Jimmy got hurt while foul baiting.

I don’t blame him. It works.

  2. Jimmy Butler will get from me the same amount of sympathy the online chuds have historically given an injury-stricken Embiid.

I can’t remember which one, but one of the commentators was actually praising Embiid for his ability to do it

I don’t even care anymore, because I’ve realized that anytime someone r/NBA doesn’t like goes to the line it was “foul-baiting.” It’s just their new term for flopping when they can’t actually say it’s a flop with a straight face.

Last night there were four (five after the tweet, because Butler did it to Oubre and hurt himself) pump fakes that led the defender to jump in the air and draw a foul. Two by Joel on Bam, and two by Butler on Joel. A tweet was made about them and a post about the tweet. Everyone called it foul baiting.

I’m sorry but how the fuck is that foul baiting?!? Basketball players have been doing that for decades. It’s literally the reason you can’t just jump immediately as high as you can when you see a player start to shoot. It’s literally the reason coaches and analysts say stay on your feet and don’t be the first to jump. Hell Joel straight up crashes into Butler on one of them as Butler tries to drive.

I don’t know when people started to excuse bad defense and blame the guy that did a good job on offense but it’s so dumb that I just don’t give a fuck anymore about what these dumbasses call flops, flails, or baits. You’re not tricking the ref into calling a foul you’re tricking your defender into being out of position. That was called “being a smart player” back in the day.

I swear Joel is the one guy who never gets credit for playing through injury. Even from our own fans. I feel like people would rather he just sat for some future theoretical playoffs with some future theoretically good team. You gotta take every chance you get with an MVP caliber guy
