Practice Interview: Bam Adebayo

Uh I mean obviously doing more film than ever uh but just reading the game you know sometimes it might be a quick pass sometimes it might be a skip to the opposite side uh it’s really how it’s really how they play how they double how much of that is also not just you

Watching the film but communicating with your teammates is there anything that they have to change when you’re in that double or or have had to change while pring that double uh yeah but I mean we we go over this a thousand reps in practice you know switching who’s going to double it

Might be the bottom guy it might try to double Baseline it just depends so for us man we we go through this a lot uh because me and Jimmy see doubles a lot so you know we we understand what we have to do we understand when guys when

Guys double somebody has to cut uh just to draw another defender in so somebody can get a open shot you know B you said that at this point every game is the most fun at this point when you as a team for for specifically for you do you

Look at the standings at all or do you more so focus on the game you got to win that game by game you know you get you get caught up into standings and how many games we got left and who we playing you you’ll let some slip so for

Me it’s game by game kind of in the same ve as that like a lot of guys are banged up right now missing games right now how do you just stay focused on not being Fred about what’s not on the court focusing on like just the game

Hey I mean just what you said focusing on the game uh let everything else you worry about that later uh if you’re available you’re available play if you’re not get as much treatment as you can to to get back on the court some time all these other guys out there was

The role you expected him to play the RO play all the usage how is his his offensive skill set man I mean he can he can make something out of nothing uh clock winding down getting double whatever the case may be he can make something out of nothing so for us we

Need guys like that down the stretch when we need a bucket uh and then obviously he can do the the tangibles catch and shoot get us in the offense run Point uh so for us man he he does so many things well uh it just doesn’t do

Anything but help our team you looking ahead at the game for tomorrow you know obviously Portland’s a very young team they do have eight you though what’s your sort of assessment Uh go out there they’re going to play hard cuz they’re young uh you know they’re trying to they’re still trying to collect wins they’re trying to win for us is staying the course staying focused and uh trying to get this W ni said that he’s a pretty good one-on-one

Defender that he’s turned himself into a good one-on-one Defender where where have you seen the growth there have you kind of have you seen that from him yeah I mean just one having an opportunity to play uh I feel like that gets you more comfortable than any practice rep is you

Know being out there actually going against guys you know seeing that you seeing that you can guard people uh I feel like that makes a difference for his conference

  1. Not complaining just can I make a suggestion: sometimes it is a little hard to hear the questions being asked when the background noise is loud. Maybe add subtitles if possible? I don't think the CC is picking anything up…. just a suggestion.
