Kind of I just kind excited cuz I feel like that’s kind of fan base I want to be a part of and uh want them to embrace me and uh from the good in the bad uh I’m just happy to be a sixer you know uh yeah I’ve been watching sixes my whole

Life you know I watch them every time when remember you have a off day and then playing and uh try to keep up the whole league and um I’m just happy to be here and happy for the be in the city and uh and uh happy to turn things

Around even though we don’t have a big fell but uh just learning and watching and uh just learning new schemes and terminology from the coaches you know you can tell today like everything’s out of whack like you’re trying to figure it out but then as you get comfortable and

Everything comes down we get every players and we start to figure it out talk start to talk and uh we had a better second half than the first half you know ref flush that first half and uh give us that second half and give another one I think where we can

Probably put us a better game out put better results out but uh you know I’m glad to be thank God for allowing me this opportunity uh and I’m takeing full advantage of it what was your first reaction when the trade happens yesterday morning just where were you

Just waking up in bed you know we always have a they shoot around on game days and uh M was focused on Warriors and I was like I don’t think that’s going to happen and agent called me and like she’s she’s an LA and like you know she

You can hear that slur on her voice she just waking up cuz it’s 6:00 in the morning her time and she give me the news and she say there’s a deal Poss to be 75% done and I was like but Philly and she’s like yeah I like well I’ve

Been hting for a long time it never happens but you know I’m just I’m glad to be here I’m glad to be the sixer and uh the fans and everybody’s being great embracing me and uh welcome to the city and I can’t wait to know about the city

And uh and uh for you guys tell me what to do and where to go you know and uh I’m just taking it day by day man soaking it all in you guys with your skill set have had a lot of success playing with like movement Shooters had

A lot of success with guys like JJ reic Seth Curry players like that I guess have you I know it’s going to be a while until he’s back but have you thought much about you know how that’s going to work but you Joel specifically no I

Haven’t thought about it but I tell you I’ve played against him and i’ and I’ve seen what we other teams what we’ve done to him and uh just traing him and S the double teams and uh the the wood ifs always oh dang these guys getting some

Good shots but uh you know time will tell when that when that when that happens and uh um I’m sure I’ll be willing to be excited for him to get back as soon as he can and healthy and uh but uh when the opportunity comes uh

Uh I would love to be able to play with him and embrace that moment buddy this is kind of a tough situation for you to kind of walk in for with a team kind of decimated with injuries at the moment you guys have a lot of a lot of your

Guys like how tough is this situation for you as a new guy you know nobody’s going to feel sorry if you in the NBA and uh still crying in basketball my coach always me from high school in Bahamas so you got to figure it out you

Know and uh First first day uh from physical straight to the to the arena you know watching film from on the plane trying to figure out the schemes and know but you never figure out everything tell you together so we just bring out a team put the terminology we had a

Different time of terminology first day of school man is trying to know your know your new new classmates know your new teachers which is your coaches and uh just figure everybody talks and communicate and uh but the point is we got to be professional and uh embrace it

And uh the end goes to win the game and and whatever we no matter what happens we all happy we get a win so uh know we I feel like the energy that we had in the second half we we carried over and then watching them for the past couple

Games I feel like that was the best energy G so I’m excited to keep building when it’s great you said you said you were on the plane you were trying to figure out the schemes of watching film I guess when you’re trying to figure out the

Schemes for you know a new team how what are you looking for in terms of just oh I recognize this this looks familiar I see the patterns here oh just like no you know I’ll be played i’ be playing Philly I think three times already and

Uh and I I I see some play okay yeah that makes sense so I’m just trying to figure out how to play with guys you know I haven’t played Maxi yet so I’m excited to play with him because he’s a fast guy and he goes downhill so me G

Screen and blurring and trying to make confusion I’m the type of guy that once makes the defense to make confusion and make them react and uh and when you can make a reaction to the defense to break it down and make a play and then the

Next play and uh and then play pace basketball after that and uh just trying to figure it up man you f a lot of guys Kelly is aggressive you know and uh cam steady point guard can score you know just got to figure out your teammates

And uh when we put all the paes together then when we got the big Feller it’s going to be another challenge but it won’t be the challenge cuz we already know what they going to do to him you said that you’re talking to your agent

They said a deal was like 75% done and you mentioned that Philly was your instinct did you have any idea that that was coming a trade no I didn’t have no idea was coming uh I just I I just know that only team that makes sense would have been in

Philadelphia and everything and the whole scheme of things buddy can you talk to us about your work ethic I mean I I heard that you got here a little like around 220 you were looking for the locker room and next thing you know you found it and you were right out on the

Court and and you’ve been out there what up until what the walk through yeah and and then you see on Twitter where people saying well that’s buddy that’s the stuff he used to do in Indiana yeah just talk about that I just love the game

Love for the game you know I just very passionate about it you know where results is good or bad in in the game but I’m just I always stick to my routine what I always do from college you know and I feel like that brings me

So much joy just being a part of the game you know and uh my family is not here so especially like when I’m out here I’m just have more time to be able to just relax and be at peace and uh just work you know and uh everywhere I

Go I want to get my all you know and uh just make the best of it and uh I came from the Bahamas nothing was given to me so everything I have I’m very appreciative of and uh to play on a big stage like this and um uh just brings

Joy to me my country and I got to represent myself my family and my country and I never take that for one bit because there’s always some kid in the Bahamas looking at me each and every year when I go back home and I and I

Hopefully I can like Inspire him to be not me but better than me and uh that’s my always my goal so whatever I opportunity have to go in the basketball court and put extra work in I’m I’m going to take advantage of that so how how early do you normally get to the

Arena before a game uh I was like I probably try to leave hour before the when when I’m settled in this this time cuz I was like so anxious my my my uh everything just jittery I would to get out there so bad cuz I’m so happy was so

Anxious to play but uh usually on game days I probably try to get there like an hour and a half before the first team bus but teams sometimes my luck get bad because teams really close they have shooter they shooter rounds I’m waiting in the

Locker room for an hour and a half so sometimes I still try to sneak on the court like you know try to gauge it but like most of the times it kind of works out but it never works out but they’re trying to figure out ways get on the

Court give extra shots cuz you know we have 15 minutes to warm up on the basketball court I don’t think that’s enough uh Jim conin hi buddy uh just one quick one for me to you uh I spoke to Luke Walton last year and he came up with a famous quote an

Answer he gave me he said if I’m going to the roulette table and the game’s on the line and I’ve got my last chips I want the dice in Buddy’s hands how confidence does that give you as a player when your coach has that belief in you that when everything’s on the

Line he wants the ball in your hands to take that shot I’m a good shooter I don’t miss n we just messing with you but uh no it’s Luke I mean I mean Luke have good talks and uh like Luke know my mindset is that and I work

Hard and uh he trusts me a lot to make a lot of shots and uh even shots I think it’s impossible make he gives me confidence to do that and uh as a coach you want to have a guy like that that’s riding your back and I was always on you

So you know respect the respect level is there so uh like I said you a lot of confidence in me so uh as a player you know uh I had the confidence to take the shot whatever he draws up I’m ready to do and finally bodd H just one thing I

Suppose you ripping for the people of the Barbados Bahamas Bahamas Bahamas bahas on man Bahamas Bahamas how important is that that you’re like a cult figure for your homes s to Country and did you inspire a next generation of players to appear in the NBA uh you know uh it’s really good uh

Nor I came from the Bahamas and just being in the NBA and uh just seeing guys like DeAndre Aon coming up and now your Kai who just get drafted from Charlotte Hornets you know was really inspirational like yeah I look like a big Ro to them but uh but uh it’s just

Motivating the the the other little kids like to keep on pushing you know it’s hard you know like like guy like Tristan from Canada there was a lot of not a lot of Canadians in League you know you got a about 20 Canadians in League now and

They’re playing a high level so our drawers me DeAndre aen and K keep on inspiring the young kids to Keep On Believing that they can play in the league one day they can be like us and uh be able to help other people and Inspire the you coming up for
