It's about time that the NBA Utah Jazz be renamed the "Salt Lakers" and the Los Angeles Lakers be renamed the "Lazers." The name "Lakers" came from the old Minneapolis Lakers. As for "Jazz" when St. Louis gets an NBA franchise, call them the St. Louis "Jazz."
If they're not going with the Utah Yeti (which flows off the tongue nicely IMO), I think Blizzard would be the best choice. What does Fury or Venom have to do with Utah…? Are there a lot of snakes in the state…..?
If they pick Blizzard, got to cut a deal with Dairy Queen. e.g. First home game each season: Each person through the turnstiles get a free Blizzard in a special edition "Utah Blizzard" plastic cup which will be unique each year. Collect 'em all!
Why don't they just go with the Utah Coyotes until a decision is made. That's what the Oilers did when they moved to Tennessee. The Nordiques/Avalanche, Whalers/Hurricanes didn't take too long to form and the (North)Stars are still the Stars.
