I can’t watch this same roster for another season, shit I don’t know if I can watch it for another two games.

If this series isn’t a wake-up call to the fact that this team’s core needs to drastically change, I don’t know what is.

Please Griff, I beg of you. Something’s gotta give.

  2. Saints_n_Cinema

Not even sure you can call it home court advantage in the Blender Saturday the way we play in there.

  3. Sslagathor

Ingram is an early 2000s player stuck in 2024. He lacks the handle of guys like KD, SGA and DeRozan to just be a midrange guy. If he cant handle physicality and get inside or be a threat from the 3, then hes the exact kind of player the league has moved away from.

  4. twojace21

Z Trey Herb can stay. Everyone else is on the table.

  5. CmonMan711

Fire Willie Green. Our offense is inept and our defense, when we play good teams is non existent, so what does he do exactly?

Move CJ and BI. These players get paid like $80 million combined and do not want to show up when it matters. BI popping off like 4 years ago against the suns in that playoff series does not matter. You want to be a star? Get paid top money? Show up thru the adversity, all the other “stars” do.

Build around Zion/Herb/Trey. Hope Hawkins can continue being as good as he was at the start of the season. Get an actual PG so I don’t have to see another year of ISO ball.

But Griff is gonna use the Zion injury as an excuse so it’s probably another year of this shit. Maybe we can go 0-50 trailing into the 4th

  6. gandhi890

Made me believe with that game 1 close game to just get blown out this game.

BI remembered how they were knocked out by OKC during last play-in matchup. Might as well remember this playoff if he’s not gonna show up back at home. Team high -30 man. Damn.

  7. WhoDat-2-8-3

At least we still have the LSU Gymnastics Championship team

  8. BaronsDad

A 50 win team is 0-25 when trailing entering the 4th. That’s not luck. That’s not a cold shooting night. That’s not bad refereeing. It’s foundational.

  9. Briguy_fieri

This team might have 3-5 of their top 7 guys not be here next year.

We might have a coach not return next year.

We might be back to square 1 next year. We have nothing when Zion isn’t healthy.

  10. Our defense was exposed hard tonight. It’s hard to hide negative defenders when it’s the playoffs. No fight in the team as well. Dying on screens on defense while killing ourselves with offensive foul screens on offense.

  11. dominicklala1287

Horrible performance from literally everyone on this team. Embarrassing game top to bottom. And yet somehow, this isn’t close to the worst playoff loss in franchise history, thanks to the Denver series in 09

  12. Mesame121489

If we could stop switching everything that would be great

  13. afriendlyspider

Any blame post that doesn’t start with Benson and Griffin is off the mark

  14. DMooreRHS

Complete waste of a season. I can’t even believe what I just watched tonight. What have we done to deserve this?

  15. 7even_up

It isnt NOLA sports without a pathetic blowout

  16. Offensive execution has been inexcusable. Too much iso, not enough ball movement, often no urgency, played into their gamesmanship, and let the refs get to us. 16 assists to their 25 is never gonna be enough, and our passing was key in game 1 (ended with 22 dimes to their 21). We could have built upon game 1, but instead we let the deficit and refs get in our heads. Willie needed to adjust the scheme at the half and put more competent defenders in the 2nd half rotation. Could have been so much better, hopefully this will ignite some passion in game 3

  17. SpaceAfricanJesus

    “Fight” is not a strategy.

BI had a 67%TS which would tell you he was efficient but it was the most misleading single stat possible. Dude had 2 FGA and 2FTA then took some shots when the score started to get out of hand. Turning the ball over for no reason and just wasn’t impactful.

Not gonna waste time with anyone else but Herb did his job, mostly, maybe. JV was cooking early and then as expected the offense went away from him and then he started to miss and get cooked on defense.

    #GIVE THEM CREDIT

Teams are great when they have an identity in offense. When they do something on the court that teams have to invest extra resources in order to stop.

If your opponent is able to just play basketball and beat you, you are not a threat.

Right now, we are a talented team with no identity and no good first punch.

Good thing is, we are in a great place looking forward as a franchise. However, we will have to make moves.

  19. workwork187

Very Pels to give hope in a moral victory close L in game 1, then get absolutely BTFO in game two. Coming in I was thinking “what if we just clean it up a bit and hit some open 3s this time around, we def have a shot.”

The (more likely, obviously) outcome that I was refusing to contemplate was “what if Pels continue to play like shit but OKC actually comes correct and plays like the 1 seed.”

GGs. I hope they can take one of Game 3 or 4 to give the Smoothie King Center faithful something to be happy about.

P.S. Refs not great but we got absolutely waxed. Think the experiment with this current roster/coaching staff needs to come to an end this offseason.

P.P.S. This 4 or 5 game series loss will be a disappointment overall given how good we looked for stretches this season, but I’m very happy to see the Pels back in the playoffs. Winning that second play-in game after losing Zion and a gut wrenching one to the Lakers was nice to see. It’s been a really fun season and I’ll cherish that, bc while I hope next year is better things really are more likely to get worse. When you’re a fan of a franchise that isn’t very successful, just getting to the playoffs and being in games that matter all year feels nice. Hope we’re back next season.

Lots of issues tonight but 17 TOs is way too many. They had like 22 POTO.

They made 7 more 3s. So you lose out on 21 pts. This is where BI not taking a single 3 kills you. If he doesn’t want to shoot 3s you have to trade him. You can’t win with 2 guys who don’t shoot 3s. BI is going to fuck himself in the league if he doesn’t want to shoot 3s.

And what’s crazy is the guy is damn near 7 ft tall. He has the perfect build to be a lethal 3 point shooter…crazy.

Edit: but anyway you can’t beat top caliber teams with 17 TOs and 22 POTO. Like so many people are complaining about the wrong things in this sub. 22 POTO is a death sentence. Forget anything about Willie or about BI. Too many unforced errors.

“Hawk isn’t playable on defense and if he throws up bricks like he just did when he finally does get minu..”

SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP. ROOKIE GUARDS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS BAD. DARIUS GARLAND WAS THE WORST PLAYER IN THE NBA HIS ROOKIE YEAR. THE PELICANS CAN’T KEEP REFUSING TO DEVELOP YOUNG GUARDS THEN SEND THEM OFF TO BLOSSOM ON OTHER TEAMS. I REFUSE TO GO THROUGH ANOTHER BUDDY HIELD OR NAW SITUATION. NO SIR. NOT THIS TIME. YOU WILL NOT TOUCH MY UCONN HUSKY DEVELOPED MOVEMENT SHOOTER.

  22. ChickenWarm

How does Trey only shoot 8 times in a game?

  23. UnrequitedTerror

Heavy second hand embarrassment watching this. I knew this game was over in the first quarter with 1/7 from 3, but the gameplan fell apart. It seemed like going to Valanciunas worked and the coaching staff decided to toss that. Mix that with what, 10+ offensive fouls?

I also notice on this team nobody is committing to a play, they go up to the basket and pass it away.

    McCollum has been not beneficial.

Lastly, Ingram is not adjusting, plain and simple unable to change his play style.

  24. amadea_saoirse

    0-25
losing by 30+ in a playoff game
ATO iso with no ball movement
letting your “star” locked up for 2 playoff games in a row
letting your “DPOY” candidate continuously get switched up off an opposing star

    This is all Willie’s fingerprints.

  25. ChocolateTemporary72

Ingram gotta go. Package him and try to get Mitchell. CJ can go too

  26. iluwodka

Willie Green as to get the fuck out of this franchise ASAP his poor decisions are killing us

  27. Lyte_Work

The writings been on the wall all season. We got obliterated A LOT by good teams, but y’all kept saying to look at the record – we’re good, see. Negative net rating from the starters, 0-21 when trailing the 3rd, heavy Nance minutes, losing key games that put us in playoffs. This squad just doesn’t fit.

  28. World-Nomad

This team isn’t progressing like other organizations that were in similar situations to us the last couple of years. For example, Minnesota and Oklahoma were both play in teams last year, and look at the jumps they made with their young talent. Two years ago after losing to the Suns you would’ve thought we would be between a 1-3 seed the last two years making deep runs, but nope, we’re about to get thumped out in four games. It’s frustrating.

  29. ZachPlaysDrums

That’s alright y’all I saved a lot of money on my car insurance

  30. odayjimmy

Can we at least get a decent Point Guard?!

  31. WrapperByDay

Drafting Kira Lewis, Dyson Daniels, Jaxon Hayes all busts is how you get here. Hawkins a lottery pick gets no minutes. Look at Jaquez, look at Chet. They can’t draft for shit. CJ is supposed to be the vet the leader guys needs to be traded, get rid of Ingram too. Keep Zion and hope for the best

  32. MznNazzy19

We all can come up with 2 to 3 arguments for weaknesses for every single player on our team, that includes Zion. I could write a whole essay on Willie Green.

  33. PaKyuBai

Did Willie give credit to OKC on his post game yet?

  34. Happy-Cauliflower-22

It’s not that complicated. Pelicans don’t have their best player and they don’t really have a “leader”

  35. amadea_saoirse

I have a strong feeling that BI will not be missed if he’s shipped out this offseason. Even if he makes it big in other teams, it would just be inefficient midrange chuckers with a bigger volume and no 3pt shooting.
