but when it comes to the most important player it’s the duo both of them were not able to play extended minutes obviously kawhai one game or two games and then uh Paul George out in the playoffs if they both Hit the Floor plus

James Harden who has revamped his entire game they are also playing on a team that has the deepest roster in the NBA this feels like it’s their year now Health has been their biggest impediment amen so far we have seen knocking on some wood hard they’ve been healthy that

Duo kawhai Paul George there’s a hierarchy that they’re playing by right now it’s working impediment is a great word I got you perk big time uh yeah I’m I’m going to talk about the elephant in the room it’s Nicole yic uh he’s the former MVP former NBA champion if that

Piece falls out that cookie that cookie crumbles that team has no chance of going anywhere anywhere without NOA he he is the system we talk about Uno James Harden being the system that guy right there every single play down the floor he touches the ball I played with that

Guy he’s the most impactful player in the NBA when we talk about how important he is to their team I know they got Jamal Murray they got Porter but Porter isn’t Porter without him Aaron Gordon is a guy who’s kind of finding his way in the NBA until he played with him Jamal

Murray is great but not as good as he is with him that whole team is relying on him he is the force he is the champion of the MVP probably going to win another one I think he’s the most important person in the west no SGA no Anthony

Edwards in this conversation I mean sga’s got a strong case but kawai’s injury history I think is the reason I say Ka great yeah kawai’s injury history but I mean it’s it’s Nicole yic Nicole yic and the nuggets as as great as the Clippers have been it is very hard for

Me to look at that nuggets team and not think even though Jamaal Murray you know whether or not he’s playing as well as he did in last last year’s postseason okay the nuggets are a force to be reckoned with in the Western Conference [Applause] [Applause] look

Austin Rivers, Chiney Ogwumike and Brian Windhorst join Malika Andrews on NBA Today to debate who is the most important player in all of the Western Conference citing Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Nikola Jokic.

  1. It’s Shai tbh. OKC wouldn’t be a play-in team without Shai. I think Clippers, Nuggets, and Wolves would all still make the playoffs if one star got hurt.

  2. Why are people sleeping on my OKC ? Because we’re young and continue to develop? I’m sure that makes us more dangerous

  3. The best are the OKC, Nuggets, then the TWOLVES. The clips does not have th bigs to handle this teams giants.

  4. Agree that it’s Jokic.. Denver without him wouldn’t even be a playin team..

  5. More then anything i would want to see LA matchup in playoffs, Lakers even as lower seed would have advantage and Ty Lue is leagues above Darmin Ham but Lakers are just a team that can click for a big game and AD would destroy all of thier bigs, AD can really dominate anyone in the playoffs beside Jokić

  6. Jamal Murray is most important player, if he plays in playoffs like he played 2023 season, then Denver is slight favourite in the West, if he plays like this regular season, then they lose for sure

  7. Stfu about health, has Embiid been healthy, has Giannis been healthy, has Murray always been healthy, has Durant been healthy, Kawhi had freak injuries, he’s not injury prone dummy’s, guess what, yall doubted Kawhi and the raptors and he took down all of em on route to a chip

  8. Kawhi is better player than jokic if u factor every achievements but for this question they're equal both are biggest factor in west.if kawhi wins his 3rd ring his 3rd fmvp he will be top 10 all time

  9. Jokic is the best full stop. I hope the ESPN's analysts and commentators will find a way to survive an empirical fact – such as that it's raining when it's raining, for instance.

  10. What stopping kawhi from getting mvp is the names around him.. don’t let the names fool you.. Paul George and Harden will only go as far as homie with corn rolls takes them

  11. YEAHH KAWHI DESERVES MVP AND DPOY LEGIT 2 WAY PLAYER PROVEN AND TESTED! HIGH IQ WHEN CLUTCH TIME HIS RELIABLE 💪💪💪

  12. Kawhi's efficiency is hella important. Like the feeling of needing a score and his teammates knows if theres kawhi, theyll get something from him.
