Bottom of the NBA I think it’s a little tough emotionally on both the fan base and the organization in 2021 the James Harden era came to an end he wanted out of Houston and obviously it happened and when you get rid of a player like James

Harden one of the best players in NBA history you’re going to get a pretty good damn Hall in return and I think so far the Houston Rockets have been doing an amazing job with the hall that they’ve gotten from the James Harden trade and I think since 2021 they have

Been making a bunch of be beautiful decisions in their rebuilding process now me personally I think one of the most important steps when it comes to rebuilding is what you select in the NBA draft I think you got to bring in some great talent you got to bring in some

Great guys and I think so far since that year 2021 the Houston Rockets have done that we look at what they did in the 2021 NBA draft with the number two overall pick they were able to bring in Jaylen green later that round they were

Able to get one of the biggest steals in recent NBA history getting out prining Goon at that 16 spot um that is remarkable by the Houston Rockets we see how impactful he’s been for the for the Houston Rockets this season and he’s definitely in the running for most

Improved player this season we fast forward to that 2022 NBA draft kind of um the same formula there they get another high lottery pick Jabari Smith Jr he’s the third overall pick and that years draft fast forward a little bit kind of the same exact situation I

Believe tar een who I consider to be a Ste in the draft um um in that draft because um I am so hard on T een just on what he can be um just as a Defender um I believe he was the 17th overall pick in that draft if I’m not mistaken fast

Forward to 2023 literally that same formula again um they pick up amen Thompson with the fourth overall pick and somehow they get Cam Whitmore at number 20 cam Whitmore you know he’s a Ste because he’s he was projected to be a a top five a top six pick in the

2023 NBA draft and somehow I was watching on draft night he just like every time at the bottom as it went from picks like six to 20 at at the bottom they had like best available cam Whitmore name his name was right there all the way up until number 20 and then

The Houston Rockets got him so I think what they’ve been doing in the NBA draft over these last few years have been in Big Time those six players right there are filled with so much talent and filled with so much potential so after accumulating that fresh new Raw Talent

Through the NBA draft in my personal opinion the next important step as far as the rebuilding process is bringing in some veteran pres some high quality veteran players and also a good head coach to lead these young guys and get back to winning basketball now the Houston Rockets in my opinion they were

Able to tackle both of these things and the 2023 NBA off season we look at who they brought in for the head coach position they brought in coach e udoka who his last coach in tenure was with the Boston Celtics his first year as a

Head coach and he had one of the best turnarounds in NBA history at one point that season the Boston Celtics they were like in eighth seed and this was like the middle of the Season by the end of the season the Boston Celtics they had one of the best defenses in NBA history

And they also finished as the second seed in the Eastern Conference and we all know they ultimately ended up falling short in the um NBA finals and what I love about Coach Ean uoga something that he’s provided for this team this season as they still kind of

Struggled on the offensive side of the ball he has still been able to provide a defensive identity for this team some sort of identity for this young team we look at the Houston Rockets last season um their defense was a lot worse towards the bottom of the NBA this year they

Jumped all the way up to seventh in defensive rating and a huge part of that goes to coach e udoka because that’s the type of coach that he is it’s a big part of his game plan is getting stops on the defensive side of the ball so I love him

Um I love him I love the Houston Rockets bringing him in I think he fits with this team long term and then we look at those free agent signings we we talk about high quality veteran players and I think that’s exactly what the Houston Rockets went out and got and um during

The time in the summer a lot of people had mixed emotions people feel like that they overpay the two guys that they brought in those two guys were Fred man Fleet and Dylan Brooks me personally I like the signings because I think it gives the Houston Rockets um a lot of

Things that they needed that they were lacking um towards the beginning of this rebuilding stage with fredman Fleet you get a floor General a guy that can run the show and also he’s he’s having his best career this year as as as as far as assist to turnover ratio and then also

His assist per game is a career high this season so having him on the court getting guys easier looks facilitating and making plays have been big time and then also he’s a um he’s a huge reason to he’s a huge reason to that defensive rating jumping up to number seven same

Thing with Dylan Brooks Dylan bicks I love this pickup a lot because in my opinion he’s one of the best Wing Defenders if not the best one of the best Wing defenders in all of the NBA he plays defense at such a high level and he brings a different type of intensity

To the game of basketball so I think these two guys Fred Van Fleet and Dylan Brooks they’ve been absolutely fantastic in the roles that they’ve been asked to play for the Houston Rockets coming into this season and we look at this season as a totality for the Houston Rockets so

Far I think it’s been an amazing season for these guys and I know right now they’re currently sitting at 11th Place in the Western Conference and they’re about five games 4 and a half games behind the Golden State Warriors for that final playing spot now we can rule

Out the Houston Rockets just yet anything can happen in the game of basketball but it’s going to take a lot of hard work to catch up to the Golden State Warriors for that final playing tournament but despite that I still feel like this has been an amazing season so

Far for the Houston Rockets compared to what we’ve seen over the last two or three years I think the most important thing this season is that the Houston Rockets they’ve won a lot more games than they won over the last couple of years and also they just been more

Competitive against the top teams in the NBA pulling off upsets uh winning as underdogs and then just keeping games close against some of the best teams in the NBA I think when you’re in the rebuilding process and you start to see that happen is like a weight is being

Lifted off of your shoulders cuz now you seeing the the work that’s being put up that the work that’s been put in being put in in the off season now it’s starting to pay off and at one point this season the Houston Rockets they held a playoff spot for a very long time

And then as the season went on we just saw some very unfortunate injuries tar e he’s had some injuries that kept him in and out and now he’s ultimately out for the rest of the season um where it really got tough for the Houston Rockets fman Fleet he missed a long period of

Time and he means so much to this team right now that it was kind of hard for them to play without their floor General so um I think I think the Houston Rockets being more competitive this year was big time and then also they found their star they they’re found their

Their Cornerstone franchise guy that they’re going to build around and that’s alron goon singon has been nothing short of outstanding this year um in the intro we talked about him being in the running for that most improved player of the ward he’s averaging around 21 points per

Game nine rebounds five assists and he’s getting compared to a player that a lot of people consider to be the best player in the NBA right now and that’s nicoa yic so alen goon he’s been big time affecting the game in a multitude of

Ways and as of right now he is the guy to build around for the Houston Rockets he has proved that this season and I owe all of you guys um I owe all of you guys an apology now one thing I love about making videos on the Houston Rockets is

That you guys are very active in the comment sections like talking to me and talking to each other a lot of you guys we’re going back and forth on who’s the best player on this team between Al Bron goon and Jaylen green it was about 50%

Saying Al Prince and goon and 50% saying Jaylen green and I think so far this season we have to get that title to alron and then um so um that’s another bright spot right there Alon he has been big time for this team and then now the

Houston Rockets um they got so they got so much young Talent on this team that they can go with so many different ways once this season ends now um now it does get a little complex with the Houston Rockets as well we probably won’t have time to talk about it within this video

Today but they probably will have some tough decisions to make on some of these young cours because now we have to look at it to where we talking about who fits the best around ALR and goon and the probably the biggest question mark over a player’s head right now is Jaylen

Green just because so far this season he has just not been able to figure it out and coming into this season I was letting you guys know that he was going to be the X Factor for the Houston Rockets this year with bringing in guys like Fred Van Fleet and Dylan Brooks now

It’s going to be up to if jayen green can have that that that breakout season that we’re all that that all of our mouths are watering over the Houston Rockets could be a very dangerous team and I think what we saw from them from everybody else this season I think is

Definitely proof in the pudd in if Jaylen green did take that next step I think the Houston Rockets they could have a spot in the playing tournament or maybe even a spot in the playoffs so it’s going to be really interesting to see what the Houston Rockets do um over

These you know their next couple moves as far as an organization I think they do have a couple of tough decisions to make but I think whatever decision they make going forward is going to continue pushing them forward because they already have all of the hard things

Figured out they have a player to build around they have a great um head coach and Coach Ean udoka they have a bunch of young pieces that they can um develop some of these guys have some high trade value so it’s going to be very interesting to see the the next few
