The Phoenix Suns 118 109 in a game where the Rockets pretty much handle business from start to finish one of their more impressive wins of the year and especially been on the road as you guys know we are a team that struggles mightily on the road and to do it

Against a team that um just you know kind of whooped up whooped up on us the couple nights before um was good to see you know I mean and to me the Phoenix Suns are not a great team um I don’t I don’t I never like that construction of

Bradley Bill being added to a team that needs a point guard they obviously need a point guard and uh I don’t see them getting far this year and you know obviously can they stay healthy all these things the game was from hell for them you know I mean a lot of their

Players got hurt but for us we got to see especially when Jaylen green kind of go off um on on the game and kind of take over uh when the team needed him the most one of jaylen’s more complete games I’ve seen from him um uh you know

It’s it’s obviously the shooting was much improved going six of 12 from threes that’s always going to look better than you know the regular from him which is like two of 10 or something like that but also rebounding really well um making the right plays within

The flow of the offense and I think that’s a theme that um I I’ve took away from this game apart from some of his other scoring high scoring games and some of the other games that he’s had where he’s not doing so well is finding a Talent of searching for himself and

Also how does his game fit within the context of winning and I think that’s been a challenge for him all season long uh and him just figuring this out to me is going to be super important to his fit here in Houston going forward but there are three things that I want to

Talk about that um main main things that I took away from the game um and we’re going to get into those right now takeaway number one is backcourt passing Jaylen and Fred probably had their best combined game of sharing the rock and and not just passing and getting assists

But actually moving the ball hitting the right passes um within the flow and structure of the offense usually when we run actions it’s going to be two man right it’s either jayen and Alp in a pick and roll or handoff situation there’s going to be Fred and Alp in a

Pick and roll or handoff situation and usually y’all know my complaints when we run two-man game it’s the big man and the guard that’s running it everybody else is there in case the two-man action fails and regardless of what the defense does defense could commit three players

Four players five players in some some cases in some teams we’ve watched and the guards never make the right pass right not never but hardly make the right pass this tunnel vision two-man game shenon is at will getting to the basket at all cost or Fred is going to

Get to his pullup three Jaylen is going to get to the basket at all cost or get into his mid-range after a you know a long step back that is you know in some instances good offense but most of the time at this point in the season we’re

So far long we’re predi predictable defenses know where we’re going to run it’s become bad offense teams are pre-s switching pre- rotating pre you know tagging putting bodies in the paint to stop the Shang gun pick and roll and for the first time all season long both

Guards were able to maximize some of the the pre- rotations that teams were doing watching the game you saw a lot of passes get hit to the wings to the slot area out of the pick and roll and you guys know when I break down the pick and

Rolls obviously whenever you have a you know the ball handler coming off with the screen shanon’s going to set a screen for Fred or Jaylen usually uh most teams the way they’re guarding it now they just have a guy there waiting right the guy that’s guarding the corner

Shooter opposite of the ball handler so if it’s wherever um wherever Alp is standing as the screener when he starts rolling downhill and Fred or dalen is on his right hand side let’s say they’re running winning Pick and roll on that side and Fred is on his right hand side

The guy that’s opposite on the corner usually is going to be like Jabari or somebody there whoever is guarding them they come down their job is to stop Alp from getting a free rle along with the big man it helps the big man in case

They got a step up on a shooter if it’s Fred that big man may be uh coming up to try to stop him from pulling up um so that that low that low Defender there that weak side Defender their job is to come down and quote unquote tag shenon

From getting a free release free fre dunk free downhill or attacking their their big man and getting him in foul trouble teams have been basically just putting a guy there they don’t even rotate the guy is already standing there he’s waiting he’s ready to go and ready

To stop and when we run those two- man actions we see three four bodies in a paint and this is really problematic for the spacing and even to compound upon that why I keep asking for the you know we need more shooting on the roster a

Lot of times the guy that’s not over that’s over there is not Jabari usually it’s going to be you know a non shooter am man Thompson sometimes Jeff Green in certain lineups Jaylen Green in certain lineups and teams are just selling out they’re selling Tate a lot you know

That’s Tate spot for some reason in certain lineups and we can’t really capitalize on that but in this game I was able to see that um coach DOA they must have watched the film because after the first Phoenix game he basically called them selfish and they were they

Were playing selfishly but in this game they were able to get the rock out to those those wherever the help was coming from that’s where the ball went and they were able to generate those threes he has said coach adoka has said that he wanted them to shoot at least 40 threes

Um and they were going to emphasize on getting more threes up for a bad team lowkey that’s actually a good plan because a bad team that can’t shoot you want to get as many threes up because the math that we were playing against other teams where teams are shooting not

Only shooting better than us but they’re putting up more threes than us you’re going to lose those games it’s really hard to be efficient enough to score just twos on attack in the rim and shenon you know mid-range uh to beat Team teams that are shooting three-pointers so they were able to get

42 threes up in this game which is seven more than their season average of 35 which a lot of it came with the back court um making those passes to the non roller you know I mean getting to the slot to the wing and I think that’s huge

Now I’m going to look at some things here from the game uh one thing I did notice like I said the passing frequency was up and you can see here that uh passes made versus the Suns for the Rockets was 305 which is way more than our average

Our average passes made on the season is 263 which ranks 27th in the NBA so pass is just a pass right are you moving the ball on offense and usually we’re not moving the ball we’re one of the uh obviously our pace is slow we run a lot

Of halfcourt sets and then uh the passes are not really high in frequency but in this game 305 passes that would put us if we were doing that on a nightly basis we would be number three in the NBA and passes made and you can see the teams um

That are ranked in the NBA uh as making the most passes Kings you know high octane offense obviously they’re they’re not having their best offensive season right now but you we know what they could do the Pacers uh number one offense in the NBA Raptors middle of the

Pack slightly below average Warriors a top top you know top 15 offense Pelicans a top 15 top 10 offense and then I wanted to rank their effective field goal percentages which is their combination of twos and threes off of these passes cuz that’s what you’re going to get you’re going to generate

Good twos you’re going to generate making good threes Kings sixth in EFG Pacers number one in EFG Raptor 16th and that’s significant for a team as badly built as the Raptors they’re very similar to our build as far as not having a lot of good like just Elite NBA

Talent not a lot of great Shooters and spacers on the team um for them to be 16th B basically middle of the pack in NBA and EFG is is impressive is impressive the Rockets are like somewhere in the bottom uh the Warriors 14th in EFG and the Pelicans 13th so you

Can see just by moving the ball ball movement generating good shots in Rhythm this does allow the shooting to be better even on teams that don’t have quote unquote great shooting right and this is how you can make up for it the problem with the Rockets is if you look

At teams that are at the bottom with us either they have bad offenses uh you talking about like the Hornets and things like that teams that don’t don’t pass the ball ISO heavy offenses the two types of teams that are at in in that range of iso heavy offense are either

The elite teams with Hall of Fame level players the Boston Celtics of the world you know what I mean the the Clippers of the world or it’s going to be the the drgs of the NBA the Hornets the the Pistons type stuff because they just

Don’t have the type of guys that want to pass the ball right it’s bad basketball a lot of pick and rolls um so this is kind of the issue the Rockets are having right now we have a team that is not built to play the style and I’ve said

This before where Oka wants to play which is hunt mismatches and isolation leverage those into um where the defense helps and the we can do that with Shang goon I mean he’s drawing triple quadruple teams boys they just ain’t passing Boys Ain’t passing Boys Ain’t cutting so it really comes out to be

Ugly offense so definitely not something that we want to um keep going forward and I think as we talk about fixing this team and that’s going to be my focus now what can we do to fix this team right what can we do to fix this team going

Forward maybe if you put it out into the air it’ll happen right I already said we need shooting right so that’s one of the things we need guys that can pass the ball to these shooters cuz it doesn’t matter how many shooters you have they’re not passing a rock then it’s

Irrelevant but you know just to point out how much the back court had an impact on the Rockets passing game uh from this Suns game you can see Fred and Jaylen uh Fred versus the Suns uh versus his season average versus the Suns 89 passes for Fred versus his season

Average of 60 1 he made 28 more passes in this game Jaylen green uh 55 passes versus the Suns his season average is 36 per game passes per game 19 more passes very significant when your back court is actually doing what they’re supposed to do good things happen good things happen

Uh for them and and you know I mean to me this is the type of game that they need to have um I saw a couple of drives where Jaylen was able to kick it out I saw a couple of drives where Fred instead of just going to the pocket pass

He was able to hit the corners hit the slots that’s what we need to do because that punishes teams for overselling on Shang and you know what it does on the back end it opens up the lanes for Shang gun to be able to score in um isolation

And shout out to Alp also another thing I saw definitely hitting that floater getting back to his mid-range game especially against centers that they’re just selling out to at The Rim as well there’s two three bodies in the paint waiting on him that mid-range shot that little shot put the one-legged fadeaway

If he can get that to about 45 50% it’s curtains to me that’s more important than the three-pointer for him but you know the passing was definitely something that opened up the offense and to me that’s going to be key for them going forward because that is the sign

Of the Emil Oka team if you look at the Boston Celtics when he was there they were top in the league and passes and uh secondary assists uh top 10 in assist and the rockets are you know they were still up there in some of these numbers

Especially due to Freds play um but we just need to expand it out a little bit more that’s just my recommendation the second takeaway was the team defense um I think that against a team like the Suns the type of Defense the Rockets employed was smart um this is not to me

These are the teams that we can kind of lock down one of our strengths is isolation defense we can guard in isolation and so that allows us to be able to um to be able to trap and do other type of things that leave guys on

An island now a lot of our guys got cooked like Fred was getting cooked by uh you know what I mean by by different players Jabari was getting cooked by KD was was cooking cooking um Dylan Brooks was he he was a Turn Style in this game

Jaylen had a good defensive game um you know I mean surprisingly against Bradley Bill a couple of plays there played decent defense against Devon Booker um the refs really are kind of tripping about Jaylen both on both fans Not only on him driving um but also on calling

Ticky Tac fouls on all our players uh you know we saw Shang get ejected for a ghost call there that the ref made um but overall like Dylan the defense has left a lot to be desired Fred the defense of left a lot obviously Thompson is the best perimeter Defender we have

Um but I love the game plan that that we employed here uh watching this game it was basically what I’ve been calling for for the team to do without PR Shang goon um which is don’t let him play the drop he’s too short to play Drop coverage

Because the essence of the drop is you have to have a guy that’s long enough to be able to contest the shot and bother the shooter at the same time long enough to recover to be be able to get in the way of a lob now if if we had better

Perimeter um perimeter Defenders like the am man Thompsons of the world as they get better Fred is decent at this you can play that against certain teams but when you when you play certain characters in this league the Devon Bookers of the world the Steph Curry’s you can’t really play the drop they’re

Going to eat that right Dame Liller you can’t play the drop Dame like y’all remember the video I made last year when uh Dame dropped 70 plus on us I played a video on the live stream from uh JJ reck’s podcast the old man in the three

Basically Dame saying why do asking the question he doesn’t know why NBA defenses still uh still run the drop because at the shooting talent in the league is too good to use that as a full-time coverage the drop is Antiquated in my opinion because uh you

Think about when it was employed to stop those old guards the old guards of the of the time the the the you know I mean the the Russell Westbrooks the the Derrick Roses of the world you know I mean if you can take it a little fur

Further uh when you’re going against the AI and the Steve Francis and the Stefan marber’s uh these are guys that n they could still kill the drop but these are dudes that is attacking your big man downhill they’re getting to the cup you know that that’s a old game nowadays the

Guards are taught to shoot off the screens and it’s really hard to really be that far down and it makes your defense really really vulnerable especially in the playoffs a lot of drop bigs can’t play in the playoffs I don’t give a damn how Elite they are they are

Obsolete in the playoffs as the talent gets up the shooting Talent gets up the offenses are more creative they’re going to scheme you out of that drop coverage except if you’re a team that can’t shoot like the Houston Rockets then the drop is a perfect defense to play uh and when

Your guards AR aren’t going to pass the ball but for us the way they were using Alp yesterday using him in space using him in space as a guy that’s going to show on the screen right he’s going to be at the level of the screen be able to

Jump out on the ball handler on the opposing team and shock them before they’re able to get a shot up and then Retreat back now Ryan Holland once again he’s having a fabulous year as a commentator I know I gave him a lot of grief last year welld deserved in my

Opinion but this year as a commentator he’s doing a great job calling the games because he is pointing out the basketball analysis of the game which is what I appreciate and echoing a lot of the stuff I’m thinking in real time if you’re going to hard show hard hedge and

Be up at the level of the screen the back end got you got to have some dogs back there now you know I mean you can’t be footing back there you know I mean like the old folks say and that’s a lot of the reasons why we can’t really

Employ to me the reason eay is skeptical to you shenon in space which is Shang goon’s strength is not because of shenon alone it’s because of the back end usually on that on that on that corner that that low man that weak side is going to be Jaylen green it’s going to

Be Jaylen green and and a lot of times that’s a or Fred Van v that is a hard position to be in because you got to expect a little little guy like that to be able to stop a big and and they’re not only are they not putting themselves

In the right positions they’re late to their rotations because they’re not reading the game in real time I was watching the uh Boston Celtics destroy the Golden State Warriors um this this afternoon as I’m recording this Sunday and I watched uh you know cavon Looney do the same thing he was hard hedging

Hard showing and retreating and Steph Curry you can say everything you want about Steph one thing dude is a smart Defender he would be damn near under the basket ready to meet the big there um to help Looney out off of the shooters and then Sprint back to his assignment and hard

Close out uh and you know obviously the Warriors got killed but I’ve seen Steph do that for years it’s not really about the size per se it’s just like you got to know what you’re doing if you’re going to play that type of Defense it’s

A team concept it’s a team concept and I I think that uh the Rockets can do a lot better in that I would love for Jabari or tari mostly tari to be that guy I loved when KJ Martin was playing that role for the Rockets because he could

Not only tag the big man he could also come by if there’s a somehow some way the ball spilled and the guard was able to get to the rim you got a weak site shot blocker there that’s why I think some of the things as we’re talking

About fixing the roster is having guys that could play that position in certain lineups to give us the ability to be able to trap Trey Young Trap Steph Curry and then once they hit it to the to their big or try to pass out of there we

Got guys waiting to not only to stop the roller but also get back and contest so that that’s what I’m trying to uh I’m trying to see but the what the way they did it this game was good it was great and I think most of the times when

Shenon was able to commit on the pick and roll and hard show uh it really ended well for the rockets and I think that’s why his defensive rating was uh Tops on the teams for that game along with Dylan Brooks uh with the starters um they need to do that more they need

To do that more but that’s going to take the whole team selling out for that but there was an emphasis on that in this game I expect that to keep going forward now this isn’t the end all Beall I still think they need another five on the team

That could play certain coverages for us but if you look at like most of the The Bigs that are in the playoffs you got to be able to play in space and for shanon that’s the strength of his right I’m looking right now at shenon this is from

Synergy these are his um his shot type uh on defense his charts you go through and look at the type of what he guards well on jump shots he’s ranked in the 69th percentile is very good holding uh guys to 37% on 510 possessions that is significant these are jump Shooters

Whether it’s a mid-range three-pointers guys are trying to pull up on him even when he’s drawn out in isolation you guys see this right uh this is where he gets out and to me this is why sometimes i’ be okay with switching with him but

The thing is once again the back end you want if you’re going to be okay with him switching you got to have a cleanup guy behind him to do so but switching it up in the middle of a game where you can throw different looks maybe you’re going

To play the drop not not a hard drop but like a you know a softer drop maybe you you show maybe you trap a couple plays switch the switch it up so teams don’t get predictable on us and then you can let him sometimes switch out get in

Space have him be a guy that if team you want to hunt and shoot you know let’s play the numbers guys are shooting 37% I’m cool with that you know what I mean guarding catch and shoots we drill down to the type of shots 30% field goal percentage uh on guarded and unguarded

His lead at that dribble jumpers 40% field goal percentage here’s where he gets in trouble even on Runners 41% that’s that’s good so he’s ranked very good when you get closer to the rim this is the issue here he’s below average on hook shots which are from post-ups guys

Are shooting 55% at The Rim guys are shooting 59% layups 57% and dunks you know dunks are if you get a dunk you get a dunk that really doesn’t count everybody’s dunk percentages high but at The Rim overall 59% not great not great most did a video last year pointing out

Where he needs to improve he’s improved across the board on defense even at The Rim but this is not still this is not going to cut it last year again uh when he was with Steven Silas his after Rim was in the 60s like 64% something stupid

Like that um this year 59% if I remember correctly from the video I made Elite uh big man are roughly in the low 50s I think like 55 or below then you’re talking about pretty good defense if he can get is 4 percentage down on his Rim

Defense in in in concert with being an excellent jump shoot uh guarding jump shots excellent guarding all these actions and excellent everywhere else on the court he can be a great defender within the context of a team now the rim thing is always going to be an issue for

Him there’s a lot of room to grow there for him on this roster even with the way it’s constructed as far as positioning I think he gets a bit lazy on defense um he does doesn’t use his his power he’s a strong dude we see him when he posts up

Against most of the guys in the NBA he can push them around use that same strength on defense bro you got to commit to that end of the Court um but it’s also hard when you’re also the team’s uh Hub and engine and most of the nights you’re carrying that load by

Yourself so I think they can help out by bringing in another big and shout out to Jac Landell for giving us positive minutes in this game I think he played like 10 or 12 minutes was a plus three in the game which is huge for him if he

Can do that and we don’t have to see Jeff Green at the five Jabar at the five right now too much we have better chances of winning but that defense where he’s in space to me that’s the playoff type of Defense especially against teams that are heavy in

Isolation like the Suns the Clippers all these the Boston Celtics those are the teams I’m not worried about Alp about I’m worried about Alp against the uh you know what’s the random team the the the Hawks of the world right the Hawks of the world that want to run a million

Pick and rolls uh and just lob it over his head over and over again these random teams that run these types of actions the the Minnesota Timberwolves of they have all these lob threat bigs that’s the problem and that’s what we got to we got to fix on the roster and

My final takeaway is something that I I heard uh Gerald Green speak about in the postgame um you know postgame show was the balance of offense on the team I think this is um one of the most balanced offensive games for not only as a team collectively but also for the

Players right the players are balanced and what I mean by that is he pointed out something that I noticed as well when you know usually we have different types of offense for the Rockets this when be like two or three it’s either going to be Shang goon and and Fred Van

Vet in their Twan action it’s going to be Jaylen and shenon in their Twan action or it’s going to be some uh halfcourt Set uh where you know it’s just isolation drive and kick and then lastly is is transition in this game we were able to play in transition guys

Were intent on pushing the pace even Fred Van vet and I think when we talk about pace pace for the rockets that is the type of pace that we want to see when you’re getting stops and running but that comes with getting stops running off of stops right you get a

Stop you run you catch a defense out of position you’re able to attack use the strength of your players um you know the athletes that’s when they can get out and do their thing and a lot of jg’s points came out in transition right A lot of them came in transition where

He’s attacking a defense that isn’t set when teams are in half court he struggles and I think the balance of him running in transition them being intend about getting him the ball getting him going by getting lobs and layups and dunks is good for him on the other

Aspect of his game because it gets his rhythm flowing and everything else going um but just balance from everybody on the team about getting out and running but also in the H half court making the right passes making the right plays not being selfish except cam Wim cam

Whitmore was out there just shooting man his shot selection was crazy was crazy by the way um but just playing within the context of the game I think it’s something that they need to do better at as a team and this for everybody for shenon for Fred for for jayen for Dylan

For everybody um this is something that they can improve on now the question comes for the Rockets right obviously one of the key things that they haven’t been not only for the players but also for the team is consistent all of this is meaningless if they just don’t do it

Again and this is going to be to me why this stretch of games is important whether we can make the play in or not make the play in I said it on the podcast with roou um there is something to be said about finishing out the year

Strong we saw what happened with the same Phoenix Suns in the bubble that eight game stretch they went on like a eight game winning streak propelled them into becoming one of the best teams obviously adding Chris Paul but that that friskiness they were able to show within that stretch was important and

Setting the table before a guy didn’t want to come there I don’t think there’s any way you can waste these games that we have coming up I don’t care if we’re playing for something or playing for nothing they need to play because that stretch of games maybe you hit a hot

Streak and you’re able to become that team right that catches fire that maybe you do make the play maybe you don’t but the confidence that it builds for the team and puts the league on notice like hey these guys may be next and also for the players right maybe having a a good

Stretch for Jaylen green for example uh to close out the year is the Catalyst that he needs to to get into the summer and say you know what I see the vision I can come back and work on my game and be better next Year and be more consistent

Maybe that’s what shenon needs to see like okay playing hard defense and making the right plays on offense is what I can do and I can sustain this and and the guys to build trust amongst each other maybe that’s what um a man needs a good stretch of winning I think all of

This stuff is valuable so I do expect them to keep turning up the ante as the season goes along I don’t care what the the records are right now I don’t care what their playing chances they are playing right now for next season and everything they do and for the the

Coaches as well they need to focus on building things that are sustainable that are not only going to help the team this year but help them next year as they go along in their development and their growth um you know one thing I’ve said uh you know going going back the

The some of the play from the Vets has been very very you know not great right I expected more from Fred as a point guard Dylan’s defense is is you know falling off a lot um you would just expect more from these guys and um I

Think that having the young guys kind of step in and take more of this role will make it easier for the transition that we all expect as uh as Rockets fans hopefully next year hopefully Fred doesn’t have to play 41 minutes like he did against the Suns for us to win this

Game that’s what we’re hoping for um as this team kind of matures but these next few games are going to be important and we got to keep looking at ways to improve the team that’s what I’m going to focus on what can we do to get better

What can we do to get better what can we do to get alpie defense better instead of complaining about it if you don’t like our shanon is a Defender hey guess what you don’t have a better player in place when they bring in a better player

Then we could talk until then shut up if you don’t like Jaylen Green’s play guess what he’s here he’s going to be here until they bring him better player he’s here so we got to shut up what can we do to get this team better that’s going to

Be the Focus right how can we get better as a team if they trade everybody and bring new people in then we’ll talk about those new people but right now the Rockets have who they have this is what we’re going to deal with this is the

Hand that we have laid for ourselves I’m not going to say dealt cuz we had control over it but this is the hand that we’ve Chosen and I feel like at this point all you can do is improve on what you have because the way I’m looking at it I’m looking at the

Landscape for the NBA right now I don’t see a lot of uh players that are going to want to flood down to Houston to come play so what’s the point of doing anything but just focusing on internal development hoping you can add some peripheral pieces to this team you need

To get once again get a big man that you could play along with Shane goon get some shooting on the roster right if you looked at the plus minuses from the bench in our game against the Suns uh the bench was trash but we won regardless right some of the lineups are

Very nasty but we won regardless get some shooting get a big man get another ball handler you know what I mean get get us a a guy that can that can facilitate a little bit more so we can have some of that with the secondary units right with am men Thompson and

Hopefully over time the keys are going to be handed over to the young guys now going forward once again what are you what are we going to be watching out for consistency Improvement this for everybody I don’t expect jayen green to drop 30 every night for him to play good

But make the right pass bro right no tunnel vision drives make the right Pass Run in transition take the right shots don’t expect them to to hit six or 12 if you’re not hot from thre don’t shoot 12 threes you know what I mean don’t shoot

12 threes I expect Fred read the game brother make the right passes be a point guard stop stop trying to be something you’re not Dylan love the you know reservedness he didn’t you know I thought he’d get a little crazy in this game he played the right way guarded on

Defense to the best that he could took the shots when they were there for him to play um would love to see a men get more reps with the ones right I want to see that data point I feel like you know I mean he should get get more opportunities there but obviously

They’re trying to get jaylen’s confidence up it’s been a season long battle with him trying to get his confidence up the key to him is consistency obviously these games I love them I just look at them in a big picture he needs to stack more of them together the indivi individual

Performances do not move me at all they they don’t move me but if you can put a stretch of five six seven eight games then we can glean something that’s consistent amongst those eight games then we can talk because the way it is right now it’s one game is driving

You’re going to drive to basket 30 times and score 30 then okay we know the Old Faithful of getting hot from three what can we do on a night to night basis when you can do it every night this is jacking from from uh from our old coach John

Lucas the good players are show up every night can I trust you to be a professional meaning that you’re going to give me the same thing every night when you do that then we can talk then we can talk but you know what I mean

Let’s focus on what we can do to improve the team hopefully you know the the coaches the front office they are getting all the data points they need to make the adjustments this year I never want to be in the lottery with this group of guys ever again after this

Season cuz you’re seeing a W’s popping off you know I mean OKC is on a roll the the league is getting better the Rockets just have to keep getting better to stay in the race because it’s one thing for us to improve from where we were under

Stephen Silas is another thing to catch up to the NBA and I’m I’m I’m competing against the NBA I don’t know about y’all but y’all let me know man what was your favorite part of the win against the Suns what did you see from there I’m

  1. I heard that someone in our rooster who's been jealous of Sengun's becoming the franchise player made a binding spell to stop him. It's not voodoo but some other pacific witchcraft tradition.

  2. If Jalen consistant with FG 45-50% , 3P %33-37 Rebound 6-8 Assist 3-5 That will be excellent It will improve the others efficency . With such stats he can be avery good player(even the best player of Houston)

    JG Stats:

    Regular Season

GP MIN FG% 3P% FT% REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS

    60 30.6 40.7 31.8 81.1 4.9 3.4 0.3 0.7 1.3 2.2 18.2

  3. I agree the passing was great this game and Jalen and Fred were shooting the lights out from 3

That’s really it from Jalen if he can just be a really good shooter he has a place on this team we shall see if he can keep it up. Because the clock is starting to tick with him

As for Sengun I agree I’m glad he starting to bring back the hook shot and middys back don’t know why he stopped doing that this past month

When Sengun are going against huge physical bigs like Nurkic and Embid he needs to just use that hook shot and one leg step backed to get his points. No need to post them up.

    Great video Frank

  4. Ok im convinced Jalen heard my rant the other night since then he has played unbelievably aggressive and with fair and confidence I TAKE ALL THE CREDIT for staying behind my guy pause …besides when i said send him home till he ready to play mad … i repeat we need chirping JG chippy JG mad JG … thats the guy you compared to kobe like abilities…. when EF Hutton talks. Everybody listens

  5. It's simple — when Green is hitting 50%+ up keep him on floor, the moment he goes under 50%, take him off and let him get going on the next game again. Slam is a solid replacement so there is really should be no problem except that Sadako allows Green to shoot himself out of funk for 3 quarters and by then, the team is already buried for the 4th.

Jalen's last game was spectacular and also expected after 3 bad games. He is very consistent on this. To read much from his last game is not to learn anything about Rockets history.

  6. I been saying for years Al P can switch more and he definitely can guard in space against big guards. He is a high IQ player they should trust him more

  7. I said before the game in the Discord that Sengun needed to take 20 shots for us to have a chance to win. Jalen and Sengun both need to be at or above that every game. No more having Dillon Brooks taking most of the shots.

Another thing I liked is that they pushed even with FVV out there. When the other team gets back then we have Sengun to run through but we should never accept playing in the half court. Our offensive schemes aren't good enough for that and neither are the players.

The last thing I noticed is that we managed to play well on offense and defense simultaneously. I don't remember the last time we did that. Jabari can't really do much with KD except contest and pray so I can't blame him but Amen was locking him up which impressed me.

Jalen also did extremely well against Booker. I don't care if Brooks is the vet, we need to stop automatically putting him on the other team's best offensive guy. He gets cooked in certain matchups. Overall it was a great win. Maybe the best of the season.

  8. As good as Jalens' offense was this last game, It was probably his best defensive game of the season. That earns a bit of a reprieve of my criticism for him. The other thing that made me happy with his game was he hit the OPEN 3's. And those were 2 of the 3 things we were asking from him this season. Better defense, and hit open 3's.

  9. Frank, I agreed w/most of what you said, especially at the end when you said Wemby and OKC are starting to ascend. The reason they are ascending is due to their 7ftrs, Wemby and Chet.

Its going to be hard for us because Jabari is really a SF at this point. To match SA and OKC, we need a 7ft PF and play him alongside Sengun and Jabari. In the draft there is Sarr of course but you also have Kel'el Ware, which is a strong possibility. He has good touch out to 3pt

  10. We going to be a great team next year this is a lot of the guys first real season trying to win. We don’t need to trade anyone this core will be scary next season I’m not even worried

  11. What I took from this win was how they learned from the previous game's mistakes. Tells me that a playoff series would do more for their development than much of the Silas years.
