Today I decided to react to the The Athletic recent article trading Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren to the Brooklyn Nets for Mikal Bridges

  1. That trade is awful James.
I'm not trading Duren unless Sarr is coming, sorry.

I'd rather run it back with what we have.

  2. I'd do a trade like that in a heartbeat. I get that we have pride in our assets, but Bridges and DFS both fit alongside Cade perfectly, and Duren and Ivey both have clear issues. Easy call.

What I do find odd is people who are saying they're "down" on Ivey and Duren but still won't do that.

  3. A 1st, Ivey & Duren yields a borderline superstar in return! There upside alone has enough value.

  4. Love the idea of getting Mikal. I've been saying it for months.
I don't like giving up Ivey and Duren plus Alex Sarr for a borderline all star. Idk if we could get Claxton that would make it better

  5. Bridges would be a nice addition. A top level defender and respectable 3pt shooter. Definitely upgrades the talent level. Questions as to what Brooklyn would want in return considering what they have rejected. Pistons would have to part with Ivey and/ or Duren plus multiple picks. Bridges would add a dynamic to the starting lineup, as he could play some 2 & have Ausar or Fontecchio at the 3?

  6. I’m not giving Ivey, Duren and potentially Sarr for that weak ass haul! Yall tripping. We loss that trade automatically.

  7. As a big fan of both Ivey and Duren, Piston fans overvalue them. With what the Nets have already turned down, I don't even think they do this trade. This years draft is trash making the value of our pick pretty weak. 2025 draft has generational talent. I think the Pistons front office would make a trade like this, but it takes two to tango. Like Van Gundy said and others in the league say, Ivey and Duren are fringe players that may never be starting caliber players on a playoff team. Mikal has already shown he's a key starter on contending team and has only gotten better. I would prefer rolling with Ivey and Duren and the draft pick, but with Monty here its almost pointless.

  8. Marcus sasser a starter??? Lmao. The kid had some nice games. And some atrocious games. He’s not even proven to be a legit rotation player yet, let alone a starter

  9. If we fall to 5 the pick is up for trade in my books. If we land 1 I’m taking Sarr with a bullet. A guy of that size and defensive presence alone is so needed here.

  10. How do you say you’ve been “building for the future….” Then trade and release over half your team. Then trade half your young core…. All within a few months. What was the last four years of “evaluating what we have” for when you just trade them all away.

  11. I definitely wouldn't do it maybe stew sassor ouf first this year 4 seconds 2029 2030 first for bridges and thats showing love if that works than trade Ivey and 2028 d Murray get miles bridges and a capella or Drummond in Free agency be good

  12. do not like it ..we become the Nets maybe 30,35 wins at best and in van bumby limbo land..rather win 15 games again next yr..bridges is a very very good player but not a top 15….and signing cade our cap space is gone..cade ,bridges, smith, sasser simone, wiseman lolol…prez of operations will ALWAYS be Gore!! i rather go w ivey, duren, cade, risacher/saar ,simone n 2 decent FAs shooters…..and trade monty Williams
