Julius Randle Reveals Remarkable Injury Story, How Kobe Changed His Life & Favorite Knicks | Ep. 7

People like find their own Niche and life or whatever Niche or whatever in life and you know they go about is that what it is Niche three months in college right yeah crazy I think it’s either or it depends tomato I’ve heard both both of y’all what’s up everybody and welcome to

Another episode of The Roommate show of playmaker original where the Vibes are always Immaculate uh we got a very very special guest a three-time Allstar two-time all NBA uh 2021 most improved player um our teammate Julius Randall hey handsome how you doing we started early yeah it’s just good to see you

Manes this great Vibes um a quick question is it is it true your mom was the star Hooper of the family before you got to be big time yeah before I you know you know took Throne from her uh no she definitely was she used to uh it

Used to be like me I had a older I have an older sister and she used to just take us to the rec center and just bust my ass for elbows all that so like when people complain now that I got hit with elbow hit with

Elbows when they play me wild way it came from her she had she had to be nice cuz High School Jew was tough High School Jew was tough High School Jew people don’t real it might seem weird me and Jew were actually in the same high school class yeah obviously you know it

Was a one done and top two one play for four years not the same path but you know same wild C though yeah both wild wild cats right here that’s that’s something you know and you were Carnegie M Carnegie melon Carnegie melon where’s that at was okay what was the uh it’s

Probably the worst mascot of all time Tartan it’s like like a plaid cloth popart tarton tart t r TN does sound like a little French dessert though it’s really bad but their mascot is like a dog is like a Scotty dog like a little Terrier we were doing some research before

Julius came in and we were looking at the rivals 150 in 2013 crazy to look back at some of those names Jaylen swore that Jabari Parker was ranked number one he was for minute thank you I knew it wasn’t crazy he was for a minute it was me it was me and he

Was three or two it was me and him battling back and forth and then and Andrew Wiggins came bro yeah I remember that bro and then when he reclassified up it was just like yeah he had it first time was Braun camp that was crazy him

And and then at one point it was like him vers wigg versus Wiggins everybody was tuned in everybody was just sitting there like yo we got to watch this bro was Gordon was four yep so I think like maybe I was like me and jabari’s like two three Jabari might have been two

Because he had like he just his sophomore year I remember his sophomore year he just took off like he like I think he may like hurt his knee or something ACL in high school or something or manisa something and he came back and he was just skinny and dumb

Athletic and he already had the skill he was like he was like Paul Pierce like athletic wise like everything but then you know wigs yeah we had a good class you R8 yeah I was I was I was 88 up there I was top 100 look at you now man yeah we had

Yeah you know who remember we talked about it before Reggie Cameron who oh re that’s why you that’s crazy re is our class would you ever see me and re talk you like yo 92 I be like yo 63 cuz that was our ESPN rankings that’s crazy for

The people listening tell them who Reggie Cameron is Reggie Cameron um he is one one of our um assistants he’s a video coordinator for us now he went to um went to Georgetown yeah um went to Georgetown went to Georgetown New Jersey players yeah New Jersey players you know

It probably actually play yes my probably helped his game a little bit cuz he wasn’t the most athletic but he could shoot the ball so going to a very non-athletic um offense in Georgetown probably but you lost to Georgetown one time they beat the out of us one year I’ll

Never forget that I’ll never forget that I came home from practice one day it was on a Saturday it was like a day game I walk into the living room and Dad’s like oh y’all down 30 wasn’t even halftime yet at their crib too yeah I never lost Georg toown

Just just so where the camera I didn’t either yeah you never one year I was there yeah but you were there you were there for like Time Out 3 months wait wait what was your record that your soul season there I don’t know I just know we

Went to the championship that’s all I know if they went what they go 380 the next year 38 And1 38 And1 yeah I don’t know where we are cuz you guys are in eight seed right yeah it was 381 we started off the season one or two in the country they’re

Like we going to go 40 and 0 40 and 0 cuz they went to the NIT the year before Oh so y’all like they won the championship they went to nit and our class came we had like seven McDonald’s Amer so they was like y 480 hell

No it did not work out like that at all a lot of pressure huh you come in and it’s like you put all guys together yeah it really wasn’t even the pressure it was more just like college is just a different Beast like from high school so and then like

It’s like the losing and then like you only playing like at most two games in a week so if you lose bro you come back to practice oh oh my God I’ll never forget after our first loss we came back to practice and it was like

Hell we doing wall sits we doing Lane slides and like he running us the whole practice and then by the end of the practice he like yeah y’all on curfew now I’m like bro what I was like C yeah he I think Cal like and I he might have

For like curfew not like regularly but I think like for like a week or two we had a curfew for something maybe that was my life I swear was definely your class cuz your your class is crazy your class was crazy no we did I do vaguely remember some of the

Assistant coaches going in our rooms I’m like yeah that was crazy yeah I’m like bro it’s College bro let let us have a little bit of fun man and you know our dorms is like only the players yeah yeah y all different who who are your

Roommates I had a we had our own rooms but we had like sweetmates okay yeah yeah yeah so okay the sweetmates uh uh James Young James Young was tough to Lefty James but James was funny because like James never wanted to go to class so like we always had 7 a.m.

Classes or whatever oh 7 a.m. yeah we only had our 10 our was 10 I never had 8:00 class everything everything about college made me say like let me get the hell out of here you did your three year three Monon bid and that was you said yo this is the worst

Three months of my life I was like man I got to get out of here but our academic James never want to go to our academic advice used to come bang on the door James wouldn’t answer but no James was cool it was a good dude so Josh NE from

The DMV jaylen’s from Chicago you’re from Texas how would you how would you or this is for all three of you guys but how would you rank those areas in terms of the basketball products they produce chicag you’re chicagoan you don’t want to be considered Chicago Philly or do

You I’m not Philly for this question for this for this question you want to be consider Chicago okay I’m from Chicago you guys rank those three areas in terms of the basketball products they produce overall mm DMV one no I overall but the DMV got some we got

Hoopers though I mean you start off with KD yeah yeah I want to be from Jersey okay yeah that’s what I would say Jersey saying Jersey would Jersey over CH overall I feel like Jersey got hoopers overall Jersey would be Jersey has all the prep schools so they like

They hoopers yeah they import them JY got Rich Kyle Anderson KY K Anderson Kyrie Kyrie Kyrie hey that’s a that’s a lot right there yeah anyone that went to St Pats yeah St Pat’s tough Mich kid Gil what’s his name Michael kid gilis Michael kid gilchris oh my God I’m

Putcher butcher that name what is it again one more time mkg he used yo he used to babysit me swear he used to babysit me for like that makes sense y got similar games okay y’ do y y’all do like workouts in the backyard actually we do

Have something in we both won a championship that line there you go for sure what’ you say nothing my dog jump see they told that we going to have to cut all that out what do it one more time the jump shot oh it was a good jump shot though

Because because it was bro you’re you’re not going to talk about my man like this bro that’s that’s crazy I got was that not his jump shot no if it goes in that’s all that matters it was good for while was better you or him me

For sure for sure or just it depends on the day me for sure stand stand on that yeah stand on that I’m standing on it you know what I mean you think you think Michael kidg mkg you think he shoots better than Josh definitely plays harder than Josh

Trying to practice in the other day like some some Crocs or something like you no we were trying to do we were doing shoot around and Jay Jay was like bro don’t do that the it was cans no think you had the canes was the canes I was going take

Isaiah’s canes you like no and then I had some Deuce I put deu is Louis Vuitton on some Christian Dior on I wanted to do anything but basketball shoes and then I think I actually ended up wearing your Sketchers yeah you done that a couple times for

Sure I it was you know I think he just got H so I was like you know this my dog you know I got to show show support for for my guy you know what I mean are you the first NBA player that they they worked with yeah that’s awesome big Julius R

[Applause] man family man so how did how did that come about um came about it was brought to me and I was just like what the okay like you know I I only wore Nike since like really like I was like 11 mhm like

You a deal when you 11 no stop it bro you ging Texas your own plane and everything this what we doing today you know but no that came and you know I mean long story short uh you know you go through the whole process and I just

Found out that they were just top to bottom from the CEO to people that I work with every day are just incredible people uh you know and I have a lot of say input you know creative and able to do a lot of different things uh you know

So it was more you know money thing but was our opportunity too so I think the biggest thing with that it’s always dope to have you know like you said have a little bit like that creative like have like like input into like what you wear how you wear colorways and those kind

Exactly all of that even like the off course stuff like working with them on that you know going through you know the process of for me it was like how can I help them build their business of basketball you know uh using my platform

And you know what I’m able to do how can I help them and be a part of this I don’t look at this as like you know fiveyear thing whatever like this is something that I wanted to carry on and you know have this relationship and be a

Part of this business when I’m 40 when I’m 50 I can you know my kids be a part of it so it was more of a big picture thing and grown with them so it’s like a it’s partnership instead of like a sponsorship like we’re with it yeah K

And Sketcher deal loading I know right Kai needs a Sketcher deal now right now I saw some highlights recently I was like if how old is he he’s seven I can’t imagine being a seven-year-old pulling up pulling up to my game and I see I see

Ken bro I seen her bro I like swear he’s about to go off to college when I was he looked me in my eye shook my hand I’m like a yo who is this kid this kid is would you ever put him in football or no

Nah he want to play so bad too and he’s a he’s a Cowboys fan oh you good over there Jay High Hopes you know but your throat you guys uh D if you want to was it down you can um you guys always start off you know High Hopes

Like you said you know I know you not talking what is the name of your team I don’t even know the nameb team football team football team with the commanders um but like the thing is like at least we know you know what I mean

Like we don’t at least we don’t go in like yo Super Bowl bound like we going to win like that’s what we maybe eight and eight you know what I mean no that whenever like we win the first couple games of the season that’s exactly what

Commanders fans do is like we say this that might be what they do d do cuz I’m just sitting there like I was that fan this year though you’re that fan yeah we I you know in practice I would say it I was like I’m not getting hype no they

Not Build Me Up Just to you know let me down weak ass Eagles when you were growing up in Texas did you obviously Texas is like football country was it what was that like in terms obviously you were a basketball player but did you feel that yeah definitely I always

Wanted to play um for sure and my mom she was like nah and uh yeah she wouldn’t have it and then I had a teammate who got hurt like you know te like you said Texas football is serious and Friday Night Lights and everybody he got hurt and got concussion and I’m just

Watching him I’m like yeah I’m good I like I’m think the hoping and I just saw like I had another teammate who was really good you know remember Mickey right Mickey Mitchell yeah he was your class he was good and he like he played quarterback and he end up like tearing

His ACL and stuff like that and had like back pain so I’m just like yeah like I’m just stay here where it’s safe I know it’s safe that was not it for you I think I think Mickey had more hype than Julius no he definitely did they were play together cuz he he

Was no I’m talking about they they played High SCH together but when he had he had coming up yeah he had a Titans mixtape a Texas Titans mixtape that like went Cal he was nice though he was nice like nice remember watch he was like you

Know who he reminded me of now I’m think he he was like Ben Simmons like how like he wouldn’t like he wasn’t like a shooter but like transition could pass he could attack like he dunking on people he just did a little bit of everything but he was just yeah he was

Nice do you remember your um I know I remember it your uh your Texas Titans video um I think it was spe yeah that’s what I really like first started duning duing J so Julius it like a sophore year this video came out right and he’s dunking on every single player

On the court like I like dunk on everybody and like I the reason why I was crazy because I was living in Chicago at the time or outside Chicago and we were playing in a spe tournament like in like two weeks he’s yeah Julius R will dominate

Spece whatever I’m like if this is spe I’m not going like this is I’m not going I was like in eighth grade at the time or whatever this that that video was stupid bro those videos and like going to some of those camps when I realized like yo these dudes are really athle

Like yeah like the first it was like the first I like the first time I saw the D I never saw it before it was it was actually you at Bron you did the um East Bay behind your head yeah that was a good days right there I was sitt there

Like I was like and me this is me like I can dunk but I’m I can’t I like windmilled like once in my life or whatever I see that I’m like oh I’m like if this is what I’m going against oh man I was like bro I might

Have to think of a different career bro I was like yo that seemed like so long ago too year it was a great day huh 20 was that 20 was that senior year it had to be like 2012 yeah yeah 2012 2012 12 years ago that’s crazy we getting old

Bro do when you were playing on Texas Titans obviously did when you were in it were you did you realize how kind of how crazy it was because obviously absolutely no other team had anywhere close to the amenities that you yeah I wouldn’t always own the Titans really so

Like I’m growing up used to like I remember my first Au national uh remember the Au National was like the little tournament and stuff flid right yeah but we went the first one I ever went to for our grade I was playing up but it was in Memphis and I remember

Remember staying at like a motel and like sleeping in like four or five kids in a room and I remember I think I also remember like we were watching it was when Braun was in high school so we were watching like him vers like Melo or something on ESPN or something like it

Was something crazy but um yeah I remember that bro like that’s how I started aou and then I go and I’m like why you looking at me bro was in high school he’ be in Middle School like Elementary no bro I’m in elemente Texas Titans days yeah this

This is this and then I get I get to the Titans and you know we’re riding the Mavericks plane and crazy you know order the unlimited room service we don’t even get you unlimited room service bro free we didn’t have any room service bro we don’t even get free room service now

Facts bro I used I thought we was lit we had like little C breakfast you had the little the little cereal you cranked it bro maches Mach the doing W machine they was getting room service facts FL to themselves I was always so like appreciative of it too like as wild as

It was and like crazy like being a kid and experiencing that I was always appreciative CU of like the the um like it took a lot off of my mom right you know having to like a is expensive having to take me pay for things travel

And all that stuff it took a lot off of her so like I was always super appreciative but it was crazy like like I don’t know anybody even still to this day that’s nobody yeah that’s like had experience like that it was crazy yeah shout out to Trout family man they’re

Yeah super blessed to have them in my life for sure where would you rank your high SCH Mi mixtape I ain’t up there I don’t think I’m up there it’s some crazy mixtapes out there bro John Walls yeah John W number one under uh Wiggins got

One was Austin Rivers got one aill car got the best tape ever Riv was ran had what’s the kid that that had the crazy bounce his name was like seven seven Woods or something B had a good one too Bell Quincy Miller them guys like it was some dudes I was like

Is who miap even the thing anymore it’s over used to be a thing that was a thing it was like the map the that’s a fact it’s overtime now Wayne seld a crazy tap s had crazy bounce out was your guys class he was 2013 Wayne Seldon uh no I think

He was 14 no was he I think he was he might have beeny pervis yeah yeah he he he was our Ronnie pervis Josh Selby Josh Selby T yeah those they used to be the like the thing though like I used to love that watch people mixtapes

Andu we used to go your friend house just gather on the computer and just watch Mi tap watch mixtapes I used to love that I watch their kill cars like two weeks ago just to revisit it Crim stop yeah you literally played it in the Sprinter I think we were going home or

We were going somewhere and I look up and I see a kill car highlights he from the DMV too a he’s that’s the DMV we’re doing about no Baltimore is it that’s its own country the Ravens football team thing n they just they’re up there okay yeah don’t hate on Lamar bro

Lamar Lamar ain’t do nothing to Lamar is great you know I mean but just B Baltimore they’re just they’re up there you know what I mean but there was one time a k car we were doing a proam it was like DC versus Baltimore proam so you know there was mad hype I

Forgot where was he got arrested the day before a cute car yeah it was at it was at um Barry Farms I feel like I remember in DC wasn’t it not that not it was that was a different one he got he got arrested yeah he then he came he got

Bailed like got out on bail that morning pulled up gave 50 all tough buckets quick lays hes pull-ups his layup package used to be crazy sir bro he was he he was like how kyri was bro that’s how his was and it also looked so crazy

Cuz he was like 56 and so high off up off the ground yeah it used to be insane and he was like a killer bro like like competitive like one of the most competitive people I’ve ever played sure who was who was the best player you played against in high

School off the top of my head I probably said wigs did you win no was the was Camp no this was at peach jam oh that had to be I don’t remember that that had to be oh that was crazy it was crazy cuz it was the game yeah it’s

Like you know when peace Jam get packed like the upstairs everyone’s locked in man bro yeah that was ins and it was a night game yeah it was crazy for for some I was hurt too we lost I was so hurt you sick oh man I was hurt for for some of

Y’all that don’t know what PE Jam when you when you go on the ebl circuit with the Nike tet um it’s in is it in Georgia it’s technically Georgia or Carolina it’s north August North Thea um but basically all the top ebl teams top Nike teams go there and you compete and I

Think the championship is on ESPN but like when I tell you it’s some of the best high school basketball games like UFC like it it’s hype it gets crazy it’s in a like a small small gym really um or small more complex so the vibe of it you

Have all the top ranked players it’s every college coach you almost had to miss peach jam remember no I never miss PE Jam almost cuz you were you almost didn’t get your Eagle Scout oh yeah that’s true my my dad told me that my dad told me that I was like well

After that was mhm well I was butting up boys J no I’m not missing that one bro I said there’s no way bro um I couldn’t miss but I was locked locked in the Eagle Scouts Boy um you know you still know the scouts uh what’s

It called the the the Nifty or rever what’s the the thing you know you know what I’m talking about um there’s a law there’s a law and the slogan the law the the law yeah sc’s trustworthy loyal helpful friendly courteous kind obedient cheerful thirsty Brave clean and

Reverent we got to clap it up for that yeah right man that carried on in life yeah man feel like I’m I’m like half of those things I don’t know if I’m all of them not even half you know not even I’m a nice guy I’ll say that I’m a nice Guy why sh laughing over there up violated yeah nice guy right there so crazy ebl Texas Titans talk a little bit about UK say what what was one of the best lessons you learned in your three months of college uh I was say I always say this

Number one thing Cal uh I say like taught us cuz it was like bigger than basketball it was like accountability like being responsible for you like not pointing the finger being responsible for what you can control and what you uh what you do on a day-to-day basis um so

I would say like accountability uh was the number one thing and just like being in the moment like he always used to say like it changes when you get to the league like you know the money starts to get involved and everything and the policy like it all changes so like enjoy

This moment this is the last bit of pure basketball I guess he would say last time you can really be like a kid yeah you can’t even do that in college no more now now now they doing the you see the whole thing they doing basically like you know our inseason tournament

They basically doing like one like that in yeah it’s likeing all the teams it’s like eight teams and they all get like a mill each and then the winning team gets another Mill that they split how they choose eight teams I think they they’ll invite them that’s crazy dog what that

Is crazy but that’s crazy bro because then but I was I was all for them getting paid but dog it’s it’s wild now it’s crazy like they could have put like a little bit of like structure to it look how you can’t I don’t know start doing deals and

There’s decades to make up for multi-year deals because people are just going to literally up every year like it’s basically free agency every year and you get you get like before when we transferred you had to either get you had to sit out a year or get a waiver

Now I think they get like like one transfer where they can just go wherever they don’t have to sit out or whatever so yeah they be out there yo how much you getting over there 350 we’ll give you five bro pull up like crazy bro it’s crazy and they do it in

Vegas that’s wild man but yeah account I say accountability man like I’ll take that with me everywhere like even like still to this day it’s like all right if I’m in a position and I find myself like you know like down or whatever and I’m like man like I got to figure this

Out or like back up back against the wall type thing or whatever I’m just like all right well you know focus on what’s in your control you know be accountable for your action stuff like that so that’s some that’s some that’s a good one that’s some real good stuff I know

Yall always joke about like you know joke about what this wild cat and that was a good that was a good I learned I learned a little bit when I was yeah man I know y’all had plenty of time you guys Sor sorry we were not 610 270 that could just just

Jump over anybody I would have went to Villanova you didn’t want that I would have no you wouldn’t have if I knew yall back then you left you would have been out there jump stopping yeah I need that I’m adding that now now I need it you

Wouldn’t have done it then would no at that point you would have been like the exception like he would have saw you dunk you like all right everybody jump stop but you you you just you run and jump and do whatever you want jump St yeah every else jump stop pass fake

Pivot the fundamentals man the fundamentals need that where else are you considering besides Kentucky nowhere really only other place I was really considering was Texas like I wanted to go to Texas but um like cuz I grew up a KD fan like watching KD at Texas you could have been a legend there

Bro bro I watched LaMarcus Aldridge I watched TJ Ford you know Abrams all those guys Cory Joseph you just followed the norm no they sucked they didn’t even help themselves he’s over there looking like yo help me help y’all yeah so I was like I knew I

Wasn’t going I was going to college for a year so I was like man and I wanted to win yeah so nice man whatever it all worked out look at it all sit on this couch it all worked out it was going in thing I’m only going to be here for a

Year I was think I’m like what has what has a good Educational Systems I mean that feed into something well off after basketball what’ you majoring communication get the hell out of here and he did it so he get a free laptop Communications gave us a free laptop bro

That’s why you did it that’s why I did it I it I can’t even be mad at that free MacBook bro at I was in college I didn’t even have a laptop so I sat there I’m like oh I get a free MacBook if I’m a

Com major signed me up I got my laptop I was good you know the worst part about that I was a com major and then they stopped it with your year yeah that was the last year they did it oh they stopped it last year laop or iPad oh

They stopped the laptops that’s crazy that was sick that’s trash we so y’all never had like early classes or late like night classes we had night class night classes we had night classes I think we had to take one night class yeah I’d rather early T night yeah for

Sure I’m not going night class BR class after practice you had to go to a class I had a night class bro I Cal I never went mhm like probably like three times but sometimes it was good though cuz you can get out of practice the end of

Practice You’ be like J jayen Josh you guys got to go yeah damn I really want the practice but whatever you say looking like got like 45 more minutes like a man you just be mad how and you know it going like you know it going into practice obviously what time is it

Y and you just be waiting cuz you knew when it was like my year was the dude George H kovage was like one of our assistants and you knew he walked up to coaching was like like and just whisper it in his ear I’m like oh yeah it’s time to

Go bro now now I’m mad hot y’all got me mad hot bro hey don’t nobody say one thing just let it listen look over there look over there my ha man y’all leave me alone bro y’all leave me alone man we move you know we I’m not even talking about

College no more bro that’s s crazy yes we are I I have one more question about colge you have one I you first you first um obviously there’s a one andone culture at UK what was what is that like coming in when obviously a lot of guys

Had just left a lot of new guys are coming in is it how is it like building culture you know in that in that environment um like how many of your team was was freshman and sophomores a lot like we had maybe like two sophomores and a couple like Walk-Ons that were

Like older classman and then the rest freshman and then the rest of us were really like freshman wow uh I mean it was cool cuz it was like it was super competitive in the sense of like when we got the campus like this is who we’ve grown up playing

Against each other like I grew up playing against the Twins and and all them guys so it’s like it was competitive in that sense of like we like competition but it was like we’re all experiencing this together you know for the first time uh on our own and you

Know we got Cal cussing us out every day we got class you know you experiencing I’ll never for I got to college I’m like man I got to go to class and then tutoring it’s like why the hell I need to go to tutoring for I know I’m not

Going to be here yeah you need tutoring huh you need tutoring no it was mandatory oh yeah a lot of colleges had mandatory like tutoring for M tutoring I didn’t need did you not I didn’t needing that’s what I’m looking at it as though I’m like what the hell y

Say did it I didn’t need it though they just Shannon craing up over there bro Shannon did Josh need tutoring I went I went to a better school academically than she did that’s all I got to say and I had a better score in the ACT than her she’s stupid I took the

Act and I took it in multiple days three he took a three-day act one section a day and the whole test was about time pressure that’s even possible you got manipulate the system baby you got get the Championships bro that’s cheating no he got special he had to get

Special permission oh go ahead and say it he he he got uh special like permission to do it you want to tell the world why you got special permission I in quotes comprehended reading slowly that was not why that’s why she said you could tell that story you lying over

Here no so I went and I was like huh I went it’s out of 36 that’s crazy yeah it’s out of 36 had 100 got a lot of we got a lot of Kentucky guys and Nova guys in the league right mhm the question that wants to be asked is who would win

Is that even a question I’m not going to ask that question okay all right the real question that I think is probably a little more realistic th a you knew what that was going to I didn’t ask I I I said I’m to ask I here looking like please don’t I

Literally said the question up there says uh what’s whatever something about best UK versus the best Nova I didn’t ask that team this is a more realistic question were our no team smack your teaming this a realistic question would y’all smack us what year did y’all win a

Championship let’s what are the let’s go over the fives of each of each team though like who’s your NOA let’s let’s establish who your Nova team is and who his UK team is for people that don’t know for uh all the team that we had

Team that W 2018 2018 cool he was in there um or which team you talking about not worried about them I’m not worried about that team no yeah y’all could beat that team okay but 2018 it was me kale Eric Pascal Dante came off the bench Dante came off the bench Amari

Spellman and Phil Booth as our six our top six y’all y’all got some under so what year was Kell my year I mean he was a when y’all woned that year like he’s a freshman he was sore Richard Richard Jr Richard Jun yeah see we all had another

Year left I mean it just depends on when yall saw us beginning of the Season we was already beginning of the Season we that middle part it was after after after the hype wore off it was that and then we got to the tournament that’s when we started to click but y’all had

Like like Eric and uh Omari cuz Omari was here one year when I was with the Knicks Omari was nice too man you got Dante Off the Bench but that a crazy team I mean y’all probably would have lost by like 15 or something like that nice little ass woman damn send y’all

Back to Philly probably pack some cheese steaks with y’all or some yeah that’s crazy never lost to Yukon though but um who was even at Yukon when y’all played him no when y’all played him oh but the same they had a they had a squad yeah you was nice U you yeah they

Shabaz was nice he hit me with the meanest Stutter Step I ever seen in my life mhm and that’s how bad it was cuz I but that was it was that was the same tournament yeah that was the same tournament oh you was there we we lost to them in the second

Round he was going crazy I was a yeah yeah that was no bo yeah boat right was nice that was yeah no that was buffalo buffalo you lost Buffalo twice who was kind of skinny but was nice like skill I can’t remember his name they did yeah the yeah yeah I know

You talking about yeah but it was tough bro that’s they shouldn’t have won though Florida was by far yeah like the most dominant team that year like they was like they won like 20 25 games in a row that year who’s in the Flor team my

Boing it was all like it was boying Patrick uh what’s his name the big dude P Peterson no uh no young what’s his name Patrick young whatever his name I don’t remember but they were all like older dude yeah they were all like seniors when we get to the tournament

Like a lot of times like seniors experience all that they had hella experience yeah they were good college was fun man College was fun and then obviously draft what was it eight number eight seven seven my bad my bad to to to La La Land

Um crazy crazy um and then what was F your the first game first game bro yeah it was the first game yeah the the thought process of when I broke it yeah just like relieved you said Rel I swear I swear cuz I I don’t know if I even

Told anybody this but like I came out of college and I was like beat down I’m like man that’s why was like the whole time I was there I was like man I got to get the hell out of here like we losing I’m running every day I’m like this

Ain’t it so I get drafted by the Lakers and um you know like after you get drafted you there for the summer working out and stuff like that I was like the first high draft pick that they had had in like years because they just like

They were winning for so long and um like they taking me Byron Scott’s our head coach and you know he come from Pat Riley like that claw so like running you know we running we doing defense the first first practice of training camp is two two and a half hours and we didn’t

Touch a basketball true straight defense and running so it was crazy so but to say that like it’s insane but to say that like during that whole process like I’m having pain in my leg and I got this huge like lump like not in my leg and

I’m playing like I play a game and I go to the locker room after and I’m like it’s this huge like ball like in my leg I’m like man what is this and you know they like icing it and stuff and like I’m just like beat up like I remember

Getting to the first my first ever NBA game and I’m like man like I don’t think I’m going to survive this season like I’m like just just how my body was feeling at 19 years old and I’m sitting on the bench I’m like I physically like

My leg is just killing me uh so when I broke it I was like oh well this is I had a stress reaction in there they know but um I’m like man yeah this is this is what it was but like I kind of needed that time to be honest I don’t even

Think I was ready you know because I was coming in an environment where um like mentally like I’m used to like you know being the guy you know like you said I’m the top kids coming out of high school I go to Kentucky I’m the guy come

Out championship and coob still wants to win so he ain’t looking at me like he looking me like bro contribute yeah just get in where you fit in like this ain’t no development like type thing you know what I mean so it’s the first time I’m

Coming off the bench in my career I’m like bro like like this is whack you know what I mean so like from maturity standpoint I wasn’t even there yet so like even though I like you know God got a a funny sense of humor so even like

You know in that process like I needed that process to learn how to really be a professional you know so like I was able to sit down for a year and really just learn mhm you know almost like a retro year yeah I needed it I needed it for

Sure you got drafted what a how many years later three I I was I was surprised you got drafted like that late though bro Oh I thought he was to say yo say viate I thought he you see they think of me bro you see how do that

Me CRA I’m about to look cut that cut that yeah I was cuz you went 30 right yeah and uh see I got his number right uh no I remember I was like and you were like college like one of the top players in college did you get

College player the year year no Frank Frank Mason but I just remember watching you went College Frank Mason won it he was killing too he was killing too but I just remember watching I’m like how the hell is like dude supposed to be college player of the year going 30th draft

Sounds crazy right it sounds insane it sounds insane ABD was even crazier player the going like what 33rd and being player of the decade yeah that’ be yeah that’d be wild that’d be crazy yeah hopefully it never happens in someone’s career I would I wouldn’t wish

That on my worst enemy I would not wish it on my worst enem but obviously like you’re like sitting there you know watching learning doing all that and obviously you have you know probably one of the best person to watch in terms of Kobe and his

Preparation and his how he got ready for games practices getting body ready like how was that just you know talking with him seeing the mentality like in person cuz everyone says Mama mentality now have half the people don’t even know what it means but yeah you know what was

That like uh I just got to see up close somebody like sacri sacrifice everything for their craft it’s like I’ve never seen somebody like sometimes I go through my process of like like now cuz I’ll say like things that Co told me back then make more sense now even more

Than they did back then some of the you was saying like I couldn’t even speak that language cuz I haven’t been through it yeah you know what I mean so it’s like I had to go through my own process and ups and downs to really understand

It um so like I’ll go through my process and I’ll be like man like I watch like I might watch film I’m like am I tripping like am I reading too much into this like cuz I’m just like looking at every single detail of it and that’s

How he was like I he was like I’ve never seen somebody so particular and detailed about their craft like they he’ll be like no you can’t have a ball right there they going to strip it or you know I mean it’s like footwork or you know we’re going through a workout and just

Like his attention to detail and then his ability to be like all right now we going to rep this hours like I know we say like the first time I said the first time that I ever uh our first practice with the Lakers it was straight basketball uh defense like two hours

Like I’ve been in a workout with this dude at 5:00 in the morning and we doing defense straight for two hours and I’ve never done a workout like like I’m not talking about like hey a practice or whatever like an individual workout bro like you comeing to gym work on your

Game it’s like no we doing some defensive slides bro CRA at 5 in the morning in condition I’m like bro what the hell is this you know what I mean so defensive workouts is it’s crazy and he’s like he’s like no bro you can’t slide your

Feet like that like you got to do it like this like even in that he’s like super detail and I’m like man like oh this is a level of like he was just basically obsessed yeah like he dedicated his life to the craft and for me growing up watching him idolizing him

Um it was like super inspiring like even still to this day like I get chills talking about it cuz it’s like for somebody to dedicate like I was telling my friend this the other day like it’s rare people like find their own niche in Life or whatever Niche or whatever in

Life and you know they go about is that what it is Nish three months in college right yeah crazy I think it’s either or it depend I’ve heard both both of y’all in the middle of a great story you you know people like whatever it is they

It I was like man I’ve been super lucky and blessed to find like a passion in life that I love you know what I mean God blessed me with the ability to play basketball and like love it and be obsessed with it so like I’m blessed to

Have that and for him like to see somebody that you know was obsessed with the game the way he was and loved the game the way he was it was inspiring for me every day it still to this day motivates me like just give everything that you have you know for the

Game is that was that probably what you would take like the biggest lesson you would take from from interacting with them is just uh I mean appreciating yeah I take a lot I take a lot it’s it it varies um but I think it really just all kind of

Like starts with love like he just had a a deep love and and passion for whatever he was doing like even as he was phasing out like his last year he had a love for production and like he would be on the playing like studying like production

And like old Disney films he won an award for uh his animated short yeah but it’s not like by accident nothing is by accident like he you know once he locked in on something like he locked in on it and that was what was inspiring for me

Like I’m like all right man I ain’t crazy like this is what I love doing so yeah I’m going watch basketball all day you know like yeah I’mma want to hoop all day this is what I do you going to New Orleans right cuz obviously you like New Orleans

Do um I like the fans um um I like I I loved the team organization you love the team the city took a little while to get used to I wasn’t I’m not I wasn’t us to like the down south I was right around the corner from

Where you was where I stay yeah you was in Gabriel y bro that that’s the best you love Gabriel he was his he had a crazy crib his CRI I had a crazy you told me how much I said yeah I think oh you asked me about

It didn’t you y I forgot about that bro house was fire no the house where was it in relation to yours it was like Zion so so so it was yeah bro he’s G probably five Doors Down from where where he is okay um so your thought

Process when you signed New Orleans it was like that two for 18 or what with the player option your your thought process um when you you signed there cuz how I look I just I’m curious just cuz like I always looked at it just from the outside looking in it was like you

Played all 82 MH the the year you know your last year my first year with the LA and we were probably out of playoff contention after game 55 game 60 facts and and for me being a rookie it was cool to see um and Luke mentioned I think it was like

The end of the year to see you play um all 82 even even the last you know 15 10 15 games of the Season where a lot of guys especially in career uh you know contract years you know they they did their they you know they did

Their thing and then they kind of sit so so your proess you played all 82 and then had a really good year shut up for the question and then you went to New Orleans and I like me looking at it I was like I thought you were going to get

Rewarded more than what I felt that too yeah than what like so just like what was that here it is process like I I had to like te it up the ball was teed and you took 80 practice swings I had to te I had to let

Everyone get you know the full picture of my question Jaylen so your your thought process of that cuz sometimes for a lot of guys that could be frustrating or no it was them it was it was they sign this $100 million doll contracts after their next the rookie

Deal Jaylen just ask the question a fact bro don’t do this Rari a saying uh no it was it was tough because um it was tough for a couple reasons because that was my best year uh that I had in the league um I was really starting to blossom into

Like like a consistent player that I was looking to come become like I remember during that year like I was on like a little bit of like a run of like playing well like like I had like the most 201 10 games like consist like in a row in

The league uh during that year and then like we kind of called a hot streak a little bit and was winning some games like middle to the end of the year and like I’m like all right man like I’m going into summer I’m like I just played

My ass off and I played all 82 I was like I’m definitely getting paid you know for sure and I obviously wanted to be with the Lakers but it was like it really didn’t matter um and then obviously Braun was coming and stuff so like it was like yeah get your ass out

Of here but uh um I remember I remember that but it was also tricky because I was a restricted uh free agent you know so when you under those those guidelines it’s like you it’s a wait and see game you know what I mean like it’s it’s

Tough uh so I remember the money basically dried up you know and I was kind of like in limbo and team I knew I wasn’t going back to the Lakers like bri had came there I think kcp had signed or resigned shortly after so like there was

No money there and I was a restricted agent I’m looking at all the teams with money and I’m like they don’t got no money either like all the money is gone and I had a few options for like places like I think I might have had like maybe

A chance to go to Miami for a signing trade for good money Cleveland I think Cleveland cuz Braun I could have did a signing trade and Braun was going to LA Cleveland was going to pay me a little bit money and Lakers was just like nah

We don’t want none of them so I was just like man for me at that point I think only the mid level was available uh and I was looking at situations where it was like all right what’s the best basketball fit I was like all right this

Ain’t you know biggest thing like in the league one of the things is like you play so many games you got to learn how to let go yeah you know you lose you got to let go and move on to the next one so my mind was like all right well the

Situation is what it is like let’s look for the best fit and I remember Aaron was like man go play in New Orleans like New Orleans really really wants you and you play alongside ad that’s like great fit so for me it was like I knew like

College I was like man I’m only going there for a year hopefully I can stay longer yeah uh but I’m only going here for a year and then you know I had the player option the second year um so it was just for me it was tough but the

Main thing for me was just like all right just find the best basketball fit and I was glad like I was actually happy like it happened for the best it was the best thing that happened for me at that point because I got to play with ad so I

Got to play along talented player like that a great player like that Drew holiday and I played for Alvin and Alvin was fun as hell to play for you know what I mean like our system was crazy so I really got to like take that next step again as a

Player and I’m like man I can be an All-Star I was like if I get in the right fit situation I was like I can be an Allstar and you know that’s kind of how the New York situation uh popped up was that a great question and answer for

You Jaylen yeah it’s a great answer great answer how did how did you land on how did you land on New York like what was that process like I remember uh I always wanted to play for the like I only want to play for the Lakers when I

Got there you know I was like I wanted that Kobe you know 20 years play for one organization type thing and you know I remember my agent looking at me he was like I was young and naive and he looking at me he like bro like I want

That for you too but that don’t happen much and I’m like man you don’t know me I’m doing like this is what I’m doing whatever uh but I always remembered like the first time I ever played at the Garden my second year in the league and I’m like man if I go

Anywhere like this is where I want to go like this is where I want to play so by the time I got to New Orleans I think they had got the number one pick and I’m like man and then ad was like I’m out of

Here I was like yeah I’m out of here too you we both out I was like yeah I’m not like I came here for you you leaving like all right I’m out so uh uh New York that year they were supposed to get you know KD and Kyrie

And all this so I really wasn’t even looking at that as an option I was looking at Chicago and I was looking at I was trying to go to Dallas and um it was like yeah it was like nah once New York became a option I was

Like man like this is where I got to go like I that’s the only place I wanted to play at you know so I was like man this is like kind of like stars and line of type of moment I think it worked out it worked out pretty pretty well going

Good it’s going good all right guys we gonna get into some fan questions Roy ramos7 how is it to be teammates with Josh on three different teams it was only two but I I yeah when when you got traded I mean no when you left freeny

And when I got traded to New Orleans we was teammates for three days oh no we we missed it by three days three days oh okay but we was teammates twice yeah twice um I mean I like him cuz he has candy I about to say which is all the

Time all the time he got great wine I was about to say that that first year very forgettable I was just I was looking at y’all like what y’all doing I Ain know what to do that year was crazy though bro we was so young yeah we were so young honestly

It feels like two different two different stages two different careers like we had two completely different places in our career then like we was all still young trying to figure it out establish ourselves crazy team though crazy team nice team Lonzo Talent was crazy uh Lonzo we go about B Lonzo JC bi

U Cruz Larry Nance Brook Lopez um KC no was there KP was there yeah um Zu um Jesus crazy yeah we had a wild Team bro yeah Andre Smith was it Andre Smith yeah the dude that pulled up had like 35 was he was killing though the

Guy was in the G League he came in started torching it was Andre andream Andre Ingram what you say Andre what Smith yo you were crazy bro you is JB at Mikey coin snatch why and why you’re a 24 yearold coming off your first 20 20 points per game

Season why come to New York in such an awful situation as a young buding star I respect the hell of that decision and thank you for doing it how about say I hope he’s a Nick fan facts cool uh why um because everything that I envision

Coming to New York is happening now you know I wanted to really establish myself I obviously you know wanted to become an Allstar but I wanted to win here you know I felt like uh and this ain’t shot at nobody but you know it was always New

York was looked at like as a place that nobody wanted to come to MH um so for me it was like I just been around a dude who would take on any challenge y it didn’t matter what it was so kind of felt like it was like that Kobe Spirit

Mble mentality in me like man let me take on this Challenge and see what happens like it’s easy to you know play for the money and all that different type of stuff but it’s for this for me it was more about Legacy and like you know not how other people

Looked at me but like if I’m done playing like how do I want to look back at my career did I challenge myself did I push myself and for me like like I said everything that I want wanted to uh Envision happening it’s happening now you know we’re still not there but

You know that’s you know we on the way for sure it’s a good situation to bet on BET on yourself yeah no for sure for sure and it’s New York it’s like it’s a great place to live did you have and you don’t have to answer this but did you have like contract

Incentives for like All-Star and all NBA stuff like were you thinking that far ahead of like oh this this is I mean I had it in my I had it in my um uh in in my contract I had the incentives for sure uh for me it was

Just like I just needed the situation I really wasn’t like I in my mind I already knew like I was like I can play with all of those dudes like coming off my last year with the Lakers and then my year in New Orleans I’m like man I’m

Seeing it like I’m seeing ad up close I’m like I can I can play with these guys like I can be on that level too you know everybody path and career is just a little bit different but I can be at that level and I just need a situation

And um you know that’s kind of what they sold me on was like you’ll have a situation to develop into that for sure here was it SNY Nick so so jaylen’s in this new is it funco Funko Funko Funko Funko Funko whatever Pop um yeah but like and I actually before I tweeted

This CU I was just like you know what you know you’re the size of your head on this doll looks up you know accurate yeah pretty proportionate honestly but um but I was like you know what let me go on their website and see if that’s just

Like you know like their normal thing like if everyone has an ex you know abnormally large head and it just not all of them did but you think he was targeted like targeted his head like is like twice the size of his body your head is not that

Big bro like it’s pretty big but it’s not that big it’s pretty big pretty big but it’s not that big but they did they did a great job with your braids they did I like it I like it the braid oh they even got my eyebrow yeah like

They there’s great detail on it great detail it’s just obviously they had a pretty big canvas in terms of getting all those things hey bro hey bro that’s the worst part it’s never the person who makes a joke the first person to laugh bro first person to laugh yeah man so oh

My God a lot of material huh tanzer um how was it learning and working out with carmelo and what advice did he give you about playing in New York man Melo a cool ass dude bro like Melo is like a real OG somebody who uh you know embrac

Me uh from day one like everybody that video was going around us playing one1 or whatever and I was like maybe my first week in New York like that summer um but Melo man he just like he’s somebody that I’ve learned a lot from uh especially being here in New York I’ve

Learned how to handle things uh from him I’ve made my mistakes uh being here and I just one of the biggest things that I learned from Melo is man he just like is mellow like that’s really his personality like he’s not too high not too low he’s just solid like a solid

Individual uh not just a as a player but as a person you know what I mean I was actually I was talking to him today um and just talking about a little bit of that too uh but we was trying to talk about getting in the gym or whatever but

He’s just like a solid dude who like offers his time like he’ll be like man come over here like let’s drink some wine watch football like that’s just the type of person he is you know what I mean so he’s somebody that’s cool as hell that you can reach out to that can

Kind of keep you grounded and and give you you know tips on how to be in New York it’s not always the easy say but you know he’s great and then from a from a basketball standpoint like he’s one of the greatest scores ever I remember when I F we first

Played one1 he was making a lot of shots and I was like how the hell is he making this it reminded me of Co in a sense like I remember me and Co play 101 and like I would slap his elbow like hit him on the shoulder wrist it didn’t matter

Like was Cash Melo was like that too it was like once he got to that high release of his shot it didn’t matter was that was Cash J.R Smith was like that too actually really bro what J.R Smith used to make some of the crazy

101 I used to be like what the hell but yeah yeah Melo Melo Elite footwork Elite everything he’s Elite Melo will make you melo’s good enough to make you claim Baltimore on your on your to put just to put him on your all DMV yeah that’s DMV

Too now I’m like he from New York though he not even I mean if we can claim him you know what I mean the sure claiming at Trav Brian music top three favorite Nicks of all time oh that’s tough y’all putting me on the spot with that one oo

Uh that top three is Tough Top say your say favorite Nicks of all time or like just like list your some of your favorite Nicks of all time favorite um just cuz I that’s I grew up watching was Melo like that’s who I grew up watching um that I can

Appreciate uh as a Nick but bro the history is so long I’m about to say Clyde and W I was a big Willis Reed fan Willis Reed yep yeah all of those guys bro re was he was tough what number coming out the tunnel yeah coming out

The tunnel he wear what number did he wear what number did he wear I don’t I just remember the passion that and the inspiration that he played with what number did he wear Josh gets three days to answer the question no no no wow wow we record our next podcast

Come he’ll go to look it up it be question number 33 was he number 33 no He’s 33 I’m going to give you three options I’m he was 33 I’m going give you three options right 33 17 or 21 wait 21 incorrect he was 19 you didn’t say 19

Trick question you didn’t know that’s crazy that’s upstairs pretty sure he’s 19 well let’s hope it is that’s crazy if you wrong hope Bo that’s the beauty of a podcast though if you’re wrong we can just cut that’s a fact cut you can’t cut

This yeah it was 19 ah be a jersey up there every day every day this is a good one at Brunson owns you who would you rather have look over Kaiden for a day Brunson owns you Josh or Jaylen oh is a no-brainer come on bro it is a

No-brainer I have kids you know what I mean you know I would say jayen but Jaylen would corrupt my kid for sure the point for sure you are a culture changer culture corrupt the culture changes corrupt your kid or not oh th but you know Josh is G Josh is gonna yeah I

Gotta say Jay har cuz one he has kids I’m all right you say Josh you say Josh is that your answer yes yeah lame ass Shannon question for you um let’s see uh how much time out of the day does Josh see his kids that’s a that’s a trick question no

It’s not I don’t see mine as much as I like to either exactly I feel we all we all want to have more time you will see too one day sir yeah you’re right but think about hold on you don’t have much time bro it’s F if you told me to watch

Your kid I’m watching your kid no for sure you watching the kid he has experience like basis yeah but but all the but but it when Josh is home it’s crazy when Josh is home I was home I was home other week I was home like two weeks ago I was home

Like I was here in New York and I didn’t see my kid all day yeah I think I saw my kid for probably I didn’t see all day I got up before he went to school to go work out and by the time I got back home

From doing everything I had to do he was already asleep nap time all that bro clearly I’m not ready for this bro I’m telling you dog you’re literally like I’ll get up like cuz like especially after games you’re not trying to get up at 7:30 8:30 so for

Sometimes that’s the only time I can see him yeah that’s true like for my like for Kaiden like the only time that like I can really spend time with him is the day after a game before school like I’ll take him drop them off at school like

7:30 in the morning no the fact that you said Josh like really that like that hurts I just said it cuz of experience yeah man you’re not a parent you know what me a parent bro I mean something I think he would a lot of fun with you but

He would come back corrupt he would come back saying some that I probably you know wouldn’t want him to be saying I’m like son I’m too you too young for me to be joking with you like this that’s a valid point valid point I hate this say but that’s

Valid is there another another Nick that’s not them that you would rather have watch him if you could open it up to the whole Team Jero Jericho is he don’t talk about he’s just going to be like yo just do your thing over there that’s exactly what he going to say do do your thing over there your thing over there all right thing and then not say anything there you go

Yo Jericho how how was he he was cool and that walk out nothing else it was cool that’s a fact that’s a fact oh man what has it been like to have kylin kylin damn you’re not gonna watch this kid you can’t get name right SK in jayen he’s G

To come home questioning his own name yeah you’ll come home dadd my name kin well see yeah that’s why I can’t it looks like an L from my point of view I mean but you should know what his son’s name is anyways what’s your son’s name I have

Two Aaron I mean uh Hey Oh my God there we go there we go thank you what the hell thank you name is Aaron that’s crazy no cuz I was thinking like oh wait no I was thinking I’m going to say his whole government

But I was like I don’t want to put his whole government out there but one one’s name middle name is a Aon no when you have two though it is a little difficult though bro like I be calling the same I be call well they got the same birthday

But I be call second one I’ll be like like what’s his birthday name uh day birthday and yeah the month or whatever in the year and I’ll be like he was born in 20 yeah no you just made fun of me but how you not know his name he go say

Aaron yeah I’ll have I will have Hayes in my hands and call him Hendrick oh come on HRI oh Hayes is just it happens bro it’s tough it it’s tough yeah thanks for switching your answer though I appreciate it yeah I had to switch what has it been like to have KY I’m

Switching back I’m switching back this kri he can’t read I didn’t get extra time my son going to come home I didn’t get extra time I got to do it in the time frame I’ve asked well the time frame is gone now exactly I fail last I

Don’t I don’t get I don’t get a free period to go restudy that’s crazy memorize you can memorize bro you can take that damn test I’m for sure I’m saying that with I’m like all right okay you can ask this question bro all right

So je how has it been having K and so know close to you close to the game obviously fans see know seeing them on the bench they see you know New York they post his highlights his his games and all that like how’s how’s that been man it’s probably my cool the coolest

Thing that uh that I’ve been able to like experience like in my career is like having him being able to grow up with me in a sense you know I remember he was born that third year of my league my third year and um two weeks

Later he was at games and like traveling with me like on the road going to games and stuff like that so I always knew that I wanted him to be like with me step every step of the way like as I was going throughout my career he was like

My motivation you know so um you know I just have now I’m going through like as you ask me this I’m going through all these memories of him coming to the gym with me at night and going to game games and traveling and all this different

Type of stuff so like he’s kind of like grown up in this crazy you know NBA Bubble World or whatever it is so for me it’s it’s the coolest thing cuz as I get older or you know more years in my career and he’s getting older he stared to become his own

Person human being and we can really interact and talk it’s it’s pretty fun you know just seeing you know how he’s grown up mhm timing is so perfect cuz obviously you just had hayzen Hendrick you know but how old is Kaiden he’s seven seven so by the time hayzen

Hendricks are seven you’ll be 36 who right so I’m retired you’ll be done I’m I’m not that so you’re not I guess you told us last five you’ll be you’ll be watching he’ll be watching film with the younger guys at 36 but maybe anyway if I

If I can latch on and get a vet men crazy I’m yeah it might be like 8 mil that that in seven and he he gets it he gets what’s happening and you’re like in the prime of your I feel like it’s the timing he gets to really witness it

That’s really why it’s so cool like like all of these um like quote unquote Milestones that I hit in my career like mean a lot more because I’m able to experience it with him like he’s able to see you know the one thing that I wouldn’t say sucks about this job but it

Does suck is like we were just talking about like the time commitment you know what I mean so it’s like to be great at your craft is going to take time you know and it’s a sacrifice and nobody feels the sacrifice more than your family I would say so like for Kai like

That’s what sucks the most like we travel and I’m away from him for a week or whatever it is and or I’m training all day you know or doing stuff all day whatever um and I’m not able to spend that time with him so like when you reach those milestones and ultimately

  1. Y’all are the definition of what it means to be a knick thank y’all for your passion for this team.πŸ’™πŸ§‘

  2. Knicks have snipers. What I can't understand is how a team full of great 3 pt shooters can't fix Hart's jumpshot! That thing is horrendous! It really hurts the team when the opposing squad just sags off of him – daring him to shoot it. It leaves them playing 4 on 5 on the offensive end. Bruh, you ain't even got to be great; if your jumper went from horrendous to just below average, the knicks would be unstoppable. πŸ˜‚ Please fix it, bro. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  3. crazy these three play for the knicks but are individually fans of the new york football teams 3 divisional rivals lmao

  4. Josh… you ain't that nice of a person. 2 seasons in a row I've gone to Portland to watch you guys and you just ran by my 9-year old son and didn't give him an auto!!!! LOL Jk Jk… I understand. I forgive you… he might not though, haha.

  5. Randle isn’t a Knick I love due to his poor body language sometimes but I did gain a lot of respect for him in this interview

  6. come back soon Ju! us rational knick fans support you and wish you nothing but the best and the best for the team. thanks for this pod yall!

  7. Thank you Julius for coming to the Knicks and instilling the hardworking culture we have much love ✌️

  8. Best episode so far. It was a real treat to see our stars interacting with each other outside of games. Honestly, LOVE Julius Randle. Great basketball player, amzing human being, and an even better father. Knicks fans who ain't standing behind JU either don't watch the game or are filthy casuals. Thanks for putting NYK on the map again, my kings

  9. Great episode and chemistry to diffuse all those tension clips of our guys going at it. They cant build narratives after this one. Kudos

  10. Growing up in Jersey I’ve seen so many talented players come out of my home state and then I moved to Virginia the DMV area and started following basketball here and man I’ve been blown away by the amount of talent that comes from this area shout out to the DMV and Jersey !!

  11. Getting more and more comfortable with each episode, the vibe and flow of the conversation this episode was A1. Love Ju getting some love for what he’s brought to NY!

  12. Bro Jalen is so competitive πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ dog cant even lose to Josh in a hypothetical question πŸ’―πŸ’―βœ…

  13. Matt doesn't get enough credit as a host. The man clearly puts in the work researching before podcasts, and he always asks great questions. Respect

  14. This is the group I hope wins it all trophy πŸ† Thank you Julius Randle for putting us on back on the map. This is a really likeable group. Been a kNick fan before All 3 of them were born .

  15. And to think Jalen Brunson as a kid likely met my favorite basketball player; Patrick Ewing . I think Rick Brunson was with the kNicks 2 or 3 seasons spread out.

  16. My wife is a Josh Hart because he looks just like her dad from the 70s. Go kNicks. (They say everyone has a twin out there)

  17. Recently got back into basketball after a visit to New York, loving this new team and enjoying this podcast. For anyone who is interested in or enjoys basketball, I think you'll enjoy it. I love all the bromance, but especially the bro jokes – gives a great insight into the team πŸ˜‚

  18. They are hilarious πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Im glad we have a team that has so much chemistry.
