  1. Of course Othani WAS GAMBLING, and you guys know it.- – – I'm sure there is some kind of mafia protecting Shoei. – – – But, he was gambling all right. – – – MLB version, is a childrens fairy tale, and you have to be stpid to believe it.

  2. There's questionable decision making, and then there's poor decision making, and then there's terrible decision making, and then there's what this guy did. Did he honestly not know that a bigtime legal sportsbook wasn't going to get suspicious when a bunch of bets were suddenly made taking the under on some rando backup NBA center's stat line, including an $80g bet that paid off over $1 million? Oh, and then they find out, yeah he checked himself out of that game way early with some mystery "illness." OK, career over, thanks for playing, goodbye. He may be lucky to avoid spending time as a guest in the Tim Donaghy Suite at the Pensacola Federal Prison Camp

  3. Guy was giving betting advice on Twitter, complete idiot could have made more than most playing ball even if not in the NBA.

  4. How could you guys just gloss over the prop bets that he ensured by faking illness and injury? That’s way worse than simply betting against his own team during a win.

  5. So why is Scott foster still employed as a referee when he’s the reason Tim Donaghy had a mafia bookie contact in the first place

  6. Jontay Porter should’ve gotten an interpreter so he could hide behind a language barrier. He’d still be playing basketball today.

  7. Gambling companies and mobsters get in bed with Professional Sports… Players and employees get caught gambling… WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT!

  8. Does everyone believe he only bet on them to lose? This is how you make him seem like a fringe idiot. This is going to get worse with the next gen of players that have only been pumped full of gambling.

  9. This guy didn't have a lapse in judgement. He purposefully performed these acts to help cover spreads multiple times. What Calvin Ridley did when he was depressed and at home with no team contact was a judgement lapse. This is not even in the same league as that.

  10. I am extremely disappointed, don't get me wrong he deserves the punishment. But Jontay was a small positive in such a shitty season for the Raptors. Like hey we might have found a guy who could develop into a good bench player. Shame to see him squander that

  11. Imagine if they'd applied the same rule to Michael Jordan….who actually lied to the NBA and the FBI about his gambling and consorting with mobsters and drug dealers. If only Stern were here to bury the evidence against Porter, too.
