I have the Mavericks winning this series against the Clippers in 5 games. Reason why is because this is a different Mavericks team than what we saw last time. The additons of PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford have been a tremendous boost for this team and they have been playing better defense in this stretch. In the last 18 games, the Maveivks went 16-2 with this lineup:
PG Luka Doncic SG Kyrie Irving SF Derrick Jones Jr PF PJ Washington C Daniel Gafford
That is an extremely good lineup and look at the Mavericks bench unit:
Bench: PG Dante Exum SG Josh Green SF Tim Hardaway Jr PF Maxi Kleber C Dereck Lively PG Jaden Hardy SG AJ Lawson SF O Max Prosper PF Markieff Morris C Dwight Powell
It is an extremely deep bench and Jason Kidd (who I believe should win COTY) is using all of the tools necessary to win us games. I understand that the Clippers are a solid team and all but they havent faced this new looked Mavericks team since the trade deadline and I think Tyronn Lue is gonna be searching for ways to exploit us again and I dont think the 2nd time around is gonna help him this time.
