IT’S TIME For The Hawks To…

The Atlanta Hawks season is over, and this offseason will likely bring some major changes.

  1. Trade capela, Bogi, Hunter.. can get rid of plenty of people. Griffin, Johnson and okongwu are the future. Young sucks, trade him too.

  2. Atlanta has talent that is no debate but for the past 2 years it has always been the defensive talent and that has been shown against a bulls team that is not a good offensive team shot 42% from 3 against a team that has always been bad at point of attack. DJ is a dawg but he is a primary guard next to a primary guard and DJ has been pretty much a doughnut in terms of running an offense compared to Trae, also Kobe Bufkin can be that DJ replacement. If you build around a smaller guard that is not a + defender, you should not have a team full of undersized players that are defensively challenged. They are bottom 3 in height.

Assuming Atlanta has 2 picks in the draft, Donovan Clingan should be a top priority since he has size, it allows them to move off Capela and spend on a perimeter defender. The other first can be used on another forward defender because Atlanta is desperate for size and point of attack defenders.

  3. Trae Young is trash. I knew he would be a bust out of college. He had one good season. He doesn't make teams better. Nobody is gonna want him.

  4. Spurs have quite a few Atlanta 1st rounders in the future. Hawks are in win now mode and have failed. Honestly if I was them I would trust the process and hold tight on the Young Murray experiment. Trade block Capela and Bogdanovic as they are 29 and 31.

  5. To this day I’m still confused on why some people in the hawks front office thought sticking two dudes together who are most effective with the ball in their hands and are statues off ball was a good idea

  6. I mean, with 2 skinny guards, twig Bogdanovic, and small fry Capella “protecting” the paint, you assemble a defense that resembles a revolving door.

  7. Trae is the problem…his heart and head is not at Atlanta anymore…
Let Dejounte run the show and build around him….existing role players are quite good

  8. its crazy how i been said that DJ and Trae was not going to fit well and be efficient together, I think anyone that has some lick of basketball knowledge should have pieced that together, but I guess Hawks front office didnt do as such 😂

  9. The issue with the hawks is they were never good enough to make the end. They got there by a fluke and most notably Ben forgetting how to play basketball. The front office seemed to not have realized that, and thought 1 extra guy was enough to get there or better.

  10. Wouldn’t be surprised if DJ gets traded back to the spurs probably for nowhere near what they paid for him

  11. I’d try to unload Trae, Capela, and Bogdan this offseason for as many young players, expiring contracts, and draft assets as they can. Id even try to move Hunter, but I’m not sure if he’d have a market.

I’d plan on building around Dejounte, Jalen, Onyeka, and the other young guys as my long term pieces. I think that’s a coherent core that you could build around and be competitive in 2-3 years.

  12. That ATLA conference finals run wasn't really very impressive. They got god draws, Knicks and Philly I think, and those were easy wins, one was that game that broke Ben Simmons. It wasn't some impressive run ll and they've been like .500 since for years.

  13. As a Celtics fan, I want to than Atlanta for the 2 games a few weeks ago where the hawks came back from 30 and then beat the Celtics again back to back with the Celtics on like 4 days rest. Even though the Celtics lost, I liked those games, the hawks put on a show and it was the most interesting the Celtics have been in months with such a huge lead on everybody in the East.

  14. ATL has so many mid players on overpaid contracts 😂 Its hurts even more that theyre anti-tax so just keep dumping them / selling low on them.
