Great video. Great to see Tingus Pingus be the zone-buster the team needs. Plus the decision making from everyone on the drives/cuts/passes makes me think Mazzula put them through a 2-3 boot camp. Interested to see if Spo has anything else to throw at them.

Man, I came into this game thinking “there’s no way they can go to that zone. There has never been a defense more perfect for Boston to exploit.”

Then the Celtics blitzed them and forced them into said zone since they were otherwise scoring at will. Took a minute to start actually hitting the 3s, but it was all over from there.

Awesome, simple explanation of the challenge the Heat are facing. Agree that their only reasonable strategy is to make the Celtics jack a ton of threes and hope they shoot a poor percentage.

Basically the Celtics win this series easily by simply playing gritty defense. Even if they’re cold from three, they can still stifle the Heat on that end, and end up winning comfortably. Doesn’t have to be pretty.

The only chance the heat has is hoping their shooters get super hot and the Celtics go cold. That along w hard nosed D is the only way to steal a game or 2. Then they’re just hoping for (and maybe helping fabricate) Celtics injuries

  5. Amazing video.

Also, by my count, the Celtics appear to be shooting 100% from the field. 😉

Celtics went out and closed the gaps in the offseason. Love to see it.

Really curious what Joe’s plan is when we are cold from 3. His answer in the past has been to keep shooting them. Can’t really drive into a zone defense.

Letting Boston go cold is not a bad strategy. It cost them a 20 point lead and if they start cold and end up in a 20 point hole they are not the team to come back from that.
