A half all right I’m gonna take the over in Blazers wolves 216 and a half as it currently sits in the market I will like it at any number that you will find this at on Tuesday morning all right uh let’s start with Jay so Jay Lakers have been

Playing a little bit better uh Pistons been playing a little bit better but they are at the end of a West Coast Road Trip interested to see why you like the Pistons here to hang with the Lakers well it’s not the last game of their West Coast road trip this actually a

Front end of a back toback for both teams here Lakers go to Utah next night in which somewhat of a big game I know the Jazz are behind them in the standings but they still a big game for the Lakers wouldn’t be surprised if someone red in this game obviously the

Back to back going to Utah is like one of the worst spots in the NBA but don’t look now man this Pistons team is starting to play a lot better now before the season started I really think they had a really good roster I liked what they did with the coach they just

Started out absolutely horrible I mean I don’t even remember how many games they lost in a row it was just bad man but they’re I mean if you’ve been watching the Pistons this team is actually playing locked in right now they’re playing some really good basketball this

Is a deep team as well even the guys that they made some trades for um are coming over and playing really good minutes for him as well so um the Pistons have covered three straight games they’ve covered six out of the last seven they’ve covered 12 of their

Last 14 games and I think this happens a lot in the NBA where a team starts out so horribly wrong the power rating on them is messed up but sometimes the teams can be a little bit better than how they’ve played and I think that’s exactly what’s happening with the

Pistons they’re playing their best basketball the season and they’ve actually covered seven straight games as a double digit Underdog and I think they make it eight straight in this one I’ll take the Detroit pitons here plus to 12 so the Lakers are six and four ATS at

Home versus teams under 500 8-2 straight up um my only problem here is like I looked at the win profile of the Lakers this weekend and I just kind of like looked at all of the um the kind of like where these teams kind of Define themselves the Lakers are fascinating

And that they’re really good versus the top teams and they’re really good versus the bottom teams and they’re garbage versus the middle teams so it feels like the closer the Pistons are to Mid actually that’s maybe bad for them here um their win profiles all over the place

We talked about that with Joe on the Monday show I have a hard time like figuring out where to put the Lakers in a lot of these spots um I I understand like you’re right that this is a good spot for him and that’s like how you

That’s that that’s where you look for these spots um if we do normal Power if we do normal normalize home court if we just give the Lakers The League average and home court advantage I make this 9.7 so this is well within the number of 12

Probably is the Lakers have been one of the better teams at home this season so with adjusted for Lakers home court I’ve got this 15 because they’ve been just killing teams they’re really good at home um I guess my only kind of hesitation like they’re play they looked I knew the

Pistons weren’t going to play badly all season and I knew that there would be a spot where we would want to bet them um I am a little bit worried just about the fact of like the Lakers like to be bullies man and this feels like a team

That they’ll bully they’ve got size but they don’t know how to use it and AD likes to go off versus those teams um I want to ask you about the Lakers side of this like I get the Detroit side which is like hey the Pistons are catching 12 and a half and they’re

Playing great um or better so so far lately um does the fact that the Lakers are so inconsistent like they’re V they’re variant right where it’s like like LeBron said it we could beat anybody we can lose to anybody does it make you a little bit nervous about trying to cap

Them oh not really I think I pretty I mean if you guys people that listen to the show I have a pretty good handle on the Los Angeles Lakers I mean we play we made a ton of money with this team last year but I think it’s the opposite uh

This year I I’ll be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lakers missed the playoffs um I think it’s very possible I wouldn’t be surprised if someone sat out in this game like I say the game versus Utah tomorrow I’m not going to say it’s

A bigger game but it has more on their playoff implications but um we know that they list LeBron in ad questionable every single game I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a spot where one of them sat here they know that they could probably come in here and still

Get the win um and probably I mean they’re probably going to be looking a little bit ahead to the tomorrow to the Jazz unless they just try to punt that game away but if there’s any game that you don’t take as serious it would be this one versus the Eastern Conference

Um Team here so they’re probably going to have Den witty and there as well it’s something I like to do right after trade deadline when they have these guys coming to the uh teams um I like to fade those team there’s not a ton of continuity the Lakers don’t really have

A backup point guard right now and and DWI is probably going to be that guy he’s not super super used to the team um I don’t like the Lakers here land double digits I think this is a bad spot for him in my opinion this is on their

Fourth time so far this season land double digits they they covered versus the Hornets and the Blazers and then they didn’t cover the next time versus the Hornets when land 13 so I think we’re going to see one of those games where the Lakers they might they might

Get up 15 20 points but when it comes down to the fourth quarter I think the Pistons might make this game a little bit closer than people might uh leave and I mean just look what they did versus the Clippers I know the Clippers weren’t really interested in the game

They were like 15 points on the Clippers and the Clippers basically had to come back and like all right come on let’s play for real I could see that type of game as well so I don’t really care what happens I just need to the Pistons to

Keep this within they’re one in 16 straight up so do not take the money line on the on the Detroit Pistons tomorrow um but they’re nine and eight 53% ATS as a double- digit dog including uh their last three ATS and four of their last five is a double digit dog so

Trends back up what Jay was saying overall as well okay uh Watts let’s get to you uh the Orlando Magic tomorrow are uh taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder really interesting game Thunder have been a little bit shaky Lately from a number of perspectives uh this is a three and four

Spot for the Thunder two and a half is the line which honestly like I’m a little surprised that this is short I haven’t checked the injury report yet is this an injury play is this just a spot play why do you like the magic plus two

And a half half versus one of the best teams in the Western Conference this season yeah I haven’t seen any injuries pop up I checked before of course did by due diligence uh but this is mainly because of the recent form as you mentioned so the Thunder have kind of

Owned this matchup uh eight eight and two ATS last 10 head-to-head meetings including the last one the only one this year um but they’ve fallen off lately just two and six against the spread the last eight games uh five of those were at home where you think you know they

Should have taken care of business um they’re just 26th in spread differential on cleaning the glass versus 14th for the uh Magic who are playing great they’re they’re seven and one against the spread last eight fourth best defense in that span and uh I just like I think Mosley is Jamal Mosley their

Head coach has really just created this fun young tough defensive minded team and they’re fully bought in um so one thing that I really like about them is they they uh so Cole Anthony was on the low post pod couple maybe a month or two ago and he talked about how they hate

The Celtics right they hate the Celtics because the Celtics made some comment about the magic after that comment that they made they covered six straight games against the Celtics like this team is petty they want to beat the teams that beat them so the fact that the

Thunder lost last game Sorry the Thunder one last game I love I love that so under Mosley got a stab for you Matt yeah uh under Mosley the magic are 66 and 47 ATS off a head-to-head loss o I like it and that’s yeah and that’s 11 and six this season

So I think Orlando’s going to be pissed they lost that last game they’re going to be out for blood and honestly I think the wrong team is favored here I have uh I have this a pick them I like the magic at any dog price give me the magic plus

Two and a half yeah wow I’d like to say something go I don’t know I wouldn’t go that far I like the magic here as well I wouldn’t go as far as to say that they’re that the wrong team is favored now I do think the magic going to win

But just like pregame power rating wise I wouldn’t say that the Rong team is favorite but I do like the match to win this game but the fact that this line is short is very telling last time the Thunder laid 11 points at the house

There was a back to I remember that game there was a backto back spot for the magic coming off the Miami Heat uh game as well so they’re coming from Miami and had a back toback had to D travel to OKC as well and they were down down players

As well they didn’t have um I believe they didn’t have W Carter Jr they might have not had France bog they were really banged up this team is healthy right now they play defense they’re a really good home team I think this is the Thunder’s last game before the All-Star break as

Well I like the magic here as well and this line was at three and it’s dropped down to two and a half um I do like the magic but I just I didn’t really agree the fact that they’re that they should be favored here but I do think that they

Win if that make sense so Orlando’s been so good at home I’ve got this power rated at 2.3 so I’m inin the range here so I don’t want any part of this game um with a M with a thunder on three and four that matters here too um one note

Via clean the glass Orlando versus top 10 defenses which OKC is one uh they have a minus 1.6 spread differential that’s 18th in the League this season and they are 27th on offense at 106.9 offensive rating versus the uh good teams but I will say that this line does

Uh with Jay’s Point here about it being 11 and then how how do we go from 11 to two that’s a a nine even if you are like me and you pay attention to all these like how these teams specifically perform at home this season that’s a

Huge ass jump for a top rated power rating team to get here so uh I will I will happily stay away from this one and I get kind of why watts is on it um OKC I think is sputtering a little bit but I still think that they’re a very good

Team and uh I do think the magic are going to have a hard time scoring in this one so I have a a similar Trend about uh the magic so when they play uh offense with one 115 or better offensive rating y they’re 225 and one under

Mosley 12-4 this season okay so I think I and to to kind of clarify about the wrong team being favored yeah yes the Thunder should be favored what I’m saying I guess is that to me this is a clear Magic win so I’ll take the points

I might go money line but I’ll probably just take the points it’s short enough so yeah um mine’s pretty simple I’m taking the over in Blazers wolves I’ve got this projected at 227 and I’m not playing only numbers at this point in the season as a matter of fact I lean a

Little bit away from the model because it gets very wonky at this point especially with two weeks to go before the allstar break however however uh the Wolves actually have been an over team at on the road this season that’s a surprising fact is that uh um

They are 16 and 12 to the over 57% this season so the other thing here is just that I like the spot from Portland’s obviously a skeleton crew they’re reconfiguring everything the Blazers either put up huge numbers when they’re competitive or they get run over and the

Other team puts up a massive number when they do when they’re not competitive so either the either the wolves are going to substantially outperform their team total or the Blazers are and I I it’s entirely possible that the Wolves put up 130 and hold the Blazers to 100 here I would

Still get the over there right the only way that this this fails is if the Wolves offense can’t take advantage of Portland and uh if the Portland offense gets swallowed up by the Wolves that’s entirely possible but the edge here is enough to where I’ll go ahead and take

The over here I just I feel uh this is a good spot for them I will say also a Leen and I want to get Jay’s thoughts as well as as Watts’s thoughts on this game as well uh I like the Kings here versus the Suns I like the

Matchup in terms of sabonis and fox and the speed I like how the king’s defense plays better on the road um I think the Suns hit kind of like they were on the upswing and I feel like that Warriors game is a good emblematic of like hey

They may have like crested a little bit and even it’s just like a small dip they might be in doe for a small dip here uh I make this only Suns minus two so which isn’t necessarily surprising I I probably need to downgrade the Kings a little bit even though I’m pretty

Skeptical of them uh I lean towards Sacramento here here Suns on two days rest Kings on one day rest should be a good matchup but uh I really lean towards the Kings here Jay what do you think about this one this is a tough game for me um I don’t I don’t

Necessarily think the suns are going to Crater in my opinion I think they’re the way they start the season they’re only going to continue to move up I mean this is a top three team in the Western Conference no matter what uh people don’t really think so I think that

They’re going to finish in the top four for sure and have homec court advantage but uh the Kings this is their game remember they were I I was on the Suns last time and and they were laying around the same number and the uh kings

Are up like 20 with like8 minutes to go and they lost that game so I’m so I’m sure the kings are going to be pissed they do you’re right they do have the speed matchup with Fox and sabonis so they have some matchup advantages here

But um I just don’t I don’t think the kings are that good I really don’t I think that this team is nowhere near as good as they were last year teams are on to them now they’re not surprising anyone and the Kings another team Call Me Crazy wouldn’t be surprised if they

Missed the playoffs so but it is a good matchup for him Matt but uh I don’t think that the suns are going to crater down that’s just my opinion wat what do you think um well you mentioned the defense being better for the Kings I do think

This is a potential spot for the Kings just having been so embarrassed in the last game but I wonder if maybe the look is the under if if the UN because I you know do you see the Kings I guess they could outv variance the Suns in an over

Game and just shoot a ton of Threes since the Suns don’t really do that but I wonder if maybe the under is a more of a look just because um I I see that going the king’s way more than I do you know this number I would want it a

Little bit longer for the Kings I think the the number is high it’s 243 so I might play the under there I think I might play a half unit on both to be quite honest with you in part because uh I do have a trend here so the Suns this

Season when they face a team that is over 500 uh they are wow uh they are 613 and one so opponents against them are 60 if you’re over 500 and you face the Suns 68% ATS um they’ve been good and that’s even that’s and three of the last four

Even in that spot so one of the reasons that the sun’s kind of turned around is their schedule eased up um yeah I think I’m G to I like the underplay there too based off of that King’s under Trend right of uh the defense being better on

The road that I always talk about so yeah I’m going to play the under and the Kings might do a same game on this too throw the same game parl last days before All-Star break let’s let’s get wild it’s gonna be great uh all right so
