Chicago Bulls history, One Chair at a time

Welcome Back YouTube uh this is not what you typically see right uh we have a pretty cool little historic Journey back to Chicago stadium and to the United Center as Michael Jordan and Chicago Bulls kind of went on their Dynasty run of the three titles so I’ve been chasing

Down for a while now all the chairs from Chicago stadium and United Center players chairs fan seats certain ones I wanted to get so first we’re going to start with these These are the fan seats that um were in the 100 level basically like the box seats um x amount of rows

Basically off of the main floor and you do like see some of the like the Press Box and stuff some of those guys that were behind they would be using some of these kind of like singly or dual like this um but yeah basically the the first

Section okay and then once you went up like when we went to the game in 92 once you get up and like the balcony is kind of overhanging over you uh our seats were cushioned they were kind of kind of dingy kind of like spring-loaded seats

Um but these were just in front so when you’re looking down and you can see they got numbers on them still some delicious vintage chewing gum place a bed on that maybe I’ll do it no I’m just kidding um so yeah there’s numbers you can see two you can see the

One and we also brought out some Nostalgia and some towels so these are like giveaways and so is the the 90 playoffs Sports channel I know a lot of people talk about WGN because they might have gotten it nationwide but if you wanted all the Bulls games Sports

Channel was it they had the most games every year Sports Vision Sports channel that was it Sports channel or bus baby post game storman Norman band leer that was it a lot of my childhood memories were um WGN you know nationally broadcast games and number one sports channel right there repeat repeat repeat

Repeat so that was the back to back Championship really cool piece and this I also found this was a giveaway after the first title kind of a mini Banner this is what the original banners looked like that were hanging at Chicago stadium so it’s basically like a Min a

Mini version of that pretty cool okay that I love this stuff this is what I like collecting outside of shoes outside of vintage sneakers most importantly like our Chicagos um so you will see some some throwback you could say that’s why I brought these out um because once we pan just to this

Chair you’ll see the Bulls and this was basically another fan seat um so some people do get confused thinking that this Bulls chair was a player seat but actually indeed it was not this was the fan seat that was in the front row um basically you would see these across

From the bench so when I went to the game I looked across cuz I had the Bulls like down this side and then across the court on this opposite side was where you saw these chairs and another thing when you pan down go all the way to the

Floor check it out I got those black cement fours on had to break them out for the video pretty comfy pretty comfy I didn’t do my white lines yet I’ll get to it though um but yeah they’re good anyway I see people trying to sell the

The player seats you see these the feet here they’re pretty much the same on these two chairs and even the Bulls backed chair it’s the same brighter red as you can see as you pan up you’ll see the cushion is definitely thicker this is like nice and firm nice and firm

Padding these aren’t nearly as nice these courtside seats were really nice though brighter red but I’m just wanting to show you guys the feet because a lot of people I see on eBay selling these single seats as players chairs and they’re asking a ton of money

And that’s not the case okay so don’t get fooled into that uh you will see very soon what those seats look like and yes the Chicago there’s a photo penel is just trying to ruin the video per usual trying to make a cameo shout your trap

Anyway so uh I got a photo of MJ with this um which We’ll add later um but yeah that is pretty much a nutshell of the the fan seats from Chicago Stadium next we’re going to show you guys the players chairs from both Chicago stadium and unit Center

All right so here you’re looking at the Players chairs you got Chicago Stadium here on the right and that is the United Center chair on the left so Jordan’s tenure with the bulls all his career basically was in this kind of chair for a players and that one uh looking above

Really quick side note shout out to my dude Jeremy hook me up with that beautiful starter jacket made in America awesome I’m gonna wear that very soon again um so yeah appreciate it gave me that few years back so that was pretty awesome uh but yeah figured to make a nice little

Backdrop piece today and we’ll scroll back down we’re going to see this is very iconic the Halo seatbacks um so this is what you would see on TV you would see the Halo seatback and underneath it and they’d swap it out right so underneath it was just it’s

Just solid red that’s why some people might think that the other chairs were were this but this was the solid red and as you see the pad is not as large we’re going to lift up the seat as you see we got Chicago Stadium little authenticated uh plaque lots of wear

These were basically a visitor team and a away a visitor and home team basically these were loaded up every game so they were mixed and match so you think of all the big stars that played at Chicago stadium in the 80s and 90s you can go from bird to Magic to Barkley to

Freaking Dr J to you you you name it they were there okay probably everybody the bull staff especially road is a little more of a you know a little more of a stretch but if you look down you see pegged feet okay the pegged feet right here

That is the sign you will see in some photos later of the the player seat okay and they also have these little brackets on the side it’s just you see the the pieces here and the the other um chairs they don’t they don’t have that so it’s definitely a different whole a whole

Layout this is like the whole the the welding of everything is just very different and as you notice these are super low it’s like a super low chair so when you would see MJ or Etc sitting in these chairs they were you know their knees were really high so anyway we’re

Going to go a little photogenic journey and there is the 1992 NBA Finals so I found these seatbacks separate found the chair separate piecing it all together breaking news I got 1991 nay finals coming very soon the MS didn’t even know so here you go got a new piece coming

Look at that breaking news live on YouTube well we not live but you know uh anyway and we’ll go on and we have the 93 NBA playoffs so uh I do need the finals and that’s the one missing piece I got the 91 coming 92 already got here as you

Just saw got Halo and we got 93 let’s going leave 93 on okay we’re going to move on to some more Nostalgia okay we have here this is a recent pickup this is Charles Oakley Oak his game used shorts posted these on on uh Instagram maybe a couple weeks

Back they got a bit of a a bit of oxidation bit of atina beautiful screen print it’s got the nice Diamond all the way around some staining as you see what those cheap shorts they do where it’s like strapped across here it’s like stitched all the

Way across No it should have a diamond that goes all the way around the logo none of that Mitch that’s garbage and you flip over here you see the same thing and they’re even signed which is pretty awesome we’ll show the tags on the inside grateful anal auctions certified authenticated sand

Nit McGregor Sporting Goods drawstring still there so yeah pretty awesome piece now we’re going to kind of go over to the left here and explain what’s going on so it’s kind of springloaded you’ll see photos I’ll put up and at the end and you see a a

Cushion on here I think they they weren’t too crazy with this I don’t know I never actually talked with any of the players obviously um but I think they put these extra cushions on to weigh it down to where it wouldn’t flip up U but there’s another photo that you’ll see MJ

Uh in the colombias which is pretty awesome and he is taking some shots warming up and all of them are are loaded up like this all with the numbers on the bottom so you can see there’s a lot of scratches and stuff and I’m sure number many times um but yeah that’s

Basically what they what they had Courtside so this was um the player seat okay so it was the fan seat at Chicago stadium with the bulls but these were the ones for the players and they also these were these strong across the whole court side seats for the fans and for

The players so they were all mixed and matched so there’s actually more of these chairs if you think about it um and also one one more sidebar you’ll see some photos where the Halo seat back was used so I didn’t realize this until I started digging a little deeper but there’s one where

Jordan was running on the court and you see it like this so like oh wait that’s the bull seat and it just got the Halo so they actually brought these seat backs from Chicago stadium and they were using them at the United Center um those first you know

Those early years which is pretty cool it’s like if you don’t really look you’re going to miss it so yeah that’s exactly what I saw and you’ll see it soon in a photo U but yeah the player seats in Jordan you’ll see reference of you have the court here you have the

Bulls bench you have the Press Box and all that stuff but on the far end facing the length of the Court that’s where MJ Pippen um Harper that’s where all those guys sat was kind of on the far end of the court but yeah hope you guys uh enjoyed

This there is one last thing to see these are Ron Harper shorts look how massive they’re longer they’re bigger it takes you back to the 90s you went from the 80s shorty shorty 80s short shorts uh like Oakley’s to Ron Harper so if we lay them down obviously they’re much

Larger you have the embroidered okay after 93 started the embroidery for the Bulls so you have the diamond goes all the way around got embroidery and these are heavy like they’re super thick even though the other ones are nice you know if you look at the waistband differences you can

See wider more narrow they’re very very different um you can kind of see the oxidation too on the old ones just a lot of use on those from from Oak but these were Harpers and they were the Nike ones the Last Dance got the Bulls on there

His number plus two just yeah nice durable both of them but just just heavy heavy heavy I think we get the NBA logo yeah there we go peep the NBA NBA logo there too it’s beautiful so yeah I’m pretty pretty happy with that I’d like to get some jerseys warm-ups sure uh definitely

The home ones as you see I’ve gotten the home shorts from Chicago stadium and United Center um one pair of each but yeah jerseys would definitely be on my list another pair of game used Jordans would be amazing too but you know got what you got and I’m all right with that

Historic lesson of some of these artifacts that I I absolutely adore and love collecting and we use so I always sell it to my wife I like hey I got a new chair coming I got she’s like what from Ikea I’m like no we got from Chicago Stadium it’s gonna be awesome

The cushioning it’s nice my daughter’s like it’s firm I’m like okay there you go so yeah not broken down stands test of time good for years great conversation pieces um yeah hunting these seatbacks down it’s just fun it’s cool it’s nostalgic brings me back to my childhood so hope you guys enjoyed this
