Without Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers are a FIRST-ROUND EXIT! – Kendrick Perkins | NBA Countdown

Hey El thank you so very much cha gum Kendrick Perkins Adrien W narowski here let’s dive into this latest Kawai injury just a little bit more how are the Clippers approaching this one W well kaai Kawhi Leonard is on this trip he’s not expected to miss extended time they

Play the Bulls in Chicago tomorrow I think people became more alarmed because Kawhi Leonard left the arena last night with these back spasms I was told simply it was uncomfortable for him to sit in the arena and he just went home uh but there is not significant concern around

The Clippers that this is anything that’s going to linger okay so everyone around the Los Angeles Clippers can breathe a huge exhale a sigh of relief here because when you hear about injuries and kawii Leonard all of a sudden particularly at this time of year there are some memories that come up as

Al Duncan detailed earlier CH they play uh the Pelicans after that Bulls game that one is on Friday March 15th but long term how do you think the Clippers should be managing this particularly at this point in the season they fortunate to be one of the deepest teams right now

In the NBA and one thing that El said that is very important and I I’m glad that it’s something that is very you know not as bad as what we thought when he left the arena was that this was his 50 58th game so far this NBA season the

Most he’s had as a Los Angeles Clipper in one season and this you know you feel like these are the aches and pains that you eventually play through when you are trying to win and I actually am glad that this is a situation where he’s got Paul George back you’ve got James Harden

Getting James will help you through this Norm Powell has been great for them especially Off the Bench so I’m looking at this Clippers team you got good news you have a sigh of relief hopefully he gets back soon and this is like this these are the Pains of the process of a

Guy who has finally played 58 games this season and you you talk about the the fan base breathing easy when you think about kawh Leonard okay without kawh Leonard the Clippers are a first round exit in my opinion in the tough western conference with kawh Leonard they

Actually could go on and win a championship that’s how much he means to this team do I trust Paul George no do I trust James hard no I trust kawh ly I trust tou so when you think about a healthy Kawhi Leonard and what he’s been

Doing this season and his past of what he’s been doing in the postseason think about all the people that he took tucked in bed and put them to sleep from LeBron to Steph the list goes on so this is one of the most valuable players in our in

The game today one of the most clutch players in the game today and it’s just great news to hear that he won be sideline you know for an extended period of time yeah one more Factor I’m told with that back typically you worry about lower back spasms lower back pain I was

Told this was more of a midback injury again and not significant concern with the Clippers and they again they do not expect kawii Leonard to miss an extended period of time here but perk I disagree a little bit with you a first round exit for the Clippers like I don’t think

Necessarily if they’re going up against a Minnesota Timberwolves that is missing cor anony towns and OKC Thunder that has also similar to the Clippers yet to prove anything I still think this team can make noise even if kawhai has to miss you saw what happened last night

Right without Ka but but what I’m saying think about the West right and think about the first round matchups that they may have possibly have to match up against that’s [Applause] [Applause] hectic

Kendrick Perkins, Adrian Wojnarowski, Chiney Ogwumike and Malika Andrews discuss the latest on Kawhi Leonard’s injury status.

  1. See there you go, "back spasms" are very acute and painful, but if you keep trying to push through it you can damage the muscles and can last a couple weeks.

  2. Last time Kawhi played 60 games he won a title. He's played 58 this season, two more regular season games = 2024 title?

  3. Kawhi is the anchor ⚓️ klaw more valuable than the numbers (everyone obsesses over), he a is a gravatational force on court ..Gravitational! Not sound bite or headline worthy, or highlight worthy .. just a fkn monster baller who could give a fk about your narrative’s

  4. Ik Paul George and James Harden mad as hell watching this like its insane the amount of disrespect they have to sit through

  5. At one point it looked like pf and harden were out of their prime but still good.
But after Russ and now kawhi are injured tbh harden and pg look washed.
They only turn up against low ranking teams with weak Defense. Whenever they play top competition this year harden and pg don’t show up

  6. As long as Kawhi didn't hurt any of his knees, he will be okay. Back spasms don't last that long. Kawhi and Westbrook will be playing in the playoffs. Let Kawhi rest up!

  7. He might miss 5-7 games the most, and be ready for the playoffs. I can see the Clippers win at least 2 series with a healthy Kawhi.

  8. In truth, Kahwi prefers to play healthy. I'm sure it will be a good match when Kawhi is strong and healthy. it's sad that he always gets injured every playoffs. it hurts for someone like me who admires his game.

  9. Talk about how hard it is to win when the team’s super star is not on the court, the Clippers had Kawhi, PG, & Harden the whole game and still lost to a Bucks team without Gianis and Middleton.

  10. Clippers are 7 and 13 against the top ten teams in the league this year. Even with Leonard I’m not sure they get too deep in the playoffs. I hope they do. I’m pulling for them. Hopefully we’ll see in the playoffs something that I think has been missing in the regular season and that is “fire in the belly”. As a team (including their coach) they need to show mental toughness, the desire to dig deep within themselves and will themselves to victory. Much easier said then done. They can’t just rely on talent which it seems they have been doing.

  11. Crazy that the two best teams of the 2010’s are commonly known as either the 2014-19 Warriors or the 2010-14 Heat

    Kawhi beat both of em

  12. This is why I never understood why they risk draft capital and quality role players to go get Harden. The Clippers ONLY issues is the health of their stars. ITS ALWAYS BEEN.

  13. Without Jokic, nuggest are a play-in team.

In other words, Clippers only have 1 legit superstar and that's okay.

  14. The Clippers lost 3 of 4 to the wolves and nearly won a game that the Wolves were on a back to back on a five game seven day trip

  15. What about playoff p ?? The guy who is more invested in his podcast than trying to win a championship. He can’t lead this team ?

  16. I am afraid he is right. Clippers without Kawhi is like a regular G-League team. Kawhi is a pivotal piece for this team. He affects the flow of the Clippers' game on both ends.
