D’Angelo Russell to the Spurs? San Antonio Spurs News

Recent report suggests the Spurs is a possible destination for D’Angelo Russell what is up San Antonio Spurs fans welcome to TSR Sports I came across this article this morning in regards to d’angel Russell and some of you have mentioned in comments on some videos that Danel Russell is a player that you

Think that we should go after and try to get to the San Antonio Spurs so I’m going to go over this article and what a has to say and of course I’m going to give my two cents but while I’m doing so I love to here your two cents would you

Like to make a a move at the end of Russell what do you think we would have to give up to snag him away from the Lakers aren’t they trying to win now let me know in the comments down below hit the thumbs up to like support your

Channel And subscribe become part of the best Spurs community on YouTube because you guys are awesome I said it pop that’s kind of how I’m feeling about Russell T says first well let’s get into the article first the suggested reports keep rolling in for the San Antonio Spurs the point

Guard position has been the primary focus of the speculation I like Trey Jones but most people would agree that he’s not the starting point guard of the future for the San Antonio Spurs and that’s a position that we certainly can use and upgrade us and an upgrade at

Ford Julian champeny like I been playing as of lately especially last night but not a starter in the NBA as of yet anyway let’s get into the article I’m rambling now the focus has shifted to bring in Talent to elevate position and fans have heard every idea from building

Through the draft to acquiring Trey Young a recent report suggests the subers look to bring in Los Angeles Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell as a stop Gap option that would be the worst thing the Spurs could do and I agree let’s talk about why this is a bad idea there’s no

Way the Spurs will look at d’angel Russell as a long-term option on the team not only is he an older player not really what’s he like 27 but he plays no defense that’s already an issue right there because our defense has generally been bad this year and his inconsistency

On offense has been a part of his basketball makeup since beginning of his career in 2015 over the past N9 years Russell has shot 43% from the field that’s not good every other option that has been floated as viable for the Spurs is better than acquiring d’angel

Russell Trey young would give the Spurs an instant offensive threat that teams would have to game plan around a draft choice could perfectly line the Spurs with the Spurs timeline Russell would likely be off the team in a few years and Anton will be back to square one

Trying to find a floor General Victor wama has shown rapid growth and Transcendent ability he has he deserves better than the acquisition of a subpar Talent ouch subpar talent I forgot they said that in an effort to Kick the Can down the road for what would likely be a

Minimal return so trade players and draft picks whatever it may be to acquire d’angel Russell from the Lakers in the off season I said Earl in the video the Lakers want to win now what they’re not going to want a bunch of picks from US unless in the off seon they have an

Atrocious showing in the playoffs maybe they get swept in the first round and they’re like you know what this isn’t working we’ve been trying the ship has sailed let’s break it all down LeBron will go this way he’s going to go play with bronnie and we’ll just you know

Rebuild and maybe it’s time to move on from d’angel Russell there’s also his contract expires after this next season so could the Spurs go after him then look the interesting thing I want to point out to First fans in this article is they mentioned Trey young as an

Option and how it sounds like he would be an impr a huge improvement over d’angel Russell because of Russell’s bad shooting however D’s shooting splits for his career are 43 37 and 79 field goal percentage three-point percentage and free throw percentage Trey Young shooting splits over his career 43 35 87

Am I missing something is mass not massing isn’t he a poor shooter as well and you guys have pointed that out a lot one of the reasons you don’t want Trey young is one he’s a bad Defender two he’s not an efficient scorer he’s a high volume he reminds me of Allen Iverson

Takes a lot of shots but doesn’t make a lot of shots what did we just read about DLo a bad Defender and a poor shooter so why why do I see a lot of analysists say let’s go get Trey Young and the reasons that Spurs fans don’t want Trey

Young Trey young are the reasons that they’re saying that we wouldn’t want the angel Russell and they apply to both I don’t know if I said that right that s come out though I want the flaws in both their games are similar maybe Trey young has a higher ceiling maybe being with

San Antonio he could Elevate his game and shoot better but you know what who’s shooting better this year d’angel Russell I think I saw you shooting 43% from Beyond The Arc a career high and that’s probably because of the talent around him honestly this this is a no that

There’s no chance this is happening but I thought at least you know I like making videos about the Spurs and I saw this I like you know let me talk about this because you the community some people have said here and there in passing what about DLo to the

Spurs no thanks I’m going to pass I nope I you guys if for anybody that’s new to the channel real quick I have always been a bill to the draft if you can my favorite teams are the Spurs the Giants and the Yankees and my favorite players on the

Are guys that were homegrown drafted David Robinson Tim Duncan mono joli Tony Parker Kelvin Johnson Victor wama so forth and so on technically the Giants did not draft Eli Manning but he was traded that night so he was essentially drafted by the New York Giants and then you have players like Michael Strahan

Lawrence Taylor Tiki Barber used to be saquon Barkley and Odo Beckham Jr so forth and so on and then the Yankees the Yankees are are the perfect example of what I love to see happen and not happen with a sports team I follow some of my favorite Yankees of

All time berie Williams marianao Rivera Derek Jeter Aaron judge those type of players that you bring in and are homegrown and you develop through the system and then we have guys that we brought in like A-Rod and Gian Carlos santon and I’m just like not really a

Fan of those huge contracts for players that are proven elsewhere and I understand I understand you can’t always just build through the draft we’ve been very lucky blessed as a Spurs fan to have players like David Robinson Tim Duncan jobi and Parker all come in and create a dynasty we’re very lucky that

Does not happen often and it happened for us can it happen again maybe maybe not if the Spurs win the first overall pick then maybe it does happen but I understand we are going to need vets off the bench we’re going to need some leadership maybe players that have had

Champion Championship experience when we get to that point but just bringing in vets that are established somewhere else giving them huke these huge contracts and hoping that they work out with your guys that didn’t come up in the system I think that’s always a very dangerous

Thing to do we’ve seen a lot of players that excelled here the likers are the perfect example Russell Westbrook say what you on him Russell West brick Mr triple double was dropped into LA and what he last one year and it did not work with him ad and LeBron they did not

Even make the playoffs so you just can’t take an established star and hope that they’ll automatically work with what you’re doing and I don’t think I don’t think this would work so I’m kind of ranting a bit but I just I don’t want us to make the

Mistake of bringing somebody in with a huge contract and then it and then it doesn’t work and that’s my biggest fear with Trey young because I think that’s the player out of all the trade talks we’re seeing that’s the one that has the best chance to come to the Spurs the worst

Possible thing Spurs fans that could happen with our franchise is we give up the motherload for Trey young three first round picks four first round picks five first round picks and some of those picks might be the really heavily protected pick or maybe our picks are protected that we send their way anyway

We give up a whole bunch of stuff for Trey young and then it doesn’t work and he’s out of here in three or four years and then we’re starting over that’s the worst thing that happened and it scares me and I also understand though sometimes you have to take a chance you

Got to risk it for the biscuit anyway that’s all I got thank you all for tuning in hopefully you’re having a wonderful day and uh I’ll see you in the next video Until Then and as always ghost Spurs go to

DLo to the Spurs?

  1. We need shooting and playmakers. If that’s DLo then let’s go get him. If it’s Trae they let’s get him.

  2. If the Spurs don't have to trade for Russell then it may be a good move for the time being. Right now Trae is going to be too expensive but he has an out of his contract in two seasons if he wants to come to the Spurs. The Spurs can then focus on other areas of need in the roster.

  3. Its a big fat NO from me. Let's take our time and have a little patience. I don't want to look back in 5 years or so and regret we rushed in, making all the wrong choices in the process.

  4. What maniac is saying this? Why in the Wild world of sports would the Spurs help the Lakers off load DLo which in turn would hurt the Spurs ability to sign Tre Young or anyone else of impact.

  5. I like it but as long as pop still here we won't pull the trigger even if it makes us better

  6. "I have always been a build through the draft, if possible…" Yes, and I agree with that for the Spurs in general, but I think that we have a special circumstance here with Victor. Here we have a generational talent – could end up being the GOAT for all we know, that's his potential – and he will be ready to contend in the playoffs next year. In the past we had David and Tim come into teams that already had a veteran core, so sure, just start drafting a team around that core. But with Wemby, if we only grow through the draft, it will take a few seasons to contend and Wemby is ready to be great right now. I feel it would be a waste of his talent and skill level if we did not try to acquire a couple of all-star-level veteran players – a shooter and a PG – to complement him. Devin and Jeremy are really coming along, but we need more and we need some star-powered vets to help communicate on the floor to make good decisions. Just my humble opinion.

  7. Well… If we’re fantasising here… I would like to see the Spurs go after OG Anunoby and Reggie Jackson in free agency. I would even go as far as signing Drummond, for rim protection purposes. Then trade some of draft capital and guys like Collins, Osman and even Johnson for some 3-and-D wings, like Melton from Sixers or O’Neale from Suns and a backup PF, like Isaac from Orlando. That would be a starting lineup of Wemby, Sochan, Anunoby, Vassell and Jackson, with Melton, O’Neale, Jones, Drummond and Isaac from the bench. Add Branham, Wesley, Bassey and this year’s pick, and you have a team.

Now, back to reality- building through draft it is.

  8. I'm not super high on Russel. If there was some way to swing him for cheap (unlikely) then he would be an upgrade over Jones, for what it's worth. Not high on this one.

  9. Absolutely NOT !!! His defense is a nightmare. Watch Lal and pay attention what he is doing. Such a point guard is useless in the play off. Absolutely not.

  10. Rich im with you since 2019 BUT this video is completely different cuz the Lakers have their problems and issues but in the last 3 months since January we are playing pretty quite. DLo is not going anywhere and the Lakers are a solid team yet. About LeBron he knows playing with his son is very doubtful. So disagree with the Lakers are that struggle and disagree with 43% field is not that bad that's hugh the only thing i agree with this video is DLo is not going to be a Spurs
