  1. Unfortunately, yes he did. Can he still become a good player? Absolutely, we need at least another half a season to evaluate him and Cade with some better surrounding players before we pull the plug on that experiment.

  2. Ivey got screwed his first year having to play PG because Cade was hurt. He is a slashing scorer that needs shooters to open up the floor for him.

  3. Pistons need to get a proper coach to fairly evaluate the young players. 100% sure Montly is not it.

  4. If every player for the pistons don’t get better after this season there not going to get better traded or not

  5. This is my problem with the assessment of Ivey. How did anyone expect Ivey to take a step forward in the Pistons' trash environment? Everyone is destroying Ivey in only his 2nd year but made every excuse under the sun for Cade's lack of second year growth. There is zero consistency in these season grades. If it were only Ivey that took a step back there would be a point to this but Duren also took a considerable step back this season also. There were clear points in the season where Ausar looked like complete garbage water because of coaching. This should be highlighted in all these assessments. From the coaching to the front office this was literally the worst run organization in the league. To expect a player to thrive or even just to grow in this environment is foolish thinking. Coach didn't even know how to use his players until the season was all but over. Monty couldn't even grasp the concept of staggering. Monty is literally the worst coach in terms of play calling and development in the league right now but players are suppose to improve. What a joke. So now because of incompetence fans are going to miss out on what could have been something very special. These reviews only serve how idiotic and sad this season was and it's horrid.

  6. My fear with next season is if we bring everyone back this will be the same exact result. IF we fire Monty which is what I REALLY want then It'd be easier to digest but if we don't fire Monty then I feel like this will be a huge slap in the face of the fans. It all depends on the "changes" this org decides to make. I would love to keep Ivey but I just don't see him fitting next to Cade if Cade is the starting PG of this team.

  7. Last year Ivey had the ball in his hand this year Cade was healthy so he had the ball. In order for Ivey to become his best version he needs ball in his hands. This is why fit matters when you draft.

  8. No!! He got a loopy hippie dippy feelings driven coach. IVEY is a great player and beyond mishandled.

  9. Ivey is a keeper, like Cunningham, he will thrive with a high level stretch 4 or 5 I see him as Vinnie Johnson

  10. 1st Listen….this is definitely going to be an interesting off season. So many things went wrong this past season, I have no idea where to begin. But I'll start with Killian Hayes. Him being a BUST ruined this whole experiment for the entire team. It effected the way we drafted and who we played. Stay up Ku. One

  11. Jaden Ivey needs to improve on his shooting consistency and reduce his turnovers but of beside Cade he has shown to be the most capable of the other three in the core four of being able to shoot. I think I am more concerned about the fit of Ausar and Duren playing on the floor together than Cade and Ivey. I don’t see a way to start two non shooters. I don’t think Duren will likely become a shooter and Ausar has a long way to go to be a respectable shooter.

  12. Unfair to judge Ivey based off this season we all know Monty had it out it for him since the beginning he didn’t even give him a shot instead he insisted on starting killian, btw if Monty actually studied his team he would know not to start a career 40% FG shooter, he admitted he didn’t research our players and that’s why were in this position.

  13. Ivey is the best example of why you can’t just chase ceiling in the draft. Shooting, defense and decision making were his biggest red flags in college, and what do you know? those are the very same reasons the fit with Cade hasn’t worked out.

They’ll get less for trading him now than if they had dealt that 5th overall pick.

  14. Objectively, no. He didn’t take a step back. His scoring was slightly more efficient. His defense was a little better, overall. But he certainly had a rough PASB. He was inconsistent, like last year. Pretty normal development for a player like him (e.g DeAron Fox, Anfernee Simons, Colin Sexton).

  15. After the crap the coach pulled through a large portion of the year. I would give Ivey a pass on all negative judgement for this season, and hope he still even wants to play hard for this ever increasing shit show.
