Stephen Curry Advised to Think of Possible Move to Timberwolves for dream Anthony Edwards pairing

Okay, this seems completely fantasy based as an opinion. But to think of it, the entire edifice around Steph is crumbling. He needs a last shot at a ring. If this were to become a possibility, what could the wolves realistically offer?

If the Warriors trade Curry, that means they want to rebuild, which means they need draft capital, which the wolves don’t have.

If that happended i would buy season tickets tomorrow

every year since the dawn of time: warrriors should trade for KAT to give Steph a ring

    this year:

  4. Players who already have multiple rings don’t need a “last shot”

This would never happen, but can we just appreciate that it was brought up. When was the last time you heard that a star player should come to the Timberwolves to win a championship? It’s always KG, Love, KAT, Ant need to leave to win. They are specifically saying here that KAT and Ant would give Curry a chance at a championship again in Minnesota.

Never going to happen but I absolutely love that it was brought up.

So Kahn was playing the long game the whole time

Don’t want him. His Dad Dell Curry and him apparently discouraged KAHHHN! from taking him in the Rubio/Flynn draft because of the market and he couldn’t play golf here year round like on the west coast. Not that it matters you draft him anyways, but I’d rather win with our guys we drafted then taking the KD “mercenary” route to a ring anyway.

P:S.: GS wouldn’t trade him for financial/legacy reasons alone, their fans would literally boycott the team. Steph is like Kobe to them. And we have no picks and don’t need him. Klay Thompson actually makes more sense and is more feasible as a bench sniper/weapon that wouldn’t cost alot to get.

I would personally give him any one of my organs.

I mean… this isn’t a terrible idea if Curry was receptive. I don’t think the Warriors would want either KAT or Gobert (because they’d be tanking).

Here is an idea that could actually be realistic. Three team trade between Nets/Warriors/Wolves

    Timberwolves: Curry

    Nets: KAT

Warriors: 4-5 firsts from Brooklyn + high 2024 2nd from MN and a few tertiary pieces.

Nets get a still youngish star player to add to their core without having to give up any players — I think this is important for them hypothetically. Its a lot of picks though for KAT. Frankly, I’d be A-OK with the Timberwolves adding their 2024 1st (would have to happen after the draft though).

Warriors get as many firsts as they can while getting insane cap relief instantly for their rebuild. This allows them to sell off their remaining pieces easier as they can take back bad salary for additional picks. They could easily use this as a springboard to gain 10-12 first round picks a la OKC when they re-built.

And the Timberwolves instantly become likely unquestioned championship favorites in 2024-2025 and if they can pay the tax at a minimum top 3-5 contenders in 2025-2026.

Curry/Ant/JMac/Naz/Gobert with a bench of Conley/NAW/Anderson and pieces like Minott/Miller and the 2024 1st round pick is just silly good. I honestly can’t fathom how synergistic that starting line-up is with the gravity that Curry would add clearing things up for Ant and Gobert. If everyone stayed healthy and Ant keeps up the development curve I honestly think that team cruises to the WCF without much resistance.

If curry plays for another team it will be Charlotte. It’s where him and his wife are from, all his kids grandparents live there. His dad calls the games and would be on every road trip with him, his brother is on the team already. Plus the team would probably offer him a stake in ownership to help legitimize the team.

OP, just a piece of advice, don’t believe any “opinion” or “hypothetical” pieces from Essentiallysports

I am taking KAT over Curry right now. Curry is older than me (35).

Fun to think about hypotheticals like this, sure. But don’t think for a moment it’s actual news. It’s an article (poorly written btw) about two guys on the radio talking out of their asses.

It could only have happened if Steph were still ringless now. But he has 4 already; there’s no way he could mess up the legacy of being a one-team player

**This makes no sense in any way.**

Steph is getting old and can’t do it every night anymore (so what are we getting?), he gets paid a lot (we’re not really in a position to pay … more), and Golden State will want things we don’t have or won’t part with (picks / players).

  16. BLarson31

We have a mostly young core. Absolutely do not want to break any of that up for an aging star on a huge contract.

  17. He is used to shooting from a long distance, so the Wolves would be a natural fit!

  18. Redscareforcishetmen

It’ll never happen but Rudy/Ant with Steph is the perfect trio for lte career Steph. So many guys with different kinds of gravity. They’d play off each other so well.
Ant and steph on team USA 👀 still not happenin

Look at Dame in Milwaukee. These dudes are falling off. It would be a terrible move for the wolves.
