This is easy to gloat about now, but keep it real, did ANYONE see Jalen being THIS good? Like, the dude has way exceeded expectations and then some. Personally, I thought he’d be a good enough PG to get us to be .500 at most and a couple of first round exits. I didn’t see him as some scrub like some of these other guys did but definitely did not expect him evolving into a motherfucking MVP candidate a year after signing him either.

When we got him? I thought we got a good deal. And 18-20 pt scorer who maybe had 21-22 pt upside because of what he did with the Mavs in the playoffs and 7-8 assists.
I had no idea he’d be 28-29 PPG, adding nearly 7 assists, being a stupid good leader who makes everyone else better and gel together. He’s one of those winning players.

Yall going to act like the majority of this sub did not have the same exact takes after we signed Brunson. As someone who supported the signing from jump, I think this sub collectively needs to spend more time voting for Brunson for the Allstar game as atonement. Given the size of our community, I think it is a bigger travesty that our fanbase didn’t vote this dude into a starting position for Allstar game versus the media underestimating him. The media has always had a bias against the Knicks and it is up to the fans to change the narrative and some of yall only really show up to bitch so you are no better than these talking heads.

No one thought Brunson would be THIS good. Even thought I was an optimist, the best compliment I gave Brunson right after the signing was that he was better than Garland. My friends even thought I was crazy. Now he’s blown past that comparison and he’s legitimately the best pg in the east.
