Jokic brings back old school fundamentals and this is why he is a winner over his opponents who are much more athletic. Many fundamentals have been lost over the years due to….
-players skipping college
-players priorities (they’d rather have a league MVP than a ring. They’d rather have a high💰shoe deal than a ring).
-overall 🏀 iQ has dropped significantly since the 1980s
-players would rather make a flashy dunk (+2) than an assist to a 3 point shot. AKA more concerned about SELF than TEAM.
-like the NFL…. NBA rule changes have made things easier for scoring and tougher on defenders. At this rate by 2040 an NBA game will look like a mix of a game of HORSE + a dunk contest.

Jokic is a Point Center.
His strength is underrated, and combine that with his touch inside and from 3, not much you can do when he's one of the best passers of all-time too.

I've NEVER heard Bird gush over anyone specific. Doesn't surprise me though. The Joker is so much like Bird. He can't jump. He's slow. But he's also in total control of the game by being 2-3 steps ahead while being a shooting assassin
