Blazers mock draft roundup: Portland steals unique prospect rocketing up draft boards

The claim here is that we are going to possibly end up with Castle.

It could be worse — but I definitely would prefer us getting any number of players instead.

— But the interesting thing here is Johnny Furphy.

I think we should definitely take Furphy with the GS pick if we can.

The kid has great upside and length — and a Excellent fucking name.

He’s also another Australian, and we’ve had great luck with our Aussies so far.

A combo guard who cant shoot? Seriously no more guards

One of these days we’ll get our lengthy 3&D wing with a little bit of handle of the future

Heads up, most of the time pre draft people try to force players up a position for whatever reason.

Castle is a wing. Not a big one, but if you are fine with Thybulle as a SF, Castle is around the same hight but should bulk up more than him.

I don’t love the fit, but if he is BPA why not take him?

If we pick at 5 there is still certainly a wing available, Holland or Williams even Filipowski would be much better than Castle IMO

These articles are not helpful in the slightest. We still don’t know how this season will end league-wide, we don’t know how the lottery draw will go, then there are still all the private workouts and interviews where teams get to see players up close and things change even further from there. It’s February.

If the Blazers end up picking Castle with their own pick, it means the lottery gods bitch slapped Portland and they end up with the 9th pick, which has a 0.6% chance of happening.

Worst case scenario is that the Blazers end up with the 8th pick and even in that case, they still have a chance at Salaun, Buzelis, or Holland.

Either way, the Blazers are going to up picking a wing or big. They have too much at guard that still needs development.

I’m so confused still on the Stephon castle hate he’s 6’6/6’7 with a long wing span. He’s also a great defender, good passer, can get to the rim with ease with his dribble and can play off ball. He’s shot well in the mid range dating back to high school. People are overreacting to the listed position because that what U-Conn had him at the beginning of the season. Your listed position should be who you guard and he’s guarded 1-4 the entire season

All i know is i want us to get a tall boy and im looking at

    6’8 Cody Williams
    6’9 Zaccharie Risacher
    7’1 Alexandre Sarr
    6’10 Matas Buzelis
    6’8 Ron Holland
    6’9 Tidjane Salaun

No more forcing guards to play wing positions please.
