If Mann can keep playing THAT level of defense, with a returning Kawhi in game 2 or 3? This team just get's even more dangerous.

as much as i hate to admit it harden is pretty good at selling fouls at the 3 point line
Clippers played great defense but the Mavericks also had their worst offensive night of the season. They were shooting horribly across the board while Clips were 50% from 3 point range. I don't see many other games going like that and this series is going to be close.

The amount of contact allowed in the playoffs really hampers Luka when he doesn't have someone else on the floor cooking on offense.

It's one game and the Mavs were able to find their groove in the 2nd half. Gotta keep it one game at a time mindset while respecting the fact that Luka and Kyrie will go off at some point.
Kidd is going to find counters and Lue has to be on top of that.

You are honestly overanalyzing this greatly. Calling Terrance Mann navigation of the 1st really terribly synchronized screen good has more to do with bad screen setting on the Mavs (2nd play was not even a screen either)
Claiming bad passes / boneheaded plays due to tactics by the Clipper is also a stretch
Mavs had their worse quarter / half of the season while the clipped were literally hitting everything. You could even say that the Mavs defence was not that terrible either, Harden made tough buckets and sold fouls well.

Zubac time and time again on the block essentially in an iso situation due to the spacing was, I don’t even have a word for it, it was brilliant in its simplicity and like duh. For a moment and for stretches it was like he’s the best player in the league, or rather him on that team against that sort of modern defense and modern lineup (typical lineup) was virtually unstoppable. The notion of spacing and shooting facilitating a traditional big man low post offense is like Belichick running the ball 45 times that one game. It’s like they reinvented (discovered) the big man and the low post.
The mavs shots will start falling and you're BS narrative is gonna fall apart.
I think Mann did such a good job at making Luka pass the ball and not let Luka get his own looks by just getting up on him
Imma be honest, the way the clippers played shows they are a championship contender, knowing they also didnt have Kawhi and knowing that they got at least 3 guys who can give you 40 at a random game, Pg, Kawhi and Harden
Not just you but I don’t understand how that Amir Coffey contest on exum is anything different of bad defense ? Is it because exum missed it? Because he beat Coffey off the dribble and Coffey’s recovery is not what lead to the miss
People are so quick to switch up and say the Mavs are done now lol. It's 1 game. Don't expect the clippers to shoot 50% from 3 all series while the Mavs brick everything. I think this is gonna go to 6 or 7 games either way
The mavs couldn’t buy a bucket the first half. If they would’ve scored 20+ points the 2nd quarter they would’ve won the game. I’m not too worried about that game. Mavs in 6
An underrated part about Ty Lue's coaching for me is how he was able to reignite Russell Westbrook's fearlessness. Yes everyone praises him for coming off the bench but Brodie legitimately looks like his old self again, he's comfortable in the lineup that he's once again added shooting to his arsenal. Sure the volume's a bit weak and the efficiency is on and off, but he's not afraid anymore. Besides they don't need him to be a lights out shooter, they just need him to be a threat so the volume isn't really an issue, as long as he keeps that confidence to shoot, Clips have got an absolute firecracker coming off the bench.
Simply put it, the Mavericks are stagnant and have a 2-man team. The other players just stand and look at Kyrie and Luka and have no off-the-ball movement.

I’ve watched clips all season since it’s my it was probably a top 5 performance
Half of these clips show Luka passing up layups over zubac. Not great looks but definitely ones he’s hit before. A lot of the first half was a mixture between a passive Luka and good defense.
Ty Lue using no small guards out there in lanes to help and for Luka to hunt out on switches… this series is over
