This graphic really shows how fucked our role players and depth are. Everyone asking why is is “insert player name here” playing so much, and the answer is that the only other options are end of bencher KJ martin or a try hard two way guy with no postseason experience; and he might be our best option at this point.
The Knicks are notably faster, stronger, more physical, and play harder. And they’re deeper and have more talent 3-15. The cupboards are bare in Philadelphia.

I mean you gotta hope Oubre, Batum and Buddy start hitting their shot. I’m more confident with Oubre and Batum though. Buddy’s shot looks all over the place these past two games.
Bball Paul is the only option at Backup C so he’ll still be getting his minutes regardless.
I doubt Nurse is going to change much rotation wise outside of maybe Buddy though.

Hield is fucking ass. Dude takes way too long to shoot. Last night he at least made the effort to get the shot off quick, but the shot looked terrible and wasn’t really close. Its like when seth curry used to take forever to load up, but somehow 100x worse.

Buddy Hield can’t handle it. He and Tobias should get short leashes, but especially Buddy. If he passes up one more open three…..blow the whistle and sub him out for council. I don’t care if he’s only been in for 30 seconds. You cannot be 4 on 5 on offense in the playoffs. Too many years with Ben pulling that bullshit.

Doesn’t matter if his name is Danny Green or Ricky Council IV, nobody is ever going to hit threes in an offense that’s focused around Embiid. Knicks hit in rhythm threes all night, while we clunk around a slow offense and none of our shooters can shoot.

He’s been our de facto 3rd option offensively for most of the season and has been awesome, but has been so quiet on that end in these games. Him finding his spots and making some shots would be huge for us

At this point, I think it’s fair game to cut Oubre, Harris, or Hield’s minutes, especially if Nurse gets a whiff that game 3 is going to be more or less the same from them.
I wouldn’t mind giving Cam Payne a little run because he’s at least a microwave scorer, or RC4/KJ (very similar roles – would be fine with either/or).

Buddy and Oubre look shook on offense. They can’t handle the pressure and physicality. Batum just too slow. Reed is ok but the Knicks have no fear of him protecting the rim. Tobias just can’t match the intensity of the Knicks

I’d like to see Reed play more minutes as well as give someone like Council or Martin 5 minutes to be a spark off the bench to rebound, play defense and elbow Hart a few times.

The most frustrating part is they’re supposed to be a deep team. The pieces they have around Embiid and Maxey are actually solid role players, they’ve just completely disappeared in this series. Remember the Heat win? Spurs win? Those were team wins and a lot of guys chipped in (Hield still sucks and Tobi… yeah). I don’t know if it’s a lights too bright kind of thing or what, but depth was not our problem in the regular season.
