MPJ says he doubts Jontay did it

Let’s hope this is true but it is seeming highly doubtful. Interested to see what the investigation reveals

What’s he gonna say, yea my brother bet the under on his own play to make a couple thousand, even tho he could have played his best and got a minimum contract worth a million?

  2. Thick-Ball25

Doubt?? That ain’t that strong of a defence. He should know and willing to die on the hill for your brother if he’s sure. This is more damning than helping. But that’s just my opinion.

  3. Lucky_Context

“highly doubt” isnt the really that big of an endorsement. from a brother? mpj cracked the door open to be wrong. lol so it cant get used against him if he falls.

  4. Yinanization

But what is Keisha Combs’ take on the whole Diddy situation though?

  5. Oozeinator

I’m taking the under on him highly doubting he did it.

  6. Stinky_DungBeatle

Thanks for the great input OP, I really thought MPJ was going to say “My brother did it F him’

  7. “I’ve known him my whole life…” like no fucking shit lmao

These boys are DUMB. Just like dumb dumb.

  8. da_reddit_reader

I mean what if he was like “I’m gonna score over my over/under” 😂

  9. tightcorners

If he comes back innocent it would probably turn into a witch hunt in the raptors organization.

  10. Namorath82

Would have been funny if he said “my brother would always cheat at mario kart or mortal kombat… so yeah I’m not surprised”

  11. SportsHubLTD

As if his brother is gonna go “idk….we’ll have to see….”

  12. I find it amazing what darko has had to deal with this year

This gambling accusation is just unreal especially if it is a player reporting to him they can’t play and he has to second guess that now just wild

  13. Ask their parents next. Surely they will also be unbiased in this.

What is MPJ suppose to say here? “Nah my brother is definitely a sleaze bag”?

  14. theflyingsamurai

Theres no way he did it, because I actually did it.

  15. RevolutionaryFarm902

Yes let’s believe the guy who spreads Covid conspiracy theories. This family is full of idiots, lol.

  16. Internal_Regret9378

“Things we expected him to say” for $400, Alex.

Gambling addiction trumps logic. It’s like that Uncut Gems movie where Adam Sandler’s character just couldn’t help himself. He had multiple opportunities to clear his debts and just kept digging a deeper hole.

Honestly, MPJ is one of the dumbest players I’ve seen and when I found out they were brothers my first thought was I hope he doesn’t pull some dumbass shit. And then he pulled some dumbass shit.

I believe him. It doesn’t make sense for JT to just chuck his career away for chump change.

If he actually did it, then he is stupid, and we’re better off getting rid of a stupid person because they will screw up with something else more important.

I hope this is true man he definitely could’ve been a fantastic back centre in the league, man’s passing was phenomenal, he could shoot well and played good defense. Anyone know if this is like a lifetime NBA ban of its true? Or is it a suspension never seen this happen before personally

  21. Porter family is known for doing dumb shit, I wouldn’t count it out.

  22. basedcvrp

“I’ve known my brother my whole life” lmao

  23. GrunDMC74

I’d agree that it doesn’t make sense. He’s going to forfeit the chance at millions with an NBA contract to win tens of thousands on prop bets? What’s more likely to me is that he was coerced. J.B Bickerstaff revealed he had to go to the league due to gambling related threats, seems reasonable that we’re looking at the same thing here. Entirely predictable and perhaps inevitable. There’s no way nobody raised their hand to point out that in exchange for gambling revenue you’d risk forfeiting the integrity of sport.

Pack it up boys , an open and shut case!

Here’s the thing: what was the total win? $20k? $100k? It doesn’t make much sense that Jontay, while showing he’s pretty much ready to be a serviceable big in the league, would immediately throw it all away for such a tiny payoff. I’ll wait for the investigation results before throwing him under the ~~bus~~ tank.
