Ben Simmons’ latest injury ends his season — and possibly his Nets career

The Brooklyn Nets are going to have to chase an Eastern Conference playing tournament spot without who surprise surprise Ben Simmons SNY Ian Begley tweeted the net said the 27 year-old will miss the rest of the 2023 24 campaign because of a Nerge impingement in his lower back he will explore

Treatment options with the hope of returning for the 2024 25 season Simmons’s agent also told Begley quote it is a continuation of the same injury that he is dealt with all year the best ability is availability and this reoccurring back injury has not allowed him to be available for the Nets

Organization he’s played in just 57 of a possible 178 games since being traded to Brooklyn back in 2022 this season he’s only played in 15 games while making $38 million and he’s set to make over 40 million next year which is going to put an end to the 5-year 100 $70 million

Extension he signed a couple years ago he’ll finish the season averaging 6.1 points 5.7 assists and 7.9 rebounds in 23.9 minutes per game

Ben Simmons won’t play again for the Nets this season.

It opens up questions of whether he’ll play for them again at all.

Brooklyn announced that the oft-injured guard will remain out for the remainder of the campaign while he consults with specialists and explores treatment options for the nerve impingement in his lower back.

  1. LOL. Well, they got 15 games out of him, and only had to pay him $35 Mil , so I guess it wasn't a completely wasted year. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  2. His nets career? It should be the end OF his career obviously basketball isn’t doing his body any favors he is only getting older he’s never going to get better then what he is now and he’s barely above average now

  3. This is exactly what I predicted Ben Simmons would do from day one. He was going to use that phantom back injury to get out of playing once he started once he started stinking up the place with his lousy playing.
