So Cronin really traded nothing and got Canadian KD back, legend

Scoots looked rough but long way to go before I give up on him.
I think the only thing I’m disappointed at is the lack of verticality he has. He’s more of a long jumper than high which will definitely impact on his finishing ability.

One of Toumani’s best games of his career, love the efficiency and defense.

Went straight to Tankathon to spin that wheel. Sadly the Warriors got the #1 pick. Life as a Blazers fan is hard.

No time to write a game recap today, but:
Banton looked amazing. I keep waiting for his shot to fall back to earth, but he keeps making them. Hopefully it’s for real and if that’s the case, we found a steal.
I continue to think Scoot needs to learn how to play off 2 feet in the paint like SGA, Brogdon, or Jalen Brunson. He’s strong enough to do it, and I think it would be much more effective than his current finishing package because this is just not working at all.
Toumani’s offense since the all star break is SO encouraging. It’s not even that he’s hitting shots (which is great) but he’s doing more stuff off the dribble too (and showing flashes of passing). I love it.

getting harder and harder to see scoot turning into anything good. hoping he proves me wrong

I still believe but that was as bad a Scoot game on both ends of the floor as we’ve seen. Every one of his worst tendencies on display for most of this one.
Edit: Also, not a great look that the pregame Haberstat was setting expectations for a clunker Scoot game by citing bad homecoming performances by other rookie guards.

Let’s stop talking about weak ass scoot and talk about banton more

Banton was dominant all night, that was actually crazy to see. He looked like he was playing 2k where he realized he can just call for the ball and run in the lane and finish lol. His passing looked really solid too and he was super efficient until the end of the game where he forced some bad looks BUT
I think it’s because this season the offense has been SO bad, whoever is hot gets to throw up more shots because nobody knows what to do on offense otherwise. We saw it from Simon’s who will have efficient nights and then late in the game, he will start missing a few consecutive shots because the game is on the line and Chauncey seems like he is totally fine with just forcing the hot hand.
I wish that Chauncey would have stopped that all year. I get it we have been limited with injuries and inexperience but we have seen every player with a good scoring night just get to keep getting shots up because there’s nothing else we can think if

Our most exciting player right now is a guard that we picked up for nothing halfway through the season. Banton is great but how does he fit into the future
