Clippers are the BIGGEST THREAT to WIN IT ALL – Perk confident in LA’s depth | NBA Countdown

The Los Angeles Clippers they have been on a roll they’ve gone 26 and5 in their last 31 games to move all the way to the top of the western standings the latest in a season the franchise has ever led the conference and a big reason why maybe the biggest reason is Ka Leonard

He’s averaged 26 points per game over his last 30 Games he’s gone 57% shooting from the field with 51% from three 92% at the free throw line unheard of look at that first ever to shoot 55590 and average 20 points over a 30 game span that is absolutely insane perk how much

Of a threat do you think are the Los Angeles Clippers to win the West to win the West to win it all actually they’re my favorites to win it all the the West is an understatement when when you talk about death right we heard Richard Jefferson at the beginning of the Season

Talking about teams need to stack up at the center position the Clippers got zubac they got Daniel Ty and they also got Plumley okay you look at the depth on the wing position you got nor P you got the kid coffee George Paul and then you look at James Harden and and uh

Russell Westbrook T Ty tyon L has done an excellent job of Staggering those minutes and figuring out times how to play those guys together and oh you got kawh lard Jordan and people out there saying oh perk stop saying that no he mimics Michael Jordan and if you go back

And look at his San Diego uh with San Diego State days he actually was obsessed with Michael Jordan watching film about Michael Jordan but when I think about kawh lard in any given Series against any given player he’s going to come out on top especially if he’s healthy the Nuggets still have

Nikas right yeah they’re the still the favorites to me in the west but I will say this if the Clippers were to maintain home court advantage now they’re really talking because playing in Denver is one thing if the Clippers secure home court they’re healthy all the way through the playoffs I have

Bought in we bought in I forgot what the day was little too early but then ear but we’re feeling really the first half not going to lie not going to lie they can they can beat the Nuggets but the nuggets are the better team at this point constructed they’ve got joic I

Mean that guy dismantles entire team single-handedly then we’re going to add Murray to the P picture mpj Gordon they they operate as a unit now yeah they lost a piece or two from last year so that has hurt them to some degree but the Clippers are finally being who we

Expected them to be I would not be surprised if they won a championship but I still have the nuggets as the complete favorites yeah the Clippers share the ball they play for each other they defend they rebound and they have great depth and not only just depth on their

Bench but depth in the Superstar ranks you know James Harden has a bit of a spotty history in the playoffs he’s had great games he’s had some bad games well when you’ve got a roster like that and you’ve got not only Russell Westbrook to be there as a supporting player for him

But you’ve got George and Kawhi Leonard like you can survive where he maybe not have a great game in a game six or game seven knowing he could be the difference in a game one or a game two and so that that’s one of the reasons why you got to

Like these Clippers chances wait perk so are you saying you have the Clippers over the Nuggets right now yes I I am saying that I got the Clippers over the Celtics as well and here here’s the thing right we look at history when it comes down to kawh lyard and he has a

History of tucking people in and reading them bedtime stories we look at what he did to LeBron James D way and botch when he was in San Antonio right we watched his journey on when he went on to win a championship with Toronto Raptors he

Tued uh jannis an to kopo in put him to bed he also broke up a happy home with Jimmy Butler and Joel and be to go on and end the relationship with Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors look kawh Leonard has shown us time and time again that anytime he’s healthy

Coming into a matchup with the best of them he come out Victorious that’s the biggest F that’s the biggest F this is the best chance the Clippers have ever Had I’m n is

Chiney Ogwumike, Brian Windhorst and Kendrick Perkins join Malika Andrews on NBA Countdown to debate whether the Clippers are the biggest threat in the Western Conference.

  1. Perk is a fool. The Clippers can not stay healthy. Leonard is the most B.S. player in the league. If he has an injured finger nail, diarrhea, a bad hair day, he won't play. PATHETIC!!!

  2. I’m sorry but as a suns fan the clippers got it this year they could lose pg to an injury & id still give them the edge over anyone in the West kahwi is on a mission this year not sure about kd.

  3. Kawhi Leonard has become my 2nd favorite player of all-time. He’s my Clippers’ Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. If I rooted for the Lakers, Kobe would be my 2nd favorite but he would never be over Mike.

I like the fact that while Kawhi Leonard was injured a lot during his first four seasons with us, he chose the Clippers over the Lakers. And he extended his contract another three years while taking a discount. He’s committed at retiring a Clipper.

I know Kawhi wasn’t homegrown by the Clippers. Drafted by the Pacers but traded to San Antonio and then traded to Toronto. But I feel he’s my franchise’s savior. He’s Michael Jordan back in 1984 turning the Cows into the Bulls.

There’s this false narrative by liars like Chris Broussard and Stephen A. Smith that Kawhi was going to sign with the Lakers. This was never the case. He never was going there. He’s already signed two extensions with the Clippers.

Lakers media coming up with LIES because they got REJECTED by an LA homegrown superstar because he chose the Clippers over them. If Kawhi wanted the Lakers, he would’ve signed with them in 2019 or in 2021. But he didn’t and was secretly recruiting Paul George that first week in July of 2019.

What’s ironic is when Kawhi chose the Clippers, people were saying he’s the anti KD. The anti superteam. He was known more as a superteam killer. But since we got Russ and James, you can consider he’s now part of a superteam.

I don’t want to get my hopes completely up. We got Pelicans tonight. We struggle against them. We did blow them out in our last meeting. If we lose, well, we only enjoyed being the No. 1 seed for a day. Stay ready. Don’t get ready.

    Every five years?
    2014 🏆
    2019 🏆
    2024 🏆?

Clippers vs. Lakers playoffs showdown. That’s the Finals. Adam’s refs will do whatever it takes for the Lakers to win because it’s a Kobe24 year. Clippers will be screwed like the 2002 Sacramento Kings. What makes you think I also wagered on the Lakers and I hate these overly dramatic assholes. Scripted for them to win like their IST banner.

My Top 10 Favorite NBA Players Ever
    1. Michael Jordan
    2. Kawhi Leonard
    3. Dwyane Wade
    4. Penny Hardaway
    5. Larry Bird
    6. Lou Williams
    7. Paul George
    8. Charles Barkley
    9. Shaquille O’Neal
    10. Dennis Rodman

I have bobbleheads for MJ, Penny, Kawhi, PG, and Lou. I still haven’t found one I really like for DWade and Larry Legend. But I’m content with the 5 I already have. I might give away the Lou one though.

For a time, LeBron was my 2nd favorite player of all-time. He was my favorite current player for a good 10 years. I was Team LeBron over Team Kobe from 2003-2013. People forget how hated Kobe was during his prime. Iverson was more popular than him. And Kobe was very standoff-ish with the media until he got to his 30s and became a better leader and better person overall.

If Kobe was never a Laker or let’s say he did sign with the Clippers in 2004 and he won us a chip or even came close to it, he would be my 2nd favorite player of all-time. Yeah, he’s kinda a Xerox copy of late 90s MJ with his fadeaway and footwork. But I would’ve loved him almost as much as the 90s original. Congrats on his statue tomorrow. He died 4 years ago and retired 8 years ago, so it’s loooooong overdue. MJ already got a statue of him by 1994 or years before he had another threepeat.

Paul George ranking 7th is still on shaky ground. He can easily fall out of my top 10. There are times when he frustrates me to no end. His game is so silky smooth and he’s so skilled/talented, but then he’s capable of disappointing you in the playoffs with bad efficiency and awful turnovers. And I never forgot him gagging both free throws against Phoenix. Kawhi’s game isn’t prettier than Paul’s, but he’s won rings, he’s efficient, and he’s a proven playoff performer.

I used to have Tracy McGrady in my top 10 but I figure I’ll replace him with Paul George since they’re similar in height and share the same skillset. But the difference between them and MJ/Kobe, is they lack the alpha to be a leader. Hence, why T-Mac couldn’t get out of the First Round for years. T-Mac/PG-13 are very skilled players who are underachievers in the playoffs that MJ and Kobe were not. T-Mac/PG-13 are taller versions of MJ/Kobe but who have never lived up to their potential and weren’t mentally as tough.

I know Shaq was a Laker and his best years were with them but I have Shaq ranked 9th mainly for his Orlando days and a little of his Miami days. He’s responsible giving Paul Pierce and DWade their nicknames. In 1992, I was getting into basketball cards collecting and getting rookie cards of Shaq was all the rage. I even got the blue azure Shaq Attaq 1s after giving my Jordan 7 Bordeaux to my uncle. And I personally enjoyed Blue Chips (1994) with him and Penny. Shaq is the one I would love to hang out with.

Lou Williams was also a former Laker but his best days were with the Clippers. If you ask him, Lakers or Clippers, he always picks Clippers. I remember back in 2017 when we were introducing our new players, Lou did not look happy. He said he got tired getting traded and wanted to retire. But those 3.5 years he had with us were some of my most fun times being a Clippers fan. Sweet Lou had a super smooth game. He understood the underdog mentality that our fanbase had. Much love to the Underground GOAT.

Kawhi Leonard doesn’t have the prettiest game. He’s not as athletic or as smooth as Dr. J, MJ, Kobe, or DWade. He actually reminds me of Wizards MJ. Slower but bigger who couldn’t jump as high as before. Kawhi even in 2014 was never that athletic or smooth. But Kawhi takes the blueprints of 2nd threepeat MJ that taught Kobe and uses it. If you think about it, my Clippers never had a player in Kawhi’s calibur. CP3 and Blake were never it.

Michael Jordan will always be my No. 1. I’m a Xennial (1977-1983). Most of us were programmed to be MJ fans. And it could be for Jackson, Jordan, or both. Seeing Michael Jordan is like seeing a mythical creature. It’s like, he does exist! It’s like seeing Santa Claus. Listen to what Charissa Thompson (born in 1982) had to say about His Airness and how she never wants to meet her heroes….

Notable television host, sportscaster, and host of Prime’s Thursday Night Football, Charissa Thompson, has recently revealed her soaring admiration for Michael Jordan in “Games With Names” podcast.
During the podcast, she also revealed that she is such a big admirer of the six-time NBA Champion and NBA legend, “His Airness” that she refused to interview him and never wanted the personality of the icon changed in her mind.

According to Fadeaway World, she shared regarding Jordan, “One is Michael Jordan and I refuse to ever meet him. I don’t want to know if he has bad breath, if he is mean to me, I can’t. I need to put him on the shelf and always have him be my favorite.”

Thompson also revealed that when she got a chance to interview him, she did not move forward with that interview. She states, “The first opportunity I ever had to interview him, his son Jeffrey was playing for Illinois and we’re in Indianapolis. They were like, ‘You need you to go up to the suite and interview Michael Jordan.’ And I was like, ‘I can’t do it.’ Larry Bird was with him too and I was like, ‘I can’t do it.’ And they’re like, ‘What do you mean you can’t do it?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t want to meet him.’ I just love him so much.”

Thompson also reminisced about her earlier days and how she used to have a lookout for the icon when she found out that he was in his camp. She continued further, “He would host a basketball camp and my guy friends that worked the valet there would call me when the black Range Rover pulled up. I was like, ‘Oh my god he’s there.’ And I would look around in the bushes like a psycho, just wanting to catch a glimpse of Michael Jordan.”

Thompson is still following in her footsteps by keeping her distance and preserving her perception, which is idealized when considering one of the biggest stars of basketball.

Dwyane Wade (another Xennial) and Chicago native talking about Michael Jordan…..

“There was a moment when Jordan came in, and that's the reason I played basketball. We're in a hallway, the guards, we're talking before we go out, and Mike creeps in. And Mike gave me some love, and every time, I don't care. I was with the Jordan Brand, I had some moments, this is Mike. So Mike came in and gave me love, then he went right to the old dog, he went right to Magic, the clip that went viral, and if you see my face, that was the moment that I realized I was in basketball heaven. Like, my basketball lifespan had ended and I ended up in basketball heaven. To just be there, to be able to experience — Hall of Fame is great, jersey retirement is great. For me, as a kid, I didn't have my family there. I didn't want my family there. That was individually my moment. As a young kid growing up, wanted to be one of the greatest to play the game, and I got the chance to put on that jacket and be next to my favorite player, the greatest to ever play."

  4. Perk made good sense. He said whenever Kawhi is healthy he shows everybody why he's a 2 times dpoy, 2 time finals MVP. Im a a long time Spurs fan. It only took me 2 years to see Kawhi was a special talent. He wasn't fully developed as a player in 2013 but he showed me enough to know he was stepping into superstar status. 2014 i was convinced. I saw Jordan and Kobe all over again. Believe me when i say that. You don't have to like Kawhi but he's well respected around the League and got the history to back it up

  5. Cavs and clippers is my two favorite team and this season they shock the nba . Thank you god for keep clippers healthy this season .

  6. Clippers have supposedly had the best team/chance several times but we all know they gonna clip themselves in the end

  7. So Skip Bayless is picking against my 49ers and while he keeps talking Clippers, he’s only a 4/10 in confident level because he doesn’t trust Harden. Good. Thanks! My teams will win it all now! 😂 Go pick those Chiefs and Lakers.

  8. Lets not rewrite history Perk. That was a really good Spurs team that beat the Heat back in 2014. You're making it seem like Kawhi averaged 30ppg

  9. Nugget's championship was a fluke. They somehow managed to not play ANY elite pg that can abuse Jokic in a pick n roll.

  10. I'm going to say it now, people are going to blame LeBron for Russ if Clips win, but it's not the same, LA Russ salary was 42 millions while Russ Clippers salary is only 3.8 mil, that's another star level player LA could have with Russ and then that would be a fair comparison

  11. Since his foot ankle injury during the Spurs Warriors playoff game he has not played fully whole until this year. He said himself that this is the 1st time in 6 years that he has felt completely healed. When your body is not fully whole it's easier to reinjure because you're always compensating. Becuase he's finally whole again, he is much less likely to be injured this year.

  12. Clippers still got was huge weakness they gotta address that’s a legitmate 4 man who can play be a back up 5 if they need to go small , the people they should try to get their hand on is John Collins or Bobby Portis . It’s rumored bucks was looking to trade Bobby for grant willams from the mavs tryna get a 3n d wing but clippers can outbid that by giving them Terrance mann who’s a way better defender defender taking on tougher assignments and can space the floor as well .they need to do a 4 team trade with blazers/ 76ers/ clippers / bucks and it makes sense for everbody involved .

Buck get : Covington , mann ,jerami grant ,Beverly , oubre

Clippers get : Bobby Portis , mo bamba

    Blazers: kris Middleton a pick
76ers: connaughton ,bones ,robin lopez ,Payne ,aj green, picks

    Why they do this :

76ers if embid injury projected to end up taking him to early may they'll call the season because by then they’ll slip through standing to far and Maxey isn’t on that lvl to keep them afloat Chicago will end up slipping in the 8th seed . 76 have nothing to lose with pieces because their all unrestricted free agents anyway this off season so there best off collecting picks so either they trade embid nxt season and rebuild or give it another shot use thier draft capital try to get a legit star to pair with embid . If I were daryl morey I would honestly not risk embid health package all their picks and Maxey go after ad and bron. Lebron got a player option he can opt out of sign as a free agent giving Philly its biggest big 3 they had way better then the years with butler . This different from the lakers because they have a bonafide first option in embid where bron dosent have to force ad to be that guy ad/ bron from game to game basis will be the 2 nd / 3rd option . Embid provides spacing for ad to still play his game and this give bron the spacing he needs to p n r or pick n pop with that front court this by far would be the best big 3 bron been apart of bonafide super team even with an older lebron they could get the job done because all 3 demand attention and double and that front court on both ends will be elite . If Philly dosent do this and tamper with bron behind the scenes they might aswell trade embid they have the assets to get ad and as soon as bron opt out to free agency their going to want to go young with a intrical all star lvl talent like Maxey .they do this they easily sweep everbody out east only one it would actually be a series is the bucks. if money was on the line to who I had to go with despite the buck improved defense it would be the sixers because I trust bron playmaking over dame !!!

Melton, cauington, bron , ad , embid Bones ,house , otto porter , Morris , reed Get some vet minimum guys fill out that bench .

Bucks / clippers both do this because each player supply something thier both lacking for clippers size at the 4 for certain match up play alongside zubac and to be that pick n pop guy for Russel Westbrook . Mann gives the buck way better perimeter defense hiding dame and the move to Philly desperately adds those 3 n d wing the team lacking . And if lopez is a liability put giannias at the 5 and Covington at the 4 epically in this current nba who really got a front court that can keep up with Gianni’s in transition .trading for grant gives bucks an elite defender who can create Middleton a better scorer but grants a way better defender transition will be like og on the Knicks . 1 st option going big Dame , mann , grant , Gianni’s , brooks

Being more scrappy 2 nd option

Dame , mann , grant, Covington , Giannias Complety solve the dame defensive issue can hide him simalr to golden state steph in that chamionship run . If this get done if both teams healthy it will be bucks vs clippers in the finals !!!!

  13. L.A Clipers this coming Playoffs 😂

    – George Paul.
    – Russel Wesbrick.
    – Playoff MIA James Harden.
    – Kahwi Leonard ( Most probably will be Injured)
    – Ivica SLOW-vac

And a bunch of players on the Bench that doesn't have any Championship Experience 😂😂

Yup Kendrick Perkins is right! Clippers might win the Championship 😂

  14. Wait until the postseason when the Clippers gonna to fall apart as usually. Harden, PG, Westbrook gonna choke when the time matter!!! All are old and injuries prone

  15. 1st round exit. It’s the Clippers people. You could add Jordan to this roster and you would have the same result. It’s the CLIPPERS!!
